This product is intended to be assembled only as described in these instructions. Warranty GearBoss Custom Wood Lockers are covered under a ten year Limited Warranty offered to you, the initial purchaser. This Warranty runs from the date of shipment and warrants that the Wenger product will be free of defects in materials or craftsmanship during the warranty period. This Warranty is your sole and exclusive remedy for any claim against Wenger related to your purchase, use, or ownership of a Wenger product. This Warranty does not apply to damage caused by common carrier, misuse or abuse, alterations to products not expressly authorized by Wenger. This Warranty does not extend to mechanical or electrical component parts made by others such as: Fans, Lights, Digital Locks, etc. Component parts of this nature are covered under their independent manufactures warranties. This Warranty does not apply to items that are consumable in nature such as: LEDs, Batteries, etc. Exact matching of color, grain, texture and lighting is not guaranteed as these features are prone to change and fade over time. Our warranty assures you of, at the discretion of our Customer Service Department, either a full refund, or the repair or replacement of the defective product without charge. Just call a Customer Service Representative at and state the reason you are dissatisfied. If return of a product is necessary, your representative will issue a return authorization. The Warranty assumes proper use and care of the Wood Lockers. Care must be given by locker users not to stuff foot lockers over capacity and then attempt to compress the gear using the seat. Evidence of this misuse will be bending and failure of the seat hinges. An intentional benefit of GearBoss Lockers are repairable and replaceable parts. To achieve this through-bolts are used and on moving parts and the vibration of these connection points can, at times, cause bolts to loosen. Maintenance must be in place to annually check and, if necessary, tighten bolts at these locations as shown below. Evidence of a failure to provide this maintenance will be seat hinges and cubby door hinges that have come loose. 2

3 Safety Precautions Throughout this manual you may find cautions and warnings which are defined as follows: WARNING means that failure to follow the instruction may result in serious injury or death. CAUTION means that failure to follow the instruction may result in serious injury or damage to property. Read all of these safety instructions before assembling and installing the Wood Lockers.! CAUTION Make sure anyone assembling or installing the Wood Locker has read and understands these instructions.! CAUTION Failure to comply with Warnings and Cautions in this document can result in damage to property or serious injury.! CAUTION To avoid damage and injury, more than one person is needed for installation. Before Installation Overview This system should be installed only by skilled technical persons, and only after carefully studying these instructions. It is suggested that the Wood Lockers are setup in a space that is large enough to safely handle the cartons, parts and accessories. Inspect the condition of the wall and floor where the Wood Lockers will be located. If the wall is not straight, establish a reference line so that the fronts of all lockers will line up. Also, determine the highest point on the floor, which will establish the leveled height of each row of lockers. Layout, level and secure all base units prior to attaching the locker to the base. After all base units are in place, distribute the locker hardware and accessories for each base unit. Before You Begin Read the complete assembly procedure before beginning the assembly. Hardware packs may contain extra fasteners that will not be required on your lockers. At least two people are required to install the locker 3

The installer must choose the appropriate fastener and follow the manufacturer s instructions.! CAUTION Inferior or improperly installed fasteners could cause the Wood Locker to tip over. Determine the construction of the walls and/or floor. Wood Lockers are usually attached to the wall and no attachment to the floor is required. If the Wood Lockers are installed back-to-back in the middle of a room, brackets will be supplied to secure them to the floor and to each other. Wood Locker Fastener Guidelines: If the floor is wood construction, attachment should be by sheet metal or lag screws (#10 minimum). If the floor is concrete, attachment should be by Concrete screw (Tapcon), or sheet metal screws (#10 minimum) into metal or plastic inserts. If the wall is wood stud-and-drywall construction, attachment should be by lag screws (1/4 minimum) into every stud. If the wall is metal stud-and-drywall construction, attachment should be by toggle bolt (1/4 minimum) into every stud. If the wall is concrete block construction, attachment should be by Concrete screw (Tapcon) or toggle bolt (1/4 minimum), spaced no more than 16 apart. If the wall is poured concrete construction, attachment should be by Concrete screw (Tapcon) or wedge-type concrete anchors, spaced no more than 24 apart. Note: Each wall and floor connection must be rated for a minimum of 500 lbs of tension. Other fasteners may be used if the connection strength requirement is met. 4

6 Electrical Guidelines The Wood Locker offers many different options. If electrical component options are selected, electrical connection must be provided by a licensed electrician, and all circuits must be grounded with overload and GFCI protection. A certified electrician must wire the lockers to house power. This service is not provided by Wenger. Wenger Wood Lockers meet UL 65 / CSA C22.2 Electrical Standards. Requires a 120V, 60Hz, 15A circuit to be connected to the 4 x 4 electrical junction box on the top of each locker. Lockers may be daisy-chained together or have an electrical connection made to each locker using the access holes near the top. Determine total power draw per locker by adding the below number(s) together based on the customized locker design: - Low voltage items (lights, fans, sensors, etc.) require 200 Watts per locker. - The electrical outlet is designed for charging phones, tablets and laptops. This requires an additional 150 Watts per locker. Note: If the end user is planning on using the outlet for items that require much more power, such as hair dryers, this should be factored in additionally to the wattage requirements per locker. The electrical connection is to be made at the 4 x 4 electrical junction box located at the top of each locker. Access holes for electrical connections. 6

