2 S AND SUPPLIES REQUIRED Phillips screwdriver Felt-tip pen File Tape 2 mm, 3 mm, 6 mm, 7.5 mm, 9 mm, and 11 mm Drill bits Pushpin 19 mm Wrench Hex wrench Eye protection (face shield, safety goggles, etc.) Rivet Nut Installation Tool (T/N: 07AAE-SZN100) Drill Awl Illustration of the Cargo Cover Installed in the Vehicle Client Information: The information in this installation instruction is intended for use only by skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely add equipment to your vehicle. These procedures should not be attempted by do-it-yourselfers. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle during installation. 1. Open the tailgate. 2. Fold down the rear seats. 3. Using an awl, poke a hole through each cap, and remove four caps from the left rear and right rear side trim panels. TAILGATE Open. 3 4. Get the left base (they are marked L or R on the back). Align the top edge of the left base to the top edge of the left rear side lining as shown. VIEW FROM 3 MARKS 3 HOLES 6. Using a pushpin, pierce the three marks made in step 5. 3 MARKS SIDE TRIM PUSHPIN FELT-TIP PEN Check the back for the mark. VIEW FROM REAR AB 7. Wrap a piece of tape around each drill bit 10 mm away from the tip. Align. SIDE TRIM SIDE TRIM BY 5. Using a felt-tip pen, mark the left rear side trim panel at the centers of the three holes in the left base as shown. Set aside the left base. MARK MARKS SIDE TRIM 3 mm 6 mm 9 mm 11 mm DRILL BIT DRILL BIT DRILL 10 mm TAPE 3 mm 7.5 mm DRILL BIT AB 8. While wearing eye protection, drill the two forward pierced holes to 11 mm. First drill with a 3 mm drill bit, then with 6 mm drill bit, then with a 9 mm drill bit, and finally with an 11 mm drill bit. 9. While wearing eye protection, drill the rear pierced hole to 7.5 mm. First drill with a 3 mm drill bit, then enlarge the hole with a 7.5 mm drill bit American Honda Motor Co., Inc. All Rights Reserved. BII (1108) 3 of 6

4 10. Locate the two spring nuts on the left rear side trim panel. While wearing eye protection, drill the center of the two spring nuts using a 2 mm drill bit. 12. Install one rivet nut into the hole made in step 9 on the left rear side trim panel: 2 SPRING NUTS HOLE 2 mm DRILL BIT DRILL AY Thread the rivet nut onto the mandrel on the rivet nut installation tool as shown AG 11. Align the left bracket to the left base and install it with four 4 x 10 mm self-tapping screws and four 4 mm washers. 4 WASHERS, 4 mm MANDREL Secure this screw first AY 4 SELF-TAPPING SCREWS, 4 x 10 mm BRACKET BY 4 of 6 BII (1108) 2011 American Honda Motor Co., Inc. 5 Insert the rivet nut thru the hole in the left rear side trim panel and insert a hex wrench onto the rivet nut installation tool. 13. Install one small collar to the left base as shown. LARGE COLLAR HOLE HEX WRENCH BY While holding the rivet nut installation tool with a 19 mm wrench, turn the hex wrench clockwise to secure the rivet nut to the left rear side trim panel. SMALL COLLAR 5 mm WASHER 5 x 20 mm PAN SCREW 4 SELF- TAPPING SCREWS, 5 x 50 mm DY 14. Install the left base to the left rear side trim panel with four 5 x 50 mm self-tapping screws, one 5 x 20 mm pan screw, one large collar, and one 5 mm washer. 15. Install five caps to the left base. 19 mm WRENCH Turn clockwise. MANDREL 5 CAPS HEX WRENCH BY Remove the rivet nut installation tool from the rivet nut by turning the hex wrench counterclockwise AY 16. Repeat steps 4 through 15 to install the right base to the right side trim panel American Honda Motor Co., Inc. All Rights Reserved. BII (1108) 5 of 6

6 17. Fold the cargo cover as shown. Set the cargo cover on the left and right bases, then slide to fit the hooks into the slots. Make sure the hooks on the cargo cover are secured in the slots on both bases. CROSS SECTION 4 HOOKS Slide rearward. 18. Unfold the cargo cover and secure the two stops on the cargo cover to the two slots on the left base and right base. AND RIGHT 4 SLOTS 2 STOPS AND RIGHT BY 19.
