Read all instructions before using this product! 1. Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries. 2. Observe work area conditions. Keep work area well lighted. 3. Store idle equipment. When not in use, products must be stored in a dry location to inhibit rust. Always lock up products and keep out of reach of children. 4. Use the right product for the job. There are certain applications for which this product was designed. It will do the job better and more safely at the rate for which it was intended. Do not modify this product and do not use this product for a purpose for which it was not intended. 5. Check for damaged parts. Before using any product, any part that appears damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for any broken or damaged parts and any other conditions that may affect its operation. Replace or repair damaged or worn parts immediately. 6. Replacement parts and accessories. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts will void the warranty. 7. Do not operate product if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels on prescriptions to determine if your judgment or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not operate the product. #304 Page 2

3 8. Use eye and ear protection. Always wear ANSI approved impact safety goggles. 9. Do not exceed product s maximum load capacity. 10. Only use on a flat surface. It is easy to lose control of the Cart if attempting to pull a load on a sloping or uneven surface. 11. Wear gloves and avoid sharp edges when assembling. 12. Always check hardware and assembled parts after assembling. All connections should be tight and hardware tightened. 13. Do not allow children to play on, stand upon or climb into the Garden Cart. Warning: The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator. Assembly Your Garden Cart will require complete assembly prior to use. It is important that you read the entire manual to become familiar with the product BEFORE use. Before assembling the Garden Cart, be sure that you have all parts described in the Parts List and Assemby Diagram located on the last pages of this manual. Because of the weight and size of the Garden Cart, it is recommended that another adult is present to assist with assembly. To protect the wood against the elements, you may want to add a coat of varnish, paint or polyurethane (all coatings are not included) before beginning assembly. There are four pieces of wood used in the Garden Cart. The largest is the bottom, then there are two Side Panels and one Rear Panel. Do not fully tighten all hardware until the Garden Cart is fully assembled. For clarification, the manual will refer to the front of the Garden Cart as the end where the Handle is located, and the rear of the Cart as the end the Wheels are located at. Attaching Side Panels On the underside of the Bottom Panel (#1), locate the two vertical holes on each side where the Wheel Axle will be attached. The straight edge of each Side Panel (#2) will face this end of the Bottom Panel (#1). Step 2) Slide the edge of the Bottom Panel (#1) into the space between the Side Panel (#2) and the Side Angle (#7). The Bottom Panel s underside (the side with Handle Clamps (#32) on it) must face the floor-see Figure 1. Line up the holes in the Side Support (#13) with the holes in the Front Protector II (#15). The width of the metal edge on the Bottom Panel (#1) will line up the same as edge on the Side Panel (#2). Note: You may need to loosen the Bolt (#) on the Front Protector II (#15) and adjust the Front Protector II (#15) so that the holes are unobstructed and accessible. #304 Page 3

4 Figure 1 Side Panel (#2) Side Protector I (#11) Side Support (#13) Bolt (#) Bottom Panel (#1) Step 3) Using Bolt (#), insert the Bolt (#) down through the Side Support (#13), Bottom Panel (#1) and into the T-Nuts-see Figure 1. Step 4) Repeat for the second Side Panel (#2). Step 5) Set Cart so that it rests on the flat sides of the Side Panels (#2) and Bottom Panel (#1). You will then be ready to continue assembly. Handle Loosen the Bolts (#) on the Handle Clamps (#32) on Bottom Panel (#1). Pull Handle (#4) free from Handle Clamps and remove plastic sleeve. Step 2) Slide the open ends of the Handle (#4) down through the Handle Clamps (#32). Once a sufficient amount of the Handle (#4) is securely supporting the Bottom Panel (#1), tighten Bolts (#) into Handle Clamps (#32)-refer to figures 2 and 3. 5 Figure 4 Side Panel (#2) Stand (#5) Bolt (#28) Bolt (#) Handle (#4) Bottom Panel (#1) Cross Brace (#6) Attaching Stands Step 2) Step 3) Line up the curved end of the Stand (#5) with the hole in the corner of the Bottom Panel (#1). The flat end will connect at the top edge of the Side Panel (#2)-see Figure 4. Attach the Stand to the Bottom Panel (#1) with Bolt (#) into the T-Nut. Attach the Stand (#5) to the Side Panel (#2) by inserting Bolt (#28) and securing in place with Locking Hex Nut (#). Step 4) Repeat for second Stand (#5). Attaching Cross Brace Line up the two holes in the center of the Cross Brace (#6) with the two holes in the Bottom Panel (#1). These are the only two holes toward the center of the Bottom Panel. Step 2) Insert two Bolts (#28) through the Cross Brace (#6) and into the Bottom Panel (#1). Do not fully tighten the Bolts (#28) until the Cross Brace is fully assembled into place-see Figure 4. Step 3) Attach each end of the Cross Brace (#6) to one Stand (#5) at midpoint. Secure in place with Bolt (#28) and thread on Locking Hex Nut (#). Do not fully tighten hardware into place until assembly is complete. Axle and Wheels Step 2) Locate the Axle Clamps (#31) in the hardware bag. Loosely attach the Axle Clamps (#31) to the Bottom Panel (#1) with Bolts (#). Loosely slide the Axle (#35) through the Axle Clamps (#31) until both sides of the Axle are equidistant from the Bottom Panel (#1). Tighten down the Bolts (#) on the Axle Clamps (#31). #304 Page 5

6 Figure 5 Cotter Pin (#33) Large Washer (#34) Step 3) Slide one Wheel (#36) onto each end of the Axle (#35). Slide on Washer-Large (#34) after placing the Wheel (#36) onto the Axle (#35)-see Figure 5. Step 4) Insert Cotter Pin (#33) through the holes in each end of the Axle (#35). Once the Cotter Pin (#33) is in place, spread the ends of the Cotter Pin (#33) so that it will not slip out during operation. Completion Complete attaching the Side Panel (#2) to the Bottom Panel (#1) with Bolts (#). Make certain that all remaining hardware is secure and fully tightened. Front Panel The Front Panel (#3) can be completely taken off, or can be set in place to enclose a load in the Garden Cart. The Front Panel (#3) attaches to the two Side Panels (#2) and the Bottom Panel (#1) with with two Lock Handles (#18). Simply slide these into place in Lock 1 (#16). Slide the Hooks (#30) over the pins on the Side Panels (32). Unpacking When unpacking your " Garden Cart, check to make sure the following parts are included.
