3 Welcome to our final Live Online Single Sale for 2016! Online Sale 8 is (coincidentally) our 8th Auction for the year, a record surely for any of the major auction houses! It certainly has kept us busy, and allowed us to continue to develop the online software even further! Our aim is to implement a full online payment gateway in the New Year, whilst our ongoing back end improvements have been focusing on allowing vendors to more easily submit lots and to make the entire auction experience even better! Some Online Sale 8 Auction Highlights and more The standout is a beautiful Taylor Pattern Shilling in Silver with the Charles Weiner Obverse type - a very rare coin, with only a few such examples known. This coin has great provenance and is similar to an example we sold in 2011 (only priced 2 and a half times less!). Another fantastic lot is the 5 Pound QE II Specimen Note Type I, again one of only a few examples known, and reserved at LESS THAN one tenth of cost price! Other highlights to watch out for include a 1934 Proof Silver set, all PCGS graded PR 66 Pr 68 CAM! This particular coin is the finest known, and also is the highest graded Australian pre decimal George V coin of any type! Keenly priced, and for this grade and rarity, also a long way under the market. A number of other Pre Decimal Proofs add to the excellent selection. There are numerous rare and great value banknotes, highlights include a 5 Pound 1918 (R 37a) a rare type seldom offered as is a 1 Pound ES&A Emergency Superscribe (R 19). There are two high grade 1 Pounds, an a 1914 (R 18d) and aef 1918 (R 21), both keenly priced, along with a number of Type I, II and III Decimal Specimens all priced under $4,000. Pre Federation includes a unique Commercial Bank set 1 Pound to 50 Pound and a number of issued and Specimen notes priced to sell! Gold coins include a rare 1886s Half Sovereign in high grade, a 1918P Half Sovereign PCGS graded MS 63, a rare Overdate over 5 Sydney Mint and more. There are a number of gem Pre Decimal Coins, including a superb PCGS MS Sixpence, Florins 1914 MS 64+, 1916 MS 65, 1911 and 1915H MS 64, several high grade 1923 Halfpennies and a PCGS VF Penny, and an Overdate 1922/1 Threepence to name just a few. World coins include an MS 62 Waitangi Crown, some superb Mis-strikes including a Geo V Penny full brockage, a 5 Cent full Reverse brockage, a 50c with an indented 2 cent blank striking and more. Other highlights include a superb selection of Estate Jewellery, Decimal and Polymer notes, First and Last prefixes, Starnotes, Misprints, Mint products, Mint rolls, along with some unreserved and estate lots starting from just $1. Truly this is a sale with something for everyone! Don t forget our next sale is our signature Live Floor Sale 85 in March 2017 (although there may well be a cheeky Flash Sale before then keep a close eye out in late January on the website or sign up to receive notifications). We are taking lots for Sale 85 as well as for our regular upcoming sales through See the website for more details, and don t forget you can now consign completely all online! Where the start price is disclosed, lots may sell for a price greater than this start price as determined by bidding. All bidding will be in increments from the start price as set out by IAG.
