EXHIBIT B TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN PENSACOLA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY AND SUBCONTRACTOR Scope of Work Vinyl Siding Labor Division 190 General Requirements 1. All Work shall be performed in accordance with manufacturer s printed installation instructions and all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. 2. The Work shall conform to all Codes in effect in the jurisdiction where the work is performed. 3. To promote safety, the jobsite must be kept clean and free of debris at all times. All trash, discarded packaging, boxes, bags, spoils of demolition, damaged and/or waste building materials, and other forms of debris shall be disposed of properly and legally. This subcontractor may use the on site debris container if one is provided by Habitat for Humanity. We encourage recycling and ask you to participate as much as possible on this job. 4. Purchase Orders will be issued for this division of work and the amount of compensation for the Work will be listed on the Purchase Order. 5. Additional work shall not be performed without the written approval of the Construction Director. This approval will be in the form of a Variance Purchase Order. If extra work is performed without prior approval, no payment will be made and if required, the extra work will be removed by and at the expense of this Sub contractor. 6. Pensacola Habitat for Humanity is a tax exempt entity. You will be instructed by our Accounting Department how to handle sales tax. 7. This Sub contractor shall furnish all Labor, Materials, Equipment, and Supplies necessary to complete the Work, unless directed otherwise by statement below. 8. Progress payments for partial completion of the Work will be made on the Friday following the Friday that invoices are received by our Accounting Department. 9. Final Payment will be made after all work of this Scope is complete. a. Payment to the Vinyl Installation Subcontractor is based on per square of siding, per linear foot of soffit, per square foot of porch ceiling, and per pair of shutters. Special Requirements 1. Pensacola Habitat for Humanity will furnish all vinyl siding materials for installation by this Subcontractor. 2. The siding is a double 4 or 5 lap The panels are 12 feet long and trim also is 12 long. 3. Siding Installation a. Install J channel around sides and tops of windows and doors making certain that the channel is laying flat against the wall and is straight. The corners where J channel meets will be mitered by cutting the end of the horizontal piece at a 45 degree angle and notching it to fit snugly against the vertical piece. Window sill extensions and header extensions on windows and doors should be cut so that J

channel can be installed flush with the casings. Channel should be nailed in the factory slots every 12 inches. Do not nail tight. The bottom piece to be installed on all windows is to be seal trim provided. When window and / or door facings are to be covered with coil stock, this will be done before installing the J channel and must have a return onto the moisture barrier. This return edge needs to be sealed with peel and seal, protecto tape, or other approved tape. b. Install the finish trim at the top and under all windows, inside the J channel, nailing the slots every 12 inches. It may be necessary to fur out under the window to maintain proper slope of the panel. PHFH will provide seal trim for use under windows. c. Install outside corner post on all outside corners, making certain that the corner is plumb and that it is not twisted. The corner will be placed in position allowing 1/4" clearance at the top. Nail at top of the upper slot. The corner should be nailed in the center of the slots. The corner will extend no more than 1/4" below the bottom of the siding. The corners may be extended further down until the siding is run and then cut off flush with the bottom of the siding. d. If the wall height requires the use of more than one corner, the shorter piece will be used at the bottom and will be lapped under the top piece. Both top and bottom of the corner post must be capped, if exposed. e. Inside corners may be run by using one piece of j channel to conceal ends of siding on back wall and to hold ends of siding on side walls. (rather than use two pieces of j) When this is done a flashing must be done using the coil stock in the corner. f. To establish the starting point for siding installation, locate the lowest corner of the house. Measure down from the eave and/or windows to a point approximately 1 " above the bottom of the existing siding, then measure an equal distance down to the next corner on that wall. This ensures that the siding appears level with the windows and/or eaves, regardless of any actual settling of the house. Stretch a chalk line between these two points, checking to be sure that the line is taut and straight before popping a line. Repeat this process all around the house, making necessary adjustments until all lines meet at every corner. In case of extreme settling, splitting the difference will be necessary to achieve proper alignment around the house. g. It is extremely important that the starter strip be straight and line up at all corners. Nail starter strip in center of nailing slots 8 to 10" maximum spacing. The starter strip must not start closer than ¾ from an outside corner. Keep ends of successive starter strips at least 1/4" apart to allow for expansion. h. Be careful, to ensure that no plumbing pipes are damaged by errant nailing. i. When cutting vinyl siding with a power saw, use a fine tooth blade mounted in the reverse position or the saw can be pulled backwards. Care should be taken when using a power saw to cut steel siding, use of snips or a sliding "chopper" are recommended. j. Allow for expansion and contraction using 1/4" gap in all corner posts and channels. In extremely cold weather the expansion gap will need to be 3/8". Overlap panels a minimum of 1" as allowed by the factory pre notched ends. Stagger end laps at least 30" apart so that one is not directly above the other, unless separated by three courses of siding. Always overlap joints away from entrances and from the point of the greatest traffic. Check every 3rd course for proper alignment. Areas 12' and less will never have splices, and pieces less than 3' shall never be used as starters or finishers. Expose only the manufactured edge of the panels.

