In Mission Oak or Mission Cherry Available only in 2008 It was the youthful, progressive American consumer, now unshackled by the tiresome restraints of Victorian life, to whom Gustav Stickley introduced his innovative furniture collection in Dubbed the New Furniture, these first designs would lay the groundwork for what ultimately would become his famous Craftsman Collection of Mission furniture designs. The Tom Jones Drink Stand, originally named after Henry Fielding s legendary 18th century literary character, is being reissued as the 2008 Stickley Collector piece in honor of Gustav Stickley s earliest efforts. The stand is reminiscent of the English and Glasgow Arts & Crafts Movement styles that inspired Gustav Stickley during a trip overseas in Its four splayed and sculpted legs have incised, carved detail and are connected by a small, fixed shelf. The stand culminates in a simple top with inverted corners.
