Burnishing: To create the aged, weathered look, Thomas Creek applies a black dye that brings out the distressing marks in the top.

3 DISTRESSING & BURNISHING Distressing wood is a great way to add some character to your customer s home or business. The look of vintage, antique, and worn-down wood can add a charming design aspect to any project. Distressed Distressed & Burnished Distressed & Burnished Chestnut Stain Distressing brings creativity into each top. In the past, distressing was done by hand, but in order to give it consistency, it is now done by machine. Burnishing: To create the aged, weathered look, Thomas Creek applies a black dye that brings out the distressing marks in the top. Stain & Finish: The exclusive look is completed with the application of stain, if specified, and choice of one of the Polyurethane finishes. (If stained and/or burnished with Waterlox finish, it is not food safe and cannot be cut on.) CUSTOM STAIN MATCH Custom Stain Matching is available upon request. How does it work? Order is placed for countertop. You will provide us with a sample to be matched which we provide to Thomas Creek. Thomas Creek will then color match the stain onto the species of wood you have quoted, it will be given a control # and labeled. The small sample will be mailed back to you, not to your customer. This is only a Stain Color Match. All Color Match samples are finished with a very light coat of Standard Polyurethane Finish. There is no charge for the small color match. Larger 1.5 x 8 x 8 samples may be requested. There is a one-time charge of $30 per sample. We strongly recommend, as this is a better representation of what the color and finish would look like upon completion. These samples are customized to your customer s quote. Complete with Color Match, Species, Grain Orientation, Corner profiles, Edge profiles & Selected Finish. Each Sample is labeled on the back. 3

This is for shipping purposes. Radius tops as large as 72 in diameter can be produced, but will be in two or more pieces (biscuits and joint connectors provided). Tops with larger miter joints or tops longer than 144 can be produced but will come with unassembled joints that will include biscuits and joint connectors, to be joined in the field. INSTALLATION, CARE & WARRANTY GUIDELINES Installation Thomas Creek Wood Tops are made from solid wood that must be allowed to expand and contract with seasonal moisture changes.

It is suggested that the top be attached from one side or from two sides only if the fasteners pass through oversize or slotted holes (1/8 per foot).

8 INSTALLATION, CARE & WARRANTY GUIDELINES Installation Thomas Creek Wood Tops are made from solid wood that must be allowed to expand and contract with seasonal moisture changes. To accommodate this, under mounted fasteners should be used in a manner that will allow the top to move slightly. It is suggested that the top be attached from one side or from two sides only if the fasteners pass through oversize or slotted holes (1/8 per foot). Rubberized sealant may also be used to secure the top and to dampen vibration. Thomas Creek Wood Tops are not responsible for installation. Care Thomas Creek Wood Tops are coated with food safe mineral oil, Waterlox or a polyurethane finish. The food safe mineral oil finish should be recoated once a month with mineral oil to maintain the bright appearance and to avoid cracks in the wood due to drying conditions. The Waterlox finish is both food safe and water resistant and requires no further applications. The polyurethane finish is durable, water resistant and requires only minimal maintenance. Simple cleaning can be accomplished with a damp cleaning cloth wetted with a mix of white vinegar and water. Do not use bleach, ammonia or abrasive cleansers and avoid exposure to hot surfaces by using a hot pad or trivet. Thomas Creek Wood Tops are not responsible for improper maintenance or use. Warranty Thomas Creek Wood Tops are warrantied against manufacturing defects for a period of one year. Exclusions to the warranty apply if the product has been modified from its original state or has been exposed to excessive changes in humidity, temperature or moisture. Other exclusions to the warranty include shipping and handling damage, improper installation, normal wear and tear, accidental damage, unintended product uses, inadequate maintenance and the natural aging of wood products. Unfinished products have no warranty. All warranty claims must be submitted to the authorized dealer where the product was purchased and are limited to replacement or repair of the product. Warranty claims that meet the provisions of this warranty will be approved and completed within 30 calendar days. This is the only warranty, expressed or implied.