7 Installation 1. Install four 3/8-16 x 2-1/2 Glide Levelers (10) into the Locker Base (2). a. Screw the Glide Levelers through the bottom of the Locker Base. b. Level and adjust the height of the Base by turning the top of the Glide Levelers. Locker Base (2) 3/8-16 x 2-1/2 Glide Leveler (10) 2. If multiple Wood Lockers are being installed, layout the Bases for all of the Lockers according to the plan drawings and level them individually before connecting them together. Connect using lower adjoining pilot holes 1/4-20 x 5/8 Machine Screw (11) 1/4-20 Lock Nut (12) 3. Connect the Bases together using one 1/4-20 x 5/8 Machine Screw (11) and 1/4-20 Lock Nut (12) through the lower adjoining pilot holes as shown. 7

8 Installation (continued) 4. Depending on the Wood Locker layout configuration, attach the Bases to either a wall or the floor.! CAUTION Inferior or improperly installed fasteners could cause the Wood Locker to tip over. Wall Mount Installation Attach each Base to the wall using the attached Wall Mount Bracket and the appropriate fasteners and method described in the Fasteners - Not Suppled section. Wall Mount Bracket Wall Mount Bracket Note: If the wall is not straight, it may be necessary to add shims behind some of the Wall Mount Brackets. Island Installation (Floor Mount) Attach two Bases back-to-back to the floor by placing an Island Base Mount Bracket over both Wall Mount Brackets and the appropriate fasteners and method described in the Fasteners - Not Suppled section. 9 Installation (continued) 5. Unpack an individual Wood Locker Unit (2) and remove it from the packing crate. Use more than one person and take care to avoid damage.! CAUTION More than one person is needed to lift the Wood Locker Units. 6. Slide the Wood Locker Unit to fit onto the Base. Note: There are cutouts at the back of the Wood Locker which allow it to slide onto the Base without interference. 7. Attach the Wood Locker to the inside of the Base using two 1/4-20 x 5/8 Machine Screws (11). 8. Repeat steps 5-7 for the remaining Wood Locker Units. 1/4-20 x 5/8 Machine Screw (11) 9

10 Installation (continued) 9. Cut the size of any optional Clean-Out Panels (9) narrow enough to fit under the Bases and slide them into position. 10. Attach Front Cover Plates (3) and optional Corner Protect Brackets (4, 5, 6) to each Base using #8 x 5/8 Hex Head Screws (13). 11 Installation (continued) 11. Be sure that the sets of pilot holes in the End Panels are aligned and connect the Wood Locker Units together using 1/4-20 x Connector Bolts (15) and 1/4-20 Cap Nuts (16). 1/4-20 Cap Nut (16) 1/4-20 x Connector Bolt (15) 11

12 Installation (continued) 12. For Wall Mount Installations Only, attach the Wood Lockers to the wall.! CAUTION Inferior or improperly installed fasteners could cause the Wood Locker to tip over. a. Straddle a Locker Spacer Bracket (7) at the top rear of two adjoining Wood Lockers. b. Attach the Locker Spacer Bracket to the back wall using the appropriate fasteners and method described in the Fasteners - Not Suppled section. Note: If the wall is not straight, it may be necessary to add shims behind some of the Locker Spacer Brackets. c. Attach the Locker Spacer Bracket to both Wood Lockers using two #10-16 x 3/4 Pan Head Screws (14). d. Attach the remaining Wall Mount Wood Lockers to the back wall. Attach to the wall #10-16 x 3/4 Pan Head Screw (14) Locker Spacer Bracket (7) 12

13 Care and Maintenance (continued) Electronic Lock If the Wood Locker has an electronic lock, the default user code is Contact Wenger for information about updating the codes. Cleaning For removal of mild stains and mild scuff marks, the polyester wood panels and shelves may be cleaned using an all-purpose household cleaner or just simple mild soap and water. For heavier scuff marks, ink stains, felt pen and magic marker stains, or other tough stains; use a nonabrasive cleane, or an industrial all-purpose cleaner. Ammoniated or vinegar-based glass cleaners also work well for these stains. Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners, as permanent damage could occur to the panel surface. Be sure to quickly remove all cleanser residues with water and wipe dry with a soft cloth. Humidity Control To insure longevity of panel performance, maintain the relative humidity between 25% - 55% at the permanent installation site. Fasteners Check fasteners after each season to ensure that they are not loose or dislodged. Check fasteners at these locations 13

14 Side Closure Panel Accessory Installation Side Closure Panels can be installed on the ends of the Wood Lockers. 1. With the lip facing out, Mount the Side Closure Bracket (18) to the end of the Locker Base using one 1/4-20 x 5/8 Machine Screw (11) and 1/4-20 Lock Nut (12). Lip faces out 1/4-20 Lock Nut (12) Side Closure Bracket (18) 1/4-20 x 5/8 Machine Screw (11) 2. Place the Side Closure Panel (17) into the lip of the Side Closure Bracket and position it to be flush with the Wood Locker end. 3. 15 Helmet & Shoulder Pad Holder Accessory Installation Helmet & Shoulder Pad Holders can be installed on top of the Wood Lockers. 1. Place the Helmet & Shoulder Pad Holder (19) to be centered over the four weldments in the pre-installed rack on top of the Wood Locker 2. Secure the Helmet & Shoulder Pad Holder to the weldment holes using four 3/8-16 x 3/4 Flange Bolts (20). The lips of the Flange Bolts hold it in place. 3. Plug in the fan connectors.
