4 Contemporary classics in vertically and horizontally ribbed steel Steel ribbed infills for single and double garages have stood the test of time and therefore always prove a keen favourite. The design shown above gains its strong visual impact from the horizontally arranged steel ribs in conjunction with a vertical centre profile and side profiles. Garage door and side door as one unit No space for a garage side door? Then this is the ideal solution: a garage door with integral wicket pass door in matching appearance. For underground and collective garages we also offer steel garage doors with ventilation slots as required by the relevant regulations. In such cases we recommend the use of an electric operator with key switch or digital coder in conjunction with an interior button for opening and closing. 4

6 6 Harmonizing garage and side doors This example impressively shows how the design of the doors and side doors match when vertical ribbings and horizontal profiles align. This design advantage can also be offered for many other styles (see programme overview page 15-18).

7 The variations: Ribbed steel in chevron design and with vertical or horizontal profiles The double garage door shown on the left perfectly echoes the contours of the gable. The chevron design and the subdivision using vertical profiles gives this garage door a uniquely attractive appearance. In the double garage door shown below, a horizontal profile has been used to subdivide the height, cleverly carrying through the design of the windows. Colours create a friendly environment Thanks to the new variety of colours, you can co-ordinate the colour of your garage door to match the facade, gable, oriel, entrance door and windows, as this example impressively shows (see also pages 15-16). 7

8 Raised and smooth panels: These steel infills are bang up to date From these highly attractive infills select the design that best complements the architecture of your home. The arrangement of the panels is precisely matched to the respective door size of your single or double garage. The panelling of the side door and garage door is perfectly aligned. Smooth panel infill This panel infill has a particularly elegant appearance and is especially complementary to houses featuring contemporary architecture and clean distinct lines, as our example here impressively shows. Raised panel infills An effective combination of squares and rectangles creates attractive aesthetics - one of our four different panel infills. Panelled sections on the garage door and side door are perfectly aligned. A choice of three different design glazings to enhance the appearance of your garage door at the same time as providing an additional source of light. See page 14. 8

10 Hörmann solid timber infills: In exemplary quality Every Hörmann solid timber door is assembled from carefully selected, superior quality timber profiles. Before assembly the timber profiles are spray-impregnated to protect them against insect and fungal attack. Subsequent site finishing is all that is needed. Information is provided in the Fitting Instructions. All the timber infills shown on this page feature Nordic Pine which is by nature a lightcoloured wood. By applying a pigmented wood preservative you an easily achieve the colour of your choice. We offer the timber boarding arranged vertically or horizontally, as well as in a chevron or rhombus design. Door leaf overlapping the frame All Hörmann timber doors are fully clad, i.e. the door leaf overlaps the frame. This shows the natural beauty of the timber to full advantage. In addition, we offer the timber designs 923 and 927 in a choice of five new infills without frame surround (see pages 17-18). 10

11 All doors with timber infill are supplied foil-wrapped to protect them during transit and site storage. Glazing as a design element Depending on how the timber doors are divided, the shape of the glazing is integrated into the design. Just how good this can look is demonstrated by this example featuring rhombus-style glazing. NEW 11

12 Design your very own timber door: You cut the timber to size. The frame and struts are pre-drilled at 30 mm spacings. This pre-drilling of the 905 design is a major benefit. It makes for easy fitting every time, regardless of whether the timber boarding is arranged vertically, horizontally, in a chevron/rhombus or individual design. Once fitted, it is essential that you treat your door with a proprietary wood preservative to protect it against UV rays as well as fungal and insect attack. If you would like to give your door a coloured appearance, please use a pigmented wood preservative. If you choose a chevron design, your garage door could look like this. Matching, for example, a timber-clad house gable and the entrance door. The 905 design gives you full creative freedom. It goes without say that the 905 design is also available for double garages. But please note the maximum infill weight (page 26). 12

13 This door construction offers you two design options: Infill overlapping the frame, whereby the frame and bottom section are entirely concealed. Timber infill within the frame with visible bottom section to protect against spray water. This is the solid basis Extremely sturdy frame construction through considerably reinforced struts. Stainless steel threshold rail Where garages are exposed to the weather, it is advisable to use a stainless steel weather bar to ensure that the bottom of the door stays rust-free for many years to come. Rubber floor seal for an unbroken flat floor line For garages with an unbroken flat floor line, the flexible, weather-proof rubber seal helps keep out driving rain, hail and snow. Fascia panels and renovation panels In the case if renovations, the structural opening can sometimes be higher and wider than the more favourablypriced standard-sized garage door. Hörmann solves this problem by offering aestheticallypleasing top and side fascia panels to close the gaps. If masonry is damaged on removing the old garage door, a renovation panel (see photo) provides a neat solution without the need for any further plastering. (See also page 26). 20

21 Extras for improved acoustic and thermal insulation Where acoustic insulation is called for, we recommend our special Dämmtec coating which is applied to the inside of the door leaf at the factory. We can supply thermal insulation boards which come in a pack and are simply clipped to the inside of the garage door, or you can have insulation boards prefitted at the factory. On first-time opening and closing, the intelligent electronics already tune themselves to your garage door. No trap risk That's intelligent safety In the event of an obstruction, the automatic cut-out halts the closing door and raises it approx. 30 cm, so nothing and no-one can get trapped. The automatic cut-out is selftesting as well as self-adjusting, if necessary during every door cycle. No-one else offers this level of security Every time the door closes, the door security kit engages in the boom's limit stop. An effective way of making sure that your garage door cannot be forced open (a Hörmann patent). The door security kit is a mechanical device, so it is always fully functional, even during a power failure. Using the universal fitting the operator is always easy to fit Because Hörmann makes both: the door and the operator.
