5 Host Preparation Here are a few tips to help you prepare yourself and your cast for the murder mystery. Read the Guide on How to Host a Host-Party Murder Mystery. This guide will give you all the specifics on preparing for and hosting your party. This guide should have been ed to you upon purchase. 6 Guest Instructions Before The Party With your invitation, you should receive these instructions and details of the character you are going to play together with your costume ideas and a pre game clue. (This clue helps to set the scene for the evening s events). Follow the costume suggestions but feel free to improvise wherever you prefer. On The Night On arrival at the party you may be given a nametag or label (please be careful with delicate fabrics). The host will then make an announcement about what has just happened and the mystery will begin. You will be given your player clues and the events will unfold. On your first slip is some secret information, which you should not reveal unless directly challenged. Your slip will also tell you whether you are the murderer or not. If you are the murderer you may lie as much as you like. If you are not the murderer you must tell the truth. As the evening progresses you will be able to ask and answer questions, read clues and form your opinion as to the identity of the murderer. At the end of all the rounds the host will ask each player to make an accusation, giving reason, motive and method, of who they think is the murderer. After everybody has guessed the host will play the MP3 file containing the solution. If the host is unable to play the MP3 file then he/she will read the solution. 7 Round 1 - Danger in the dungeon Round Instructions Willie Survive reads out the introductions part 1 and 2 (see below) The guests should then read out their 'Reveal' slips to introduce themselves. INTRODUCTION PART 1 TO BE READ BY WILLIE SURVIVE Good evening everybody and welcome to Doom Castle. I am Willie Survive and I am the nephew and assistant to Lord Harbinger of Doom, the famous demon summoner and slayer. You may all be wondering why you have been summoned here tonight to this special dungeon here at Doom Castle, the home of Lord Harbinger. Uncle Harry, sorry Lord Harbinger, has been working on a special summoning spell to bring multiple spirits together in one place at the same time. For many years he has been slaying demons and evil spirits as they crossed over from the other side. He then started using his own summoning spells to trap and slay demons that were crossing regularly and killing humans. He found a spell in the Book of Evil that could summon multiple spirits into one location. This special spell was designed to summon the spirits in a human physical form so that they would lose any special powers that they may have had. Lord Harbinger set up this special dungeon which has been sealed by a spell so that none of the summoned spirits can escape. We have both been working on personal protection spells so we couldn t be attacked by any spirits that were summoned. Lord Harbinger is just recovering from the effects of the summoning behind the screen so, if I move the screen, he will join us as you all prepare for your first meal in many years. Oh my goodness! Lord Harbinger is lying on the floor and he has a small sword sticking out of his back. It looks like he is dead. INTRODUCTION PART 2 (TO BE READ BY WILLIE SURVIVE) Hello again, ladies and gentlemen. I checked Lord Harbinger and I am afraid that he is dead. He has been stabbed through the heart with his own sword cane which he carried with him everywhere. As the room is sealed with a special spell the murderer must be here in the dungeon. While I was examining Lord Harbinger I reinforced my own protection spell so I can now join you while we try to work out who killed Lord Harbinger of Doom. I have been resting for many years until recently when Lord Harbinger started sending out his summoning messages. I seem to have been summoned rather a lot recently. I think it is something to do with having lived in Doom Castle a long time ago. I came to live in England back in the 1800 s and had many happy years here. I think my aura must remain in the castle as whenever Harry tried a summoning I received the call as well. This clue should be revealed to others. As you have probably guessed my name is Count Dracula and I am the most famous vampire that has ever lived. I am originally from Transylvania but I have been avay for a very, very long time. It is nice to be back in a physical form and it vill be nice to be able to eat and drink again. After all it is over 500 years since my last meal and I am a little peckish. I am a Hungarian Countess who lived many years ago and I am most surprised to be back on earth after hundreds of years in ze spirit vorld. I vas looking forward to an evening of lavish food, fine vine and enthralling conversation vith our host. It is rather selfish of somebody to kill him before ve all had a chance to get to know him. I don t get to meet many Lords zees days. I suppose ve vill have to make do vith ze other guests. Ze food looks good zough. This clue should be revealed to others. I feel rather weak at the moment in this human form without my demonic powers but I am sure that my powers will start to grow again shortly. I started out as a human being in Jamaica but then I started dabbling in the dark arts. Before long I was killed by a demon and I ended up as a demon myself. For many years I have dreamed about coming back to earth and killing a human so that I could take over a living body. However now I am back in human form it is a bit boring.
