(The second time through the dance, cast to the bottom.) 3 MACLEOD S FANCY Jig; 4 cpls; 32 bars st and 4 th cpls set facing diagonally in, 1 st man and 4 th woman turn ¾ RH and cast out the end of their own line and back to places, while 1 st woman and 4 th man cast to opposite ends and then turn ¾ RH in center back to places Reels of 4 on the sides st and 4 th cpls half-turn 2 nd and 3 rd cpls to form a Saint Andrews cross, and set. 1 st and 4 th cpls turn corners RH and finish 2, 4, 1, 3 on own sides st and 4 th cpls set and cross to opposite sides, women between men. 4 th cpl lead up RH, cross and cast while 1 st cpl lead down LH, cross and cast.

2 2 4 THE BELLE OF BON ACCORD Strathspey; 4 cpls; 32 bars st and 3 rd women cross down between cpl below to men's side, cast up, and dance into the center to finish facing down. 1 st and 3 rd men dance straight across the dance, cast off, and dance in to finish facing up. They end in a line of four up and down the center. 2 nd and 4 th cpls step up half a place on bars RH across top and bottom Reel of four in the center st and 3 rd cpls turn 3/4 with RH to finish down one place facing up with nearer hands joined. 2 nd and 4 th cpls dance up on the sides, then in to join nearer hands facing down All set, then dance four hands round to the left, finishing on the side lines. 3 3 7 ALEX DOUG S JIG or THE DUNBLANE DRUMMER Jig; 3 cpls; 32 bars st cpl set, cross RH, cast, turn LH to face 1 st corner nd and 3 rd cpls dance two continuous RS reels of three on the sides of the dance. 2 nd cpl start in and down, 3 rd cpl in and up. 1 st cpl dance the track of a RS reel of three across the dance. Start by giving RS to 1 st corner. At the end of the first reel, 1 st cpl turn LH and continue to reel RS across the dance, man up, woman down. At the end, slight LH turn to face 1 st corners st cpl turn 1 st corner RH, pass partner RS, turn 2 nd corner LH, and dance diagonally to progressed positions. 8 THE PEAT FIRE FLAME Reel; 3 cpls; 40 bars st cpl cast (2 nd cpl move up), dance half figure eight round 2 nd cpl, turn LH to face 1 st corners st cpl turn 1 st corners RH, pass right, turn 2 nd corners LH, pass left to face 1 st corners again st cpl half reels with 1 st corners, pass LS, then 2 nd corners, pass LS, to end facing 1 st corners on opposite sides st cpl set to 1 st corners, then pull back RS and skip change round each other to face 2 nd corners, set to them, pulling back RS skip change round each other to 2 nd place on opposite sides and face out st cpl cast right and dance up or down the middle to 2 nd place while corners dance half rights and lefts (no courtesy turn) All turn partners RH.

