2 Assembling the Base Assembly NOTE: 24" Base Assembly shown. PIN CAM BACK TWO (2) HOLES INDICATE BOTTOM OF UNIT 1. Lay back assembly onto two (2) padded saw horses. Insert pins and wood dowels into the holes of the back assembly as shown. Before installing the wood dowel, wet the dowel with a wet sponge to activate the adhesive on the surface of the dowel. NOTE: Make sure the arrow located on each cam is pointed toward the hole that will accept the pin. WOOD DOWEL PADDED SAWHORSE Page 2 of 12

3 CANOPY BACK 2b 2c 2. Align the canopy assembly to the back assembly (2a). TWO (2) HOLES INDICATE BOTTOM OF UNIT Make sure holes on the canopy assembly accept the pins and dowels on the back assembly (2b). 2d Draw each cam lock, in a clockwise direction, into the center of the cam 0º to 75º (no tightening occurs at this point). The cam lock range for tightening is 75º to 195º. Hand tighten until a rigid tensioning is achieved in both cam locks (2c). BACK Install canopy straps between the canopy assembly and the back assembly with two (2) #8-15 x 5/8" pan head wood screws per strap as shown (both sides) (2d). CANOPY STRAP Install eight (8) shelf support pins onto the canopy assembly (2e). 2e 2a CANOPY Page 3 of 12

4 PIN 3. Insert pins and wood dowels into the holes of the toeboard assembly as shown. Before installing the wood dowel, wet the dowel with a wet sponge to activate the adhesive on the surface of the dowel. 5 4b TOEBOARD 4. Align the toeboard assembly to the back assembly (4a). 4a Make sure holes on the toeboard assembly accept the pins and dowels on the back assembly (4b). 4c Draw each cam lock, in a clockwise direction, into the center of the cam 0º to 75º (no tightening occurs at this point). The cam lock range for tightening is 75º to 195º. Hand tighten until a rigid tensioning is achieved in both cam locks (4c). 4b TOEBOARD 4c BACK Page 5 of 12

6 FOAM TAPE PAPER BACKING 5a 5. Peel paper backing from foam tape (5a). Place foam tape onto back of base unit as shown (5b). Cut excess foam tape when finished. 5b Page 6 of 12

7 6. Stand base unit upright. 7. To prevent the base unit from tipping over, place a scrap board along bottom of base unit (7a). Using a quick clamp, secure the scrap board to the bottom of the base (7b). Secure scrap board with a second quick clamp (7c). 7a SCRAP BOARD 7b QUICK CLAMP 6 7c Page 7 of 12

8 Ganging the Base Units 1. Align second base unit with the first base unit. 2. Make sure the front face of each base unit is flush with each other (2a). Secure the canopy assemblies of both base units together, front to back & top to bottom, using a quick clamp (2b). 1 2a QUICK CLAMP 2b NOTE: DO NOT BOLT BASES TOGETHER! Page 8 of 12

9 3. Make sure the front face of all base units are flush with each other before clamping. Secure the back assemblies of both base units together using quick clamps as shown Page 9 of 12

10 DRILL 5/16" DIAMETER CLEARANCE HOLES 4. Make sure the fronts of the base toeboard assemblies are flush. 5. Drill two (2) 5/16" diameter clearance holes through the canopy assemblies as shown. APPROX. 1-1/4" 5 6. Secure using bolts, washers and nuts as shown. Bolts may be inserted from either side. WASHER BOLT WASHER NUT NOTE: DO NOT BOLT BASES TOGETHER! Page 10 of 12

11 7. Drill four (4) 5/16" diameter clearance holes, per mating units, through the back assemblies as shown Secure using bolts, washers and nuts as shown. Bolt may be inserted from either side. APPROX Repeat steps 1 through 8 if more base units are required. APPROX Remove clamps and add canopy dust covers where appropriate. APPROX APPROX. 20 DRILL 5/16" DIAMETER CLEARANCE HOLE NOTE: DO NOT BOLT BASES TOGETHER! Page 11 of 12

12 NOTE: Clean up all sawdust from floor and canopy before moving units against the wall. 11. Move units up against the wall. 12. Level all units. NOTE: Make sure to push down on the base unit when leveling. A lower storage unit will add this weight and ensure a 90 degree angle in the back of the unit Page 12 of 12
