5 Milling Cutters, Saws, Gear Cutting Tools and Broaches Sectional Committee, PE 11 FOREWORD This Indian Standard ( First Revision ) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards, after the draft finalized by the Milling Cutters, Saws, Gear Cutting Tools and Broaches Sectional Committee had been approved by the Production Engineering Division Council. This standard was first published in This revision is taken up to bring this standard in line with International practices. Following changes have been made in this revision: a) End mill with ball nosed end have been included. b) Sampling clause has been incorporated. c) End mill with morse taper shank tanged end deleted. In the preparation of this standard considerable assistance has been derived from IS0 1641/21978 End mills and slot drills : Part 2 Milling cutters with morse taper shank, issued by the International Organization for Standardization ( IS0 ) and DIN 845 (Part 1 ) 1981 End mills with mocse taper shanks dimensions, issued by the Deutsches Institut fiir Normung ( DIN ). In reporting the results of a test made in accordance with this standard, if the final value, observed or calculated, is to be rounded off, it shall be done in accordance with IS 2 : 1960 Rules for rounding off numerical values ( revised ). The number of significant places retained in the rounded off value should be the same as that of the specified value in this standard.

All dimensions Range of Length A ~ Above Up to and Including _ in millimetres.