4 4 9 THE DUCHESS TREE Strathspey; 3 cpls; 32 bars 1-8 Reels of three on the side. To enter the reels, 1 st cpl dance in slightly then cast off on own sides. 2nd cpl, giving LH, lead up crossing over. 3 rd cpl dance in to join nearer hands facing down, then cast up. All join hands with partners when possible in the reels. At the end, 1 st cpl dance up (nearer hands joined) to top place, then turn towards one another to join nearer hands facing down. 2 nd cpl finish on the side lines in 2 nd place, still on the opposite sides. 3 rd cpl dance down (nearer hands joined) to 3 rd place, then turn towards one another to join nearer hands facing up All set. (Travel on the 2 nd part of the setting.) Dance six hands around to the left for 2 bars. Each man turns the woman on his right (i.e., the one following him in the circle) BH for 2 bars, opening up to re-form the circle. All continue to circle left to finish on the side lines with 2 nd cpl still on wrong sides st and 2 nd cpls dance RH across; at the end they retain hold of partners by RH and finish facing up st cpl dance up slightly, cast off to 2 nd place, and lead back to top ready for allemande. 2 nd cpl lead up crossing back to own sides, then cast to second place and meet, ready for allemande st and 2 nd cpls allemande. 10 THE HAZEL TREE Jig; 3 cpls; 32 bars st and 2 nd cpls dance the Espagnole, ending with 1 st cpl facing 1 st corners st cpl turn 1 st corner RH, pass RS, turn partner s 1 st corner LH, pass LS to face 2 nd corners st cpl turn 2 nd corner RH, pass RS, turn partner s 2 nd corner LH, pass LS to finish facing down in 2 nd place, side by side st cpl, joining LH, dance down between 3 rd cpl, cross and cast up to 2 nd place nd, 1 st, and 3 rd cpls turn RH. 11 BRATACH BANA Reel; 3 cpls; 32 bars st cpl turn RH and cast off to 2 nd place on own sides. At the same time, corners dance one bar on the side lines toward 2 nd or 3 rd place and then one bar to the middle of the dance and join nearer hands All set advancing, passing LS st and 4 th cpls set advancing as others full turn BH to face the middle of the dance Four hands round top and bottom. 13 NETHERBY HALL Reel; 2 cpls; 32 bars st man starts a reel of three across the dance with 2 nd cpl, giving LS to 2 nd woman. At the end of Bar 4, when just below his partner, 1 st man "picks her up" with hands crossed in front and they dance the second half of the reel together st cpl, still together, dance a further half reel of three with 2 nd cpl to finish with 1 st cpl dancing towards the centre of the dance from top place on the ladies' side, while 2 nd cpl are in second place on the wrong sides facing out st cpl, dropping left hands but retaining right, lead down the dance followed by 2 nd cpl. Chase back to own sides anti-clockwise. 15 ANNA HOLDEN'S STRATHSPEY Strathspey; 2 cpls; 32 bars st and 2 nd cpls dance RH across; 2 nd cpl end facing out st cpl cross down to 2 nd place and stay facing out, while 2 nd cpl cast up to top place on own sides. 7-8 Turn with the appropriate hand to form a line of four across the dance in top place facing down with 1 st cpl between 2 nd st and 2 nd cpls dance down in a line of four. On bar 12, 1 st cpl draw 2 nd cpl into the middle below them, 1 st cpl turn towards each other and both cpls join nearer hands facing up st cpl, followed by 2 nd cpl, dance up for two bars, then 1 st cpl cast off to 2 nd place on opposite sides while 2 nd cpl dance up to 1 st place Set and then "petronella in tandem," repeat Set on the sides, dance four hands round half way st cpl turn BH 1½ times to finish in 2 nd place. 16 RAMADAN-CE (Reel; 3 cpl; 32 bars st cpl dance Inveran Reels with 2 nd and 3 rd cpls st cpl cross RH, cast one place & turn RH to face 1 st corners st cpl dance RSh round 1 st corner, pass RSh & dance RSh round 2 nd corner to end 2 nd place opposite side while 1 st corners dance in, half turn RH, twirl & dance out to each others place, 2 nd corners dance similarly. On bar 8, join non-partner again RS half reels of three. On bar 4, 1 st and 3 rd cpls join partners again LS half reels of three st cpl turns 3 rd cpl 1½ times, passing between 3 rd cpl to begin, leaving 3 rd cpl in 2 nd place. At the end, 1 st cpl cross down st man turns 4 th man 1½ times RH; 1 st woman turns 4 th woman 1½ times LH. 18 LADY PEAK S STRATHSPEY Strathspey; 3 cpls; 32 bars st and 2 nd cpls set; 2 nd cpl cast to 1 st place while 1 st cpl dance down, cast behind 3 rd cpl and lead up to 2 nd place facing up st cpl in promenade hold dance half RS reel of three with 2 nd corners (2 nd woman and 3 rd man); at the end 1 st cpl swivel inwards to face toward woman s side in promenade hold for half reel of three with 1 st diagonal (RS to 3 rd woman) Repeat starting down (RS to 3 rd man s position); repeat out men s side (RS to 2 nd man s position) nd and 3 rd cpls set and cross RH, twice.
