Grinding machines with Andron control will still be supported 1). Clearance end face 2nd dish angle New operation to grind a second dish angle on the end face The second dish angle at the end face enlarges the space at the center of the tool. The axial angle of the first dish angle can now be set to 0. Therefore an improved surface quality on the machined component can be achieved 1) No need for a hardware extension for machines with HMC 600 control. Machines with controls type HMC 400 and 500 require a hardware extension.

7 12 HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO Axial-radial clearance defined on bigger diameter The new functionality allows the user to define the axial radial clearance at the step not only at the small diameter but also on the big diameter Benefi ts: Easy selection and automatic change of the definition saves time Improved possibility to measure the axial angle of the step at the big diameter with defi ned start end point Probing of prefluted blanks out of steptool wizard New probing operation for step tools with prefluted blanks to measure the flute Defi ned at the biggest diameter followed by regrinding the flute Benefi ts: Prefl uted step tool blanks will be measured and reground afterwards For a bigger scope of operation New lift off/approach type for profile tools The new approach/lift off type Wheel center moves perpendicular to the grinding spindle to avoid collision in difficult positions Less programming user friendly Avoid collisions therefor better quality control Quick warm up cycle The new warm up option is integrated and will also be operated in the HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO-Server The function is designed for quick configuration and quick start of the warm up cycle without having any idn Time saving

8 14 HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO Individual selection of IMS compensation IMS has new functionality to individually select which tool parameter is required and should be compensated Compensation possibilities are: Rake angle Tool diameter Core diameter Unfillet option in profile editor This feature allows the user to attach or remove radii without changing the whole contour Easy handling without adjusting the already defined contour Time saving More functionality for the user therefore saving time Allow adding dummy wheelset To select one or more wheel sets without assigning them to a spindle end Therefore it is possible to test new functionalities in the tool idn quickly without changing the original wheel set for grinding More flexibility and timesaving for fast tests without changing the standard wheel sets used for grinding
