These instructions were written using a 2018 Mazda 6. 4 1. OEM Front License Plate Removal Figure 1a a) Use a large flat blade screw driver to remove the two (2) screws circled in red in Figure 1a. b) Use a 10mm socket wrench to remove the two (2) screws circled in red in Figure 1b. c) Locate the hooks that attach the license plate bracket to the lower grill. You will need to reach in behind the license plate bracket (see blue arrows in Figure 1b). Tabs circled in red in Figure 1c on bracket already removed from car.. Figure 1b d) Push the ends of the hooks in the direction of the blue arrows in Figure 1c to release them from the lower grill. e) Remove the license plate bracket. Figure 1c f) Fit the two (2) black plastic plugs (included with the relocation kit) and fill the license plate screw holes. PAGE 4

5 2. Locate & Remove Tow Hook Cover Figure 2a a) Locate the tow hook cover on the front bumper. Circled in blue in Figure 2a. Figure 2b b) Use a small flat head screw driver or pick to remove the tow hook cover in blue in Figure 2b. Place the tool into the small slot shown with the blue arrow, then pry off. Be careful to not damage the paint. Figure 2c c) Remove the tow hook cover and store in safe place. PAGE 5

6 3. Install License Plate Kit Figure 3a a) Install the provided tow hook adapter. Use the 17mm socket and torque wrench to torque to 45 ft-lbs. Shown in Figure 3a. Figure 3b b) Install the license plate bracket & large socket cap screw. Use the 8mm Allen Socket to tighten cap screw. Circled in blue in Figure 3b. Figure 3c c) Level the license plate bracket. Then torque the socket cap screw to ft-lbs. PAGE 6

7 3. Install License Plate Kit (continued) Figure 3d d) Install the provided lexan plate & countersink screws. Install one of the screws through the lexan plate and bracket. Use the 1/8 Allen Wrench to hold the countersink screws. Circled in blue in Figure 3d. See next step. Figure 3e e) Install the ny-lock nuts. Use the box end of the 3/8 wrench to hold the nut, then thread the countersink screw into the nut. Circled in blue in Figure 3e. Repeat for all four screws. Only tighten the countersink screws till snug, or you may risk cracking the lexan plate. Figure 3f c) Install your license plate & cover. Use the provided theft resistant cap screws and the provide bit with a bit driver. Circled in blue in Figure 3f. PAGE 7