k. Sill Trim material will be supplied to secure the top row of siding when it has to be cut down from a full piece. A snap punch tool must be used to properly prepare the cut piece of siding to fit correctly into the seal trim. 4. Fascia a. All coil work to be done on job site shall be carefully considered and planned before any coil is cut to eliminate excess scrap and ensure maximum utilization of coil. b. The exact dimensions of each level of the fascia will be measured carefully before the coil stock is bent to ensure proper and snug fitting. Since the dimensions may vary, measurements should be checked before each piece of fascia is bent. All fascia shall have a 1 " return under the fascia board to ensure uniformity. This needs to be hemmed to prevent corrosion to exposed woods. c. Fascia will be nailed to the bottom of the fascia board. The only face nailing that may have to be done is at the joints where two pieces of fascia overlap. If face nailing is necessary to keep the joint closed, pre drill holes before nailing and nail through only one piece of fascia. Extra care must be taken not to over drive the nail or let the hammer head contact the aluminum fascia. If soffit is attached to the bottom of the fascia board, the fascia will be nailed in the v grooves of the soffit. d. Matching color trim nails will be used to nail fascia. It may be necessary to use touch up paint on the heads of the nails. e. At outside or inside corners of fascia, notch the underside return back 1 from the end of the first piece of fascia. Bend the 1 tabs to fit around the corners. Cut the second piece to line up exactly with the corner of the fascia board, cutting the underside boards at 45 degree angles to create a neat mitered appearance. f. When gable boxes exist, extend the gable fascia panel through the gable box and cut the end to align with the fascia seam. Covered lower portion of box with coil stock and extend the coil underneath the fascia panel to prevent water infiltration. g. Fascia pieces shall be cut by scoring the back side on the coil stock with a utility knife and bending the coil at the point of scoring until it breaks. A square shall be used to ensure that the ends are square and straight. Never use snips to make long cuts in coil stock. Small cuts of 1 " or 2" may only be made with snips. h. Overlap of fascia on gable rake boards will always be open toward the bottom to avoid water running behind the fascia. When turning corners with fascia, extend the first piece around corner 2" or 3" then start new fascia at corner. i. Always plan fascia installation so that no piece of fascia is ever less than 5 feet long. (Unless of course, the total length of the area to be covered is less than 5 feet long.) Divide the length of fascia into equal lengths, using the longest possible piece that will fit into the break. j. In cases where fascia boards are warped or bowed, overlaps will need to be planned carefully to align with the points of greatest warping or bowing. If warping of bowed wood member cannot be wrapped in a professional workmanship matter contact or notify Crew Leader. Never force the aluminum fascia to conform to the unusual contours, as it will cause crimps or waves in the aluminum. k. Soffit, fascia and trim will be cleaned as described in the siding installation section. l. Keep hands as clean as possible during application. To clean smudges, use a soft cloth or damp sponge dipped in a mild detergent solution. Thoroughly clean the siding as it is installed and check at the end of the job that all dirt and finger smudges are removed. m. Critical points to always remember: i. Nail panels in center of slots

7. Trim ii. Minimize face nailing of siding or fascia (Face Nailing may be necessary to insure wind resistance) iii. Do not nail tight, let panel hang iv. Use of staples on soffit is allowed. Use of staples for siding is not recommended but will be allowed if proper staples and installation techniques are followed. v. Leave 1/4" clearance to all openings and stops for expansion and contraction vi. Leave 3/8" to 1/2" clearance in extremely cold temperatures. vii. Do not pull horizontal panels up too tight viii. Lap panels on half of factory pre notched end, use of factory ends is always recommended over job site fabrication of ends. ix. Overlap panels away from points of heaviest traffic x. Check for width of top panel before starting bottom