2 PROBAD Overview PROBAD is a solution for the code-based strength calculations of pressure parts. It allows re-checking, designing or optimizing of vessel- and pipe components according to the following standards: AD 2000-sheets TRD-sheets EN 12952, EN 13480, EN 13445, EN 1591 ASME Sect. I, ASME Sect. VIII/1, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3 WRC 107, WRC 297 EN- and DIN- pipe series ASME pipe series 2

3 PROBAD Overview The modular design allows licensing individual modules in relation to the company needs. PROBAD allows re-checking, designing or optimizing of component dimensions and components. Norms and standards regarding dimensions, wall thicknesses, tolerances etc. are included. EN, DIN and ASME material databases are included. Code-bases Safety factors acc. to different Standards are available and can be modified by the user. Inputs and outputs are available in German and English language. PROBAD provides convenient help screens, either as text or graphic. Hotline Service is included in Maintenance contracts. 3

14 PROBAD Material databases DIN/EN The material database FEZEN provides material properties for metallic materials for standardized materials acc. DIN- and EN-Material-Codes/Standards: Approximately material sheets containing material data basing on EN material codes. Additional deviations in line with EN 12952, EN 13480, EN and the AD-2000 and TRD Approximately 700 material sheets containing material data mainly basing on DIN material codes, besides that basing on VdTÜV and SEW material data sheets. Additional deviations in line with AD-2000 and TRD codes. FEZEN Information System The FEZEN information system" provides the interactive use of the material databases for EN- and DIN-materials and is even working independent of PROBAD calculation modules. The program is used to recall material properties and to print material sheets. 14

16 PROBAD Material databases ASME The PROBAD modules basing on ASME-Codes (ASME Sect. I, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, ASME Sect. VIII.) are connected to an ASME material database. Approximately 300 SA-steel values are available Access to ASME II Part D (BPVC) materials in preparation. Either the allowable stresses or stress values can be defined for a material on the input panels. DIN/EN and ASME material databases are revised permanently by SIGMA. Annual updates provide the latest strength values. 16

17 PROBAD Highlights PROBAD is of modular design; this enables licensing individual modules in relation to the company needs (see available PROBAD solutions). PROBAD allows not only re-checking defined component dimensions, but also designing or optimizing components. The comprehensive component databases of PROBAD include additional norms and standards regarding dimensions, wall thicknesses, tolerances etc. Material databases containing EN, DIN and ASME materials are supporting the calculation modules. The values can be edited or modified individually by the user. Standard-safety factors of the calculation rules are stored and can be modified in accordance with the projects requirements. For all PROBAD modules screen inputs and print outputs are currently available in German and English. The dialog system provides convenient help screens, either as text or graphic. PROBAD is continuously subject to technical changes and novelties as also for monitoring systems etc. Based on the various maintenance agreements, SIGMA GmbH is obliged to keep the solutions up to date by annual releases, so the PROBAD modules are always following the actual codes/standards. For PROBAD licenses with maintenance contract a hotline is available. 17

19 New Interface with well-known controls - SIGMA developed a new User- Interface - The new Interface uses controls from many well-known programs - All Modules of the 14 PROBAD- Solutions will be used from within the same interface - For now ASME B31.1 and ASME B31.3 A/K - Online-Updates of the Interface and the calculation-core of the renewed modules - Complete overhaul of the process of installation and the Licence-Dongle upgrade

20 New file format with extended functionality - Transition from Folder-Based structure to a single-file solution - Multiple Orders in a single file - Multiple Drawings in a single order - Drawings of multiple modules inside a single order - Simplified handling when transferring and securing data files

21 Program and file format backwards compatible - Import of existing legacy systems (at least the latest "Classic" release) into the new format

22 License management at runtime of program - Assignment and release of licenses within the program during runtime - Project files of any content can be opened at any time - Only drawings for which a license of the corresponding calculation module has been granted can be displayed, edited, calculated or documented.

23 Material selection revised - Material selection has been extended with various filters - It can be filtered for almost all data - Material references are now mandatory, these are orderspecific - A data sheet with the available material data can be retrieved for each material

24 Interface - Miscellaneous I - Notes on menu commands provide short help - Commands that are currently unavailable give an indication of the reason for deactivation - List of recently opened files - Accessing the PROBAD Manual Examples - Update-News etc.

25 Interface - Miscellaneous II - Icons in the overview give hints on the standard of the drawing and the type of file. - Text fields accept input of any length, if the calculation core should have a length limit, a corresponding tooltip is used to indicate this. - Missing and incorrect entries are indicated by a marker. - A tooltip gives a hint about the error

26 Help and Support - integrated program help - either context-based, so that the help associated with the activated input field is displayed - or free navigable - images/drawings can be displayed in separate windows - Send support requests via directly from within the program - The currently opened project file is attached to the (optional) - SIGMA support team usually responds on the same day
