Per ANSI A37.3 and A08.9, the Magnifica installer must be certified by the Advanced Certification for Tile Installers (ACT) program. For installation of all polished, polished glazed, lappato, and honed porcelain tiles, use a grout release prior to grouting to prevent absorption of the grout into the tile's micropores. Use a grout color that matches the predominant color of the tile. Refer to grout manufacturer's specifications to ensure use of proper grout. Refer to tile manufacturer's specifications to determine if the polished or honed tile is appropriate for commercial applications. Tiles with a polished finish are not appropriate for wet, exterior, or countertop applications. Do not use acidic cleaners. Merchandising materials and samples are for general reference only and representative of a product's potential characteristics. Tile is subject to variation in color/shade, size, texture, and finish. Field, mosaic and trim tile may not match exactly. Blend tiles from different boxes to achieve consistent shade distribution. Installer and end user must conduct a dry mock layout under proper lighting conditions to inspect the product. Installation constitutes product acceptance. For a large wall or floor, you can lay the faces in sequential order to create the illusion of a massive single piece of stone. The most common moving procedure for 6mm is two people equipped with the ETM (European Tile Masters) grip or the ETM slide. With 2mm, you need at least 3 people equipped with the ETM grip. 20 KEYS TO SUCCESSFUL INSTALLATIONS Bedrosians requires all installers of Magnifica Porcelain to receive F.A.C.T., Factory Advanced Comprehensive Training from Stonepeak Ceramics. F.A.C.T., Factory Advanced Comprehensive Training, is implemented by Stonepeak experts knowledgeable with large porcelain panels. Following procedural training course activities and successful completion of F.A.C.T. testing, participants are ready to confidently begin installing panels now possessing the technical aspects and hands on experience this one of a kind training offers. You must honor all expansion joints or any defects in the substrate and mitigate prior to installation. The back of the panel and substrate should be spread the same direction at the shortest distance with a modified LFT thin set mortar to achieve 00% coverage. Flatness must be considered when installing large porcelain panels. The TCNA Handbook states, The finish flatness requirement for ceramic tile installations is /4" in 0' according to ANSI A The finish flatness requirement for stone installations is /8" in 0' according to MIA. If a more stringent finish flatness tolerance is desired, it must be clearly specified and the subsurface tolerance must be adjusted accordingly. Tiles, mortars, and grouts do not provide a completely waterproof barrier. Detail and specify LATICRETE Hydro Ban in all wet areas and over existing, non-structural, hairline cracks ( /8" or 3mm) installation process will also assure proper coverage for bonding. INSTALLATION TIPS MANIPULATION (Full Cuts, Cut Outs, Mitered Edges) The score and snap is the preferred method for straight cuts (from one end of the panel to the other) using a recommended tool. When planning a cut that will be the full length of the panel, either with a plunge cut, or starting at the edge, mark and drill a relief hole at the termination point of the cut, then cut Recommended techniques should be followed to move air out from underneath the panels. The setting material manufacturers have vast experience in the installation of porcelain tiles and large porcelain panels. Accordingly, we strongly recommend that the installer should contact the relevant setting material manufacturers and seek their advice prior to installation of our large porcelain panels.