row xi. Make sure that top panel is properly crimped every 12 and is securely installed in the sill trim piece. xii. Never use any siding that is less than 30" long unless it is being installed inside a smaller opening. a. When covering freeze boards, windows and door facings, etc. with coil stock, face nailing shall be avoided whenever possible. The nailing will always be done with color matched trim nails nailed into the edges of the covered boards or into a nailing fin which can be covered by siding or soffit. If face nailing is necessary, pre drill holes before nailing. All pressure treated material must first be covered with poly or house wrap to protect the coil stock from corrosion caused by the chemicals used to treat the wood. The poly material recommended is the 12 wide black poly on the jobs for moisture barrier. b. The recommended way to wrap brick stop is to fold the coil stock over the top and bottom ends like wrapping a present. This prevents the ends of the board being exposed. c. The exact dimensions of the board to be covered will be measured carefully before the coil stock is bent to ensure proper and snug fittings. d. If the frieze board exceeds 7" width, it will be covered by soffit material run vertically. Soffit material v grooves must be aligned with that of the soffit, frieze board that is 7" or less will be covered with coil stock. e. When fitting panels over windows make sure that there are no laps. Cut the section out for an accurate fit. Furring out over the window may be required to maintain proper alignment. 8. Soffit a. Soffit panels shall be locked securely together but never pulled too tight. If the overhang exceeds 18" with vinyl soffit or 36" with aluminum soffit, the panels will be nailed in the center to avoid sagging. b. When inside or outside corners of the overhang have equal width overhangs on both sides, the soffit will be mitered at 45 degree angles. Use T bar, or two pieces of J channel used back to back, to receive the panels. The panels will be cut so that the v grooves line up at the miter. c. When inside or outside corners of the overhang do not have equal width overhangs on both sides, the soffit will be mitered at 90 degree angles. Use T bar, or two pieces of J channel used back to back, running parallel to the widest side.

d. Where J channel is to be extended to the fascia at corners, it will be necessary to notch the nailing flange so as not to cause the soffit to hang down lower at that point. e. The J channel does not need to be nailed to the fascia because the joining soffits will hold it in place. It is used at corners simply to finish the soffit edges neatly, not to hold the soffit in place. f. When siding and soffit are to be installed on the same job, the soffit must be installed first to establish where the top finish course on the siding will be. 9. General a. A full 12' piece of siding will expand up to 1/2" during the hot periods, allow for both expansion and contraction. b. The framers are to install house wrap to completely cover any OSB sheathing. If there is any damage evident, to this moisture barrier, the Crew Leader must be notified to get the Framing Subcontractor to repair it. It must be repaired prior to siding installation. c. The framers are to seal the windows with peal and seal tape placing the top piece on last and the bottom piece first. d. Care should be used when caulking, do not smooth caulking with dirty fingers, it will turn the caulking black. e. All shutters require shall be installed to manufactures specifications with the fasteners provided. f. L bends or metal caps should be used to cover exposed plywood edge or as brick caps. Caulking should not be used in areas greater than 1/8". g. Flashing utilizing coil stock is to be provided at all hose bibs to prevent water from getting to the OSB sheathing. Run coil from above hose bib all the way to bottom of OSB in 12 width. Cut carefully for hose bib and caulk if permanent hose handle is installed. h. J channel requires a full 1 overlap when necessary to join two pieces. The bottom piece will require modification to allow for expansion. See installation guide for details. I Install electrical Mount Master boxes where marked. J Note all aluminum scrape is to be saved for PHFH recycling. 10. Vinyl Siding Contractors Specific Responsibilities a. Return trips; The Subcontractor shall return to each house as scheduled to: i.
