But at the same time we want you to remain in touch with your studies. So, here s for you an interesting & activity based Holiday Homework. Children, take your work in a positive spirit and then it will not be a burden but a pleasure. All the best..! ENGLISH 1. Read the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory OR James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl and prepare a book review. Adhere to the points given below : a) Summary of the book in 100 words. b) Description of your favourite character. c) A collage of illustrations from the book. 2. Prepare My Dictionary. Find five new words per week and look for their meanings/synonyms. At the end of the month, arrange the words alphabetically with their meanings. Design an attractive cover for your dictionary. 3. You see your mother fulfilling an array of responsibilities throughout the day. You realise the selfless love she has for the family. Design a Thank You card expressing your love for your mother. (Cartridge or pastel sheet of A3 size, folded) 4. Make a beautiful bookmark for your Literature reader. Decorate it and write an inspirational quotation which inspires you.

2 5. Prepare a speech on the topic Healthy Food, Healthy Body in about 100 words. (to be followed by presentation in class) (All work to be done on A4 size sheet) Also inculcate the activities given below in your daily life to enhance your communication skills. i) Listen to the English news for half an hour. ii) Read English newspaper daily. iii) Try to communicate in English to the people around you. iv) Watch two English movies. SCIENCE Activity 1.Perform weaving using origami sheets / A4 size sheets of two different colors and paste it in your notebook. Activity 2 Show five examples of reversible changes on a chart paper. Example : -recycling of paper which may be utilised for the benefit of our environment. Activity 3 You have tried a number of methods to separate impurities like mud from water. Sometimes, the water obtained after employing all these processes could still be a little muddy. Let us see if we can remove even this impurity completely.take this filtered water in a glass.tie a thread to a small piece of alum.suspend the piece of alum in the water and swirl.did the water become clear? What happened to the mud? Write your observation in your notebook. This process is called loading. Talk to some elders in your family to find out whether they have seen or used this process. Activity 4 Make a model of grassland habitat.

As you know Water is essential for our daily life.note down the glasses of water you are drinking in a week ( Monday to Sunday) make a 3 D bar graph based on the information and paste it on a thermocol / Cardboard sheet. 4. Learn tables from 2 to 25.

4 COMPUTER On A4 size sheets write about INTERNET AND ITS USES and submit in a Folder. ART & CRAFT 1. Do practice of drawing and coloring everyday and make any three paintings on A 4 Size sheet. 2. Watch Art Attack and MAD on TV every day and make one painting and one craft object that you liked the most. 3. Make a Warli Art on A 4 size sheet. (for 6A) Make a Madhubani Art on A 4 size sheet.
