2 Bolt / Hole Pattern Reference Information. Dual Hole Patterns Order numbers ending in 1118 (coulters and disc blades) means that there are two hole patterns combined into one. By putting the blade on in one direction it fits the 1 square axle, the other way (1/8 of a turn) the blade fits 1 1/8 square axle. Order numbers ending in 1814 (coulters and disc blades) means that there are two hole patterns combined into one. By putting the blade on in one direction it fits the 1 1/8 square axle, the other way (1/8 of a turn) the blade fits 1 1/4 square axle. This hole pattern is a combination of DW, KW, and DMW hole patterns to fit all John Deere planters after JD 7000 and fits the older Kinze 6 bolt. This is a combination hole pattern that will fit Yetter, Salford, Great Plains hole patterns and also DMI/Blue Jet hole patterns. Holes are slightly slotted to fit both bolt circles. Coulter Blade Helpful Information: Fluted Coulter (also known as a ripple coulter) Good penetration and cutting - moderate soil disturbance and tilling action- good for varying conditions. Used mostly on moldboard plows, tool bars, and fertilizer coulters. Plain Coulter Good penetration and cutting - Virtually no soil disturbance. Used mainly on disc chisels, tool bars, stabilizer coulters, and seed disc openers. Notched Coul- Good penetration and cutting in heavy residue - little to no soil disturbance.
