understanding fascias Fascias complete the elevations of panel walls providing functionality and aesthetic options. UN_ applications (used on panels without freestanding feet) Fascias are available up to 96" wide to span the entire width of a District panel, creating a distinctive District aesthetic Fascias can also span half of a panel to provide additional functionality to a workstation Fascias are available for Flush, Elevated, Freestanding and Panel with Accessory Rail applications Tackboard and Whiteboard Fascias can be framed to provide a high aesthetic level to panels, or unframed to provide cost effective alternatives in areas where functionality and cost are factors Fascias are available with cut outs to allow access to power either above or below the worksurface level Fabric and metal fascias provide a cost effective alternative to solid fascias Accessory fascias are available in a variety of heights to store personal items above the worksurface Solid fascias are available in Laminate, Seamless, Flintwood and Natural Veneer to provide a high level of aesthetic and a furniture look and feel to a workstation Fascias can be segmented from 29" high or can be monolithic on 42" high panels Stretch solid fascias span half way across a three-way connector to conceal the connector and provide an un-interrupted aesthetic. A second fascia must be specified to cover the remaining half of the three-way connector. Available in both Left and Right extensions Window fascias mount into a panel wall frame to add lightness to a workstation. They do not mount to the top of a frame

understanding fascias for freestanding district UA_ applications (used on panels with freestanding feet) Dedicated fascias are available for freestanding applications. They are a different height than standard fascias to accommodate the 1/2" thick support foot. A Fascias for Freestanding District is nominally 28" Fabric and Metal fascias provide a cost effective alternative to solid fascias. Fabric fascias are not available in 27" or 28" heights, must be used a 6" plus a 21" or 22" high fascia Freestanding fascias are only required at the base level of the panel

understanding the fascia type UA_27 UN_21 UN_27 District Flush or Convertible Panel with Accessory Beam & Support Foot for Freestanding District Applications When using a panel type with Accessory Beam and Support Foot fascias are needed in order to accommodate the 1/2" for support foot as well as 1" for accessory beam Use fascias for freestanding District (UA coded fascias) at 27" high (vs 28") to account for Accessory Beam UA_6 District Flush or Convertible Panel with Accessory Beam & Support Foot for Freestanding District Use fascias for freestanding District (UA coded fascias) on the base level (6") only For upper level use standard (UN) District fascia codes but 1" shorter (21" vs 22") to account for accessory beam District Panel Wall with Accessory Beam When no foot is necessary, use standard or District fascia codes (UN) but 1" shorter (27" vs 28" for Flush or Convertible Panel or 21" vs 22" for Elevated Panel) to account for accessory beam The only way to power a 29" high panel with accessory beam (not freestanding) is with a 27" high solid fascia (no fabric) or metal options UA_28 UN_22 UN_28 UA_6 Support Foot for Freestanding District When using the Support Foot (UAFFN), UA_ fascias are required UA_ fascias are only required on the bottom half of the panel Support Foot for Freestanding District Use fascias for freestanding District (UA coded fascias) on the base level (6") only For upper level use standard District fascia (UN) District Flush or Convertible Panel Use standard District fascia codes (UN) If UA_ fascias are specified they will not fit Only UN Fascias Only UN Fascias Only UA Fascias Only UN Fascias With Freestanding Foot Without Freestanding Foot

fascia basics (continued) The following charts outline the number of clips required for each clip mounted fascia. Panel Panel Number of Clips Height Width Flush Elevated Panel Panel Number of Clips Height Width Flush Elevated

planning with fascias The following should be considered when planning with District Fascias. clip-mounting vs. slot-mounting Fascias with Clips (also referred to as D Style fascias) are intended to mount to Flush or Elevated Panels. The clip on the Fascia connects to the clip on the panel wall frame to provide the District aesthetic, where fascias sit outside of the frame Fascias that mount into slots (also referred to as L Style fascias) are intended to mount to the Convertible Panel. There are no clips on the fascias or the panel frame; all fascias mount into the vertical slots of the panel wall. This will not interfere with slot accessibility for mounted storage or supports Clip-mounted fascias (also referred to as D Style fascias) can be mounted to a Convertible Panel, however a Fascia Clip Kit UNELK will be required the clips are field installed to the inside of the panel wall frame Slot-mounted Fascias (also referred to as L Style fascias) can be mounted to a Flush or Elevated panel that is complete with clips however, the fascia will only be slot-mounted. The clip will not be the method of mounting

planning with fascias (continued) fascia widths 60" 66" 66" Fascias can be specified to span the entire width of a panel wall On panel walls wider than 60" (which consist of two equally sized panel frames) two fascias of equal size can be specified, one for each section of the panel Fascia widths can be different on opposite sides of a panel, and above and below the 29" high datum 3" Two Stretch Fascias span across a three-way connector to conceal the threeway connector and provide a clean aesthetic A single stretch fascia cannot be mounted over the entire three-way connector. It must be covered by two Stretch Fascias with 1 1/2" of overhang from each Fascia Fascias above the 29" datum height are typically split to add functionality to a workstation Fascias below the 29" datum height are typically split when worksurface height adjustability is required Height-adjustable cantilevers require the vertical slot on a panel wall to be exposed for mounting (see Supports section) Fascias above and below the worksurface can also be split if specific power/communication outlet locations are required Fascia widths under 42" have cut outs available only in the center of the fascia, and fascia widths over 66" have power available only on the right or left side, so splitting fascias into smaller sizes can provide power closer to the center of the panel wall Fascia widths over 66" cannot span over smaller panel frames that are not the same width All clip-mounted fascias and Flush and Elevated panels have specific clip locations which must line up Slot-mounted fascias are often reinforced at the center point of the fascia, therefore fascia widths must be equal width full or less

