2 Overwatch Open Division Blizzard is pleased to announce the Overwatch Open Division, where amateur players who live for competition can flex their skills in a new and challenging open tournament series. Thousands of heroes leaped into the fray for Overwatch Contenders, and the Season Zero open qualifiers in North America and Europe have been a dramatic showcase of some of the best talent in the West. Many more of you across the world are itching to make the jump from the Overwatch Competitive Play mode to a more formal, structured tier of competition, where the demands of esports elevate players with true grit and skill. Now, the wait is over. For those who ve attained Master rank or higher in the most recent season of Overwatch Competitive Play (June 1 August 27), get ready to assemble your team and face other determined squads in your region in the Overwatch Open Division s first season this summer. Players on teams who complete all their Open Division regular season games will receive $10.00 in Blizzard ebalance, with more in store for those who make it to the playoffs.

3 Format and eligibility Format: Overwatch Open division consists of 7 weeks of swiss format, with one playday per week, followed by a play-off with 8 teams over 2 days Requirements to play in the Overwatch Open Division Players who have reached 3500 in ranking (masters) or higher in the previous season of in-game ranked are eligible to play You must be 13 years of age or older Blizzard will conduct an eligibility check after the sign up deadline (June 21 st ). We will communicate to the players shortly after if they are eligible

4 Important dates for Season 2 Players sign up (team or free agent*) for eligibility check: August 8 th to August 21 st Eligibility check by Blizzard August 22 nd to August 25 th Confirmation of eligible players August 27 th Free agent deadline to finalize their team, and communicate it to ESL: September 1 st Schedule announcement, players getting their opponent: September 2 nd *Free agent: a player that does not have a team yet see later in the presentation

13 Find a team or players You can find a team through the forum or the discord for it Once your team is ready, it s time to sign up! If you don t have a team and the deadline is coming soon, you can sign up in the free agent cup. (see later in the presentation)

15 Signing up with your team To create your team, click on the cup page. Remember you have until June 21 st to sign up!

16 Signing up with your team The widget on your right tells you everything you need to do! You need to be 13 years old minimum You need to enter your battletag

20 Signing up with your team Once your team is created, the next step is to add players, to it, click on Team status This allows you to invite your friends to join your team

23 Signing up with your team When you have your 6 players ready (you can add 2 substitutes), you can sign up! Every player needs to have an ESL account You will get a confirmation message Please read the rules!

26 Once your opponent has been determined by ESL every week, a chat feature will pop automatically where you can discuss with your opponent Getting ready for your match

27 Getting ready for your match This is how it looks like Now you talked to the enemy team start your match, connect yourself to Overwatch, one of the two teams create the lobby (read the rules about lobby creation)

28 Getting ready for your match Create the lobby, play your match Once the match is finished, please enter the results Don t forget to take a screenshot in game in case of protests The next day, you should receive your next opponent

29 Still looking for a team but sign up deadline (June 21 st ) is coming: Free agency

30 Free agency Being a free agent means that you don t have a team ready when the sign up deadline arrives (June 21 st ) If you don t have a team but are still searching for one or team mates to create one, you need to sign up to the free agent cup in order to go through the eligibility scan from Blizzard Sign up for Free Agency is between June 14 th and June 21 st On June 27 th, we will contact you if you are eligible to participate in the Overwatch Open Division. If you did not find a team by June 27 th, you need to gather other players that are eligible. You have until June 30 th to communicate with our admins who is in your team, by opening a ticket. (Click on the cup, and then find the tab support and write a ticket, ESL Staff will manually add the teams You have to find PRO ACTIVELY other players, use the forum or the discord for it

31 Free agency Being a free agent means that you don t have a team ready when sign up deadline arrives Sign up here before the deadline, which will allow you to go through the eligibility scan from Blizzard

32 Free agency Once you have found team mates to create a team, write a support ticket to ESL You have until June 30 th to communicate with our admins which players are in your team, by opening a ticket Click on the cup, and find the tab support and write a ticket, make sure you add all the players that are in your team with their ESL ID. We will manually add the team
