Positive Rake rills METUT s helical flute design provides greater stability for deeper drilling, and larger flute openings for improved chip evacuation. Trochoid-shaped inserts have three cutting edges with superior edge strength compared to other positive rake insert designs. Positive rake drills require less horsepower than negative rake drills. They can, therefore, be used on a wider range of machine tools. lso, positive rake drills provide better chip control when drilling in some materials such as high temperature alloys. ouble Feed rills METUT double feed drills can help you decrease machining time and cut production costs. These revolutionary two effective-flute drills can help decrease machining time and cut production costs by allowing a feed rate that is double that of a conventional indexable drill. Negative Rake rills In applications where horsepower limitations and chip control are not problems, negative rake drills can offer significant cost savings. The square, titanium-coated carbide inserts have eight cutting edges, and the negative rake cutting edges are inherently stronger. Negative rake drills produce more holes per cutting edge and allow drilling at higher feed rates. Spade lade rills METUT offers a complete line of straight shank and taper shank holders in both straight and helical flute geometries. We offer three basic services, all of which result in re-establishment of the original, precisely controlled cutting edge. For high speed steel, solid carbide, and carbide-tipped tools that are not badly worn, a lead sharpening is a very economical way to regain the fine finish and precise sizing these tools provide. If the reamer is badly worn or is undersize, we can resize it to a smaller diameter within its range; or, for carbide tipped reamers, we can replace the carbide and size the reamer to its original diameter. record is kept of the tool size and profile of each new order so it can be precisely duplicated on any recondition order. The drive features a square drive end on a short taper shank. The square eliminates all possibility of tang breakage or corner rounding. METUT two-piece core drill holders are available in long or medium flute lengths with spiral flutes for effective chip disposal. Short holders without flutes are available in morse taper or straight shanks. These holders are used where it is not necessary to guide-in a bushing. Hot, flying chips may be projected from the workpiece during metalcutting. lthough advanced cutting tool materials are designed and manufactured to withstand the high cutting forces and temperatures that normally occur in these operations, they are susceptible to fragmenting in service, particularly if they are subjected to over-stress, severe impact or otherwise abused. Therefore, precautions should be taken to adequately protect workers, observers and equipment against hot, flying chips, fragmented cutting tools, broken workpieces or other similar projectiles. Machines should be fully guarded and personal protective equipment should be used at all times. When grinding advanced cutting tool materials, a suitable means for collection and disposal of dust, mist or sludge should be provided.
