3 PRINTED PAPER / Design notes Learn how to align and bleed images, plus which file formats to use in our SimWare software. BLEED: When sending files to print we require your artwork to include a 3mm bleed on each edge of the document. Bleed refers to the extension of any graphics or colour that you want to run right up to the edge of the trim line. Everything outside it will be trimmed off. TYPE AREA: When designing your artwork do not place text or images that you do not want to bleed off any closer than 15mm to the edge or fold. SPINE: Coffee Table Books with Printed Paper will NOT lay flat when open. Please allow a 10mm safe margin from the spine. TEXT: When designing your artwork do not have your text smaller than 6pt. Text that is smaller that this may not be legible. Alignment: You must check the alignment of your picture boxes before submitting your order, Sim Imaging will NOT check alignment in your products. TEMPLATES: You can use the preset templates provided or add your own creative spreads! File formats: Upload JPG files for best results, we recommend a minimum size of 10mb per image. Design Examples: Anything outside of the red line will be trimmed off. So keep any objects a safe 15mm inside the red line. For full bleed photos, extend out to the very edge of the page.