planning with fascias (continued) The following should be considered when planning with District Fascias. fascia heights Fascias are available in a number of heights to mount above and below the 29" datum height line or in monolithic applications on 42" high panels Only the 6" and 29" high panel rail are fixed so a variety of combinations can be achieved with fascias and panel wall rails or light block rails the following demonstrate some common layouts Note: The bottom fascia in flush panel applications is 1" above the floor to allow for leveling, so when specifying fascias below the 29" datum height, the combined heights will only be 28" all panel heights 28" fascia height 29" total from floor District monolithic aesthetic Segmentation only at the 29" datum height 22" fascia 29" worksurface mounting height 6" storage mounting height 1" leveling range 1" leveling range Below worksurface segmentation for added functionality 6" and 29" high horizontal segmentation allows for worksurface and storage mounting 15" 22" 51" 28" 22" 66" 6" 1" leveling range Mounting above 29" datum height 22" high fascia can be used above or below the 29" datum height Additional panel rails or light block rails are required in one location, (51" height in this example) 42" high panels only 6" Above worksurface segmentation Any 6" high fascia that is above the 29" datum height is dimensionally the same as a 6" high fascia below the 29" datum height. They are interchangeable if reconfiguration is required Additional panel rails or light block rails are required in two locations (36" and 42" heights in this example) 42" 42" Monolithic fascias are available for 42" high panels only The 41" height is for Flush Panel applications and the 35" height is for Elevated Panel applications

planning with fascias (continued) The following should be considered when planning with District Fascias. window fascias Window fascias are mounted into a panel wall frame, they do not mount above the frame like the add-on window A panel wall up to 60" in width is made up of one section, a window fascia can be mounted into the frame to span the entire width Panels over 60" wide are made up of 2 sections, so cannot accommodate a single window fascia Two equal width windows must be specified to span the entire width of the panel If a single span of glass is desired for panels over 60" wide, the add-on window must be used as it mounts above the frame

planning with fascias (continued) The following should be considered when planning with District Fascias. power/communications fascias Power and Communications Fascias are available with cut outs for one duplex and communications or two duplex and communications, however the cut out configuration and location is based on the width of the panel. The chart below outlines the possible configurations. (Note: for this example, all cut outs are shown at desk height only) one duplex and communications cut out 24" - 36" 42" - 96" 42" - 96" 66" - 96" 51" 29" Centered Left Right Both two duplex and communications cut out 36" 42" - 96" 42" - 96" 66" - 96" 51" 29" Centered Left Right Both

planning with fascias (continued) Power/communications fascias are available with cut outs at the top or bottom of a fascia or flush at the base of the 28" high fascia only. The chart below outlines the possible locations. (Note, for this example all cut outs are shown centered on a 36" wide panel only) top location 36" 22" 66" 29" 13" 22" 22" 28" 13" high 22" high 22" high 22" high 28" high bottom location 36" 66" 7" 13" 22" 37" 29" 22" 7" high 13" high 22" high 22" high 37" high (available on 60" width only) flush location 28" (Above 6" Rail) When a power and communications fascia is installed on one side of a panel only, there is a restriction of which fascias can be mounted on the back side of the panel All slot-mounted fascias can be installed to the backside of the panel No clip-mounted fascias can be installed to the backside of the panel except for the Solid Fascia (UNESD) If it is essential that one be mounted in this location, the Light Block Rail must be used behind it and it must be rotated 90, allowing more room inside the panel frame

planning with fascias for freestanding applications electrical/communication outlet locations When planning with Freestanding District careful attention must be paid to the location of power/communication outlets and support feet so that they do not interfere with each other. The structure of the support foot runs from the bottom of the panel to the top 24/30" wide panels cannot accept a power location Due to potentials interference between foot location and power & data, power & communication fascias have more cut out location options than standard District power/communication fascias up to 60" Left (LL) Left Center (LC) Right Center (RC) Right (RR) fascias 66" - 96" Left & Right (LR) Left Center & Right (LC) Right Center & Left (RC) Due to structure of Support Foot (UAFFN) running from bottom to top power location cannot be vertically above foot The following are recommended configurations for planning power/communication locations and support foot locations. 66" - 96" 66" - 96" base feed fascias Left Center (LC) Right (RR) Left (LL) Right Center (RC) When specifying Freestanding Base Feed Fascias, the location of the base feed cut out will vary depending on the width. 36" - 60" 66" - 96" When a 36" - 60" wide fascia is specified the Left and Right cutout will be justified to the outer sides of the fascia When a 66" - 96" wide fascia is specified the Left and Right cutout will be justified to the center of the frame
