6 LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT First of all a big THANK YOU for letting me serve for one more year. I know that all in attendance at the installation banquet had a lot of fun and a good meal, Hope the all the giveaways for ticket drawings and bingo winners found new homes. We gave away 42 numismatic prizes, including Silver Eagles, U.S. Mint Sets, and two Mexican gold coins. For at least one member in attendance the evening ended on a up note. We got to the place in the events of the evening that we had about one Silver Eagle left and two U.S. Mint sets plus two gold coins. I drew a ticket for the last Eagle and it was won by Sara. Gave away the last two Mint Sets to ticket drawings. Then came the black out game for the gold. There was only one winner on the game and that was Sara. It was a pleasure just to see how excited she was at winning a gold coin. To give away the last gold coin we would play stand up bingo. Guess who won the last game. Sara won again She had the best card on the next to last game and the worst card on the last game. Sara will have a coin story to tell for many years to come. I have been around PCC for about 12 years, + or -. We are a club that has and have had several youths attend on a regular basis. I believe it is time that we officially recognize our youth as they graduate from school. I would like to assign a portion of one of our May meetings each year to recognize any youth we have who graduates that year. Look at it as one more opportunity to make a good impression. With that in mind I want to talk for a minute about one of our members that has been with the club longer than have I. When I joined she was a youth attending with her family. I am talking about Ginger. She was always around and sometimes hard to miss. She was always a willing worker ( or a willing talker) and would stand I where ever needed. Over the past 5 or 6 years she has gone to Colorado Springs each summer for the ANA Summer Seminars. She also did an internship at a numismatic dealership in Dallas. She has slowly gotten some recognition in our hobby. Over the past few years she has been an elected officer in our club. This past year I turned part of each meeting over to her to do her thing. I knew she had a lot to offer and just needed the opportunity to get her feet wet. She wouldn t allow herself to do anything but succeed. On May 13, 2005, Ginger will graduate from the University of Houston, Clear Lake. From me and I know from all your PCC members CONGRADULATIONS we are proud of you. Our meeting the 9 th of May, 2005 will be Ginger Night. Let her know we are proud she is part of our numismatic family. Billy Howard was not in attendance. Jerry Clemons RAFFLE TICKETS Just a friendly reminder that when you sign in at meeting time, you can purchase raffle tickets for door prizes. The tickets are really inexpensive and there are some really good items to choose from. Red tickets are 2 for $1 and Yellow tickets are 3 for $1. Remember the proceeds from the ticket sales go toward buying more door prizes. We need more ticket sales to insure that this part of the program does not disappear. April 13, 2005 MINUTES OF PAST MEETINGS This was our installation banquet. There were 59 members present. The meeting was called to order at 7pm. The officers for the were installed. Officers for the current year are President Jerry Clemons, Vice-President- Ginger Bing, Treasurer- Annette Bing and Secretary Elizabeth Howard. Bingo was played after the installation of officers. There were 42 prizes won. A good time was had by all.
