Title Acrostic Poem Social Media Story Test Story Crossword Breaking News Report Obviously, all work MUST be original to the student taking credit for the project. Any plagiarism or other form of academic dishonesty will result in the student receiving a zero on that project.

2 Comic Strip Appetizer Option Descriptions Create several short comic strips (or one to two longer comic strips) that illustrate(s) the major events and overall plot line of the book. Major characters involved in the event(s) must be represented in the comic strip. Movie Poster Create a movie poster for your book. This should be designed like a real movie poster actors playing the lead roles should be on the poster, the people and things displayed should have a strong connection to the storyline of the book you read. You should also come up with a tagline that can be used to promote your book. Setting Brochure Create a tri-fold brochure that advertises your story s setting as a vacation destination. All points of interest should come from the book. If the setting is a real location, a small amount of outside research can supplement the information you present in your brochure, but the vast majority (80% or more) should be book-based. Story Scrapbook Put together a 10-page scrapbook. Each page should focus on one character or one event in the story. Pictures should be included on each page. The protagonist, antagonist, inciting incident, and turning point must be included. The other six characters or events are up to you. Board Game Create a board game based on your book. You will need to include directions for the game, the game board, player tokens, and any additional supplies needed to play the game (like question cards or cards that include additional directions or actions). There must be some aspect of the game that requires understanding of the book or references things that happen in the book.

3 Presentation Entree Option Descriptions Create a presentation (PowerPoint, Prezi, Keynote, etc.) that covers the elements of literature and includes pictures to enhance content. You will need to have sections that cover: Protagonist name & traits Theme Antagonist name & traits Conflict explain & type Character type (flat, round, static, dynamic) examples Plot structure Tone Point of view Mood Literary devices ifaketext Using the website summarize the story in text messages from the protagonist to various other characters. The messages should be worded like actual text messages, not written like a summary. Book Trailer Like a movie trailer, a book trailer is a short video that tells just enough of the story to get people interested. You will create a book trailer using live action, stop motion, cartooning, or any other video medium you are comfortable with. Diorama (3D Scene) Create a scene from the book in a shoebox (or similar box). The scene you choose should be a very important scene from the book. Please include a written paragraph that explains what is happening in the scene and why it is important to the story. Alphabet Book Create a 26-page book that uses important elements from the story with each letter of the alphabet. You should include illustrations for each letter. Story Quilt Create a quilt using 9 (3x3 grid) pictures that illustrate important events from the story. On the back of each picture, include an explanation of what is happening.

4 Timeline Side Item Option Descriptions Create a timeline of major events from the story. If the setting is not specific enough to assign actual dates to the timeline, it is fine to set it up with Event #... headers instead. Letter to the Author Write a letter to the author of the book. In your letter, you should explain what you liked about the book, what you didn t like about the book, and ask some questions that help you to better understand the story. Rewrite Ending Take the final chapter of the story and rewrite it. If you must change events that happen earlier in the story in order to write the new ending, please explain what originally happened and how it needed to change in order to work with your new ending and turn that in with the rewritten ending. Book Review Write a review of the book. Your review should include: a paragraph that summarizes the story without giving the ending away, a paragraph that explains what you liked about the book, and a paragraph that explains what you didn t like about that book. Character Diary Assume the role of a major character from the story. Using that character s perspective, write diary (or journal) entries retelling three events from the story. You need to write as the same character for each of the three events. Be sure to tell who was involved in each event as well as what happened.

5 Dessert Option Descriptions Acrostic Using each letter from the book title to begin a line, write out an acrostic that covers the plot or theme of your chosen book. Test (Include answer key) Write out a 20-question test about your book. You can make the questions multiple choice, short answer, or essay. You will need to turn in an answer key along with the test. Breaking News Report Acting as a newscaster, record a breaking news segment that covers one of the major events from your chosen book. Story Crossword Create a 20-clue crossword puzzle about your book. If clues require more than one word, please note that in the clue. Social Media Create a fake social media page for a major character from the book. Using templates or drawing your own, create a facebook, twitter, Instagram, or tumblr profile for the character. You only need to create one social media profile, but you should include some entries on the profile. Pictures should include captions. Text posts can include comments from other characters if you choose.
