1 Manual Tools Needed: -Cordless Drill (12V or higher) -#2 Square Drive Bit -Hammer -Tape Measure -Speed Square Little Cottage Co. PO Box 455 Berlin, OH Little Cottage Co.
2 1 2 To start with assembly locate the floor and the nest box floor as shown. 3 4 The floor will be marked nest box. That is where the nest box floor will be fastened. Secure with 2 1/2 screws. Locate the 4 lags. Locate metal frame and install on bottom of floor as shown. 5 6 Insert Lags as shown with ratchet. Locate wheels. Construction Manual Little Cottage Co. Page 1
3 7 8 Install wheels and hub cap as shown. Use hammer to tap on hub cap until it is tight. Wheels are installed Included you will find 2= 2x4 s marked. Use on floor as shown to balance floor. Set floor on wheels Floor is finished and ready for walls. Install wall at Nest box. Construction Manual Little Cottage Co. Page 2
4 13 14 Make sure ends are flush. Secure with 2 1/2 screws. Continue with wall on opposite side and repeat from last picture Next install end wall with adult door. 5 19 20 Remove screw as shown. Secure back wall with 2 1/2 screws Next locate nest boxes. Install Next box as shown and secure with 2 1/2 screws Next install nest box side panel as shown. Secure with 1 1/4 zinc screws. Construction Manual Little Cottage Co. Page 4
6 25 26 Make sure siding is flush on bottom of nest box as shown. If bottom is flush, secure with 1 1/4 zinc screws This picture is a view looking down into the nest box, to show the markings where the nest dividers go. 7 31 32 Nest dividers are complete. Locate roost bar Install roost bar 17 1/2 from floor and secure with 2 1/2 screws. Secure outside bottom edge with 1 1/4 screws 8 o.c Secure corners with 1 1/4 zinc screws 8 o.c. Locate trusses. Construction Manual Little Cottage Co. Page 6
8 37 38 Wall top plate is marked where truss needs to be placed as shown. Install truss as shown Secure truss with 2 1/2 screws from bottom of top plate up into truss. Next insert 2 1/2 screw from truss into top plate as shown Locate roof sheeting. Install top section first as shown. Use 1 1/4 zinc screws. Construction Manual Little Cottage Co. Page 7
9 43 44 Continue with roof. Use 1 1/4 zinc screws Continue with roof as shown. Use 1 1/4 zinc screws Make sure truss is in place and secure with 1 1/4 zinc screw. 10 49 50 Next install drip edge which is provided by customer. Continue with drip edge Cut drip edge at each break as shown. Now the cut has been made, continue running it around the building Locate Aluminum corners. Cut at next bend as shown. Construction Manual Little Cottage Co. Page 9
11 55 56 Secure Aluminum corners with white finish nails as shown. You will have shorter aluminum corners for nest box Secure with white finish nails. Next locate nest box lid Secure with 1 1/4 black head screws as shown. Next locate door latch. Construction Manual Little Cottage Co. Page 10
12 61 62 Secure with 1 1/4 black head screws. Continue with latch Install exterior latch. Secure with 1 1/4 black headed screws Install latch as shown and secure with 1 1/4 black headed screws. Measure 11 3/4 from edge of drip edge and snap chalk line. Construction Manual Little Cottage Co. Page 11
13 67 68 Install starter strips. Next install first shingle at chalk line Continue shingling in a staggered fashion as shown. Secure with 3/4 roofing nails. 14 73 74 Next install shingle caps. Install caps center on peak Continue with caps. Caps are complete Locate treated 2x4 and 2x4 blocks. Locate the 3 section panels. Construction Manual Little Cottage Co. Page 13
