Drill ¾-inch pocket holes into the rails and attach to stiles with 1 ¼-inch pocket screws and wood glue. Check for square and adjust if necessary. Drill ¾-inch pocket holes into the top ends of the 1x3 stiles (this will be to attach the top frame in the next step) be mindful where you position these pocket holes to avoid hardware collision. Cut 2x4 boards to length and drill 1 ½- inch pocket holes into ends. Attach to 1x3 frame with 2 ½-inch pocket screws and wood glue as shown. Notice that the 2x4s are flush to the interior sides.

Drill ¾-inch pocket holes into the ends of the short aprons and attach them to the long aprons with 1 ¼-inch pocket screws and wood glue. Be sure to drill ¾-inch pocket holes facing down to attach the frame to the base. Attach constructed frame to the top of the base with 1 ¼-inch pocket screws and wood glue.

Notice that the top ends of the stiles and both ends of the tabletop boards are cut at a 45º angle. I recommend you use these measurements as a guide and measure and cut planked pieces to fit, staggering the boards to achieve a reclaimed wood look. Attach the boards with 1 ¼-inch brad nails and wood glue.

Drill ¾-inch pocket holes and attach with 1 ¼-inch pocket screws and wood glue. Make two of these to go on the front and back of the sideboard. I recommend holding the boards in place and marking the angle, to ensure the most precise fit.

Drill ¾-inch pocket holes and attach to the carcass with 1 ¼-inch pocket screws and wood glue. *Tip: You may want to skip this skep until after you install the drawers, to allow easier access to install drawer slides.

Drill ¾-inch pocket holes and attach to the carcass with 1 ¼-inch pocket screws and wood glue. These shelves should be flush to the back of the sideboard. Optional: iron ¾-inch edge banding onto the front to hide the raw plywood edges. Alternately, you can make these shelves adjustable by using shelf pin jig.

Check for square and adjust if necessary. Measure, mark, and cut ¼-inch plywood bottoms to size. Attach to drawer box with ¾-inch brad nails and wood glue.

Drill ¾-inch pocket holes into the ends of the shorter boards and attach to the longer boards with 1 ¼-inch pocket screws and wood glue. Check for square and adjust if necessary. Measure, mark, and cut ¼-inch plywood bottoms to size. Attach to drawer box with ¾-inch brad nails and wood glue. STEP 17 ATTACH DRAWER FACES AND INSTALL PULLS Measure, mark, and cut 1x4 drawer faces to size. Attach to the drawer boxes with 1 ¼-inch wood screws from the inside of the drawer. Install cup pulls according to manufacturer s directions.

Construct the doors as shown, with 1 ¼-inch wood screws and wood glue. Install door knobs and hinges. Attach hinged doors to the carcass. Optional: attach hardboard backing to the back of the sideboard with ¾-inch brad nails and wood glue. Sand, paint or stain, and finish as desired.
