Two of the joey scouts hold hands (they are the tree) the third joey scout is the koala in the middle of the tree and stands in the middle. Choose one joey scout to be a spare joey. On leader command the koalas all run to change trees. The spare joey also runs to a tree and the one left out becomes the spare koala. ANIMAL FRUIT SALAD Equipment: nil Rules: joeys are placed into two equal teams. They sit facing each other with their legs stretched out and feet touching. Each pair are given a name of an animal. When the leader calls out the name of the animal the joeys with that name jump up and run between the other joeys legs, around the sides and back to their spot. ANIMAL CELEBRITY HEAD Equipment: animal pictures Rules: one joey at a time sits with an animal picture on their forehead. They are to ask a series of questions to try and gind out what the animal is.
4 FISH AND NET Equipment : nil Rules: Three to five joey scouts join hands to catch fish by surrounding induvidual joey scouts. Thouse who are caught become a part of the net. The last three to five caught make up the net for the new game. WOMBAT SQUASHED Equipment : australian animal picture tags and safety pins half the players stand along one side of a make believe road the others on the opposite side each with a tag pinned on the front. One player is chosen as a big truck coming down the left hand side of the road. Names of animals are called and those with that name tag cross the road mimicking the animals way of moving. If the animal is touched by the truck it dies and becomes another truck going to the end to wait for the next animal before starting along the road. POISON TAG Equipment: nil Rules: same rules as a normal game of tag. When a joey is tagged they must hold that part of their body with a hand. When the joey is tagged again they must hold that spot with the other hand. When they are tipped the third time they become the tipper and the game begins again. 5 THEME AUTUMN MEETING Hall DATE 3rd/7th TIME ACTIVITY LEADER EQUIPMENT 5.15 OPENNING CEREMONY ALL FLAG 5.25 Eye dropper mixing Watered down paint, paper towel, straws 5.35 Cherry blossom tree Black paint, card, pink tissue paper, glue, straws 5.45 Whats the time mr wolf bone 5.55 Stick photo frame Sticks, cardboard, glue. 6.1 CLOSING CEREMONY ALL FLAG Eye dropper mixing Equipment: Watered down paint, paper towel, straws. Method: Joeys use the straws to collect the paint and spot it on the paper. They then use a different colour and watch to see what colour is made. They can continue to add different colours. Cherry Blossom Tree. Equipment: watered down black paint, card, pink tissue paper, glue, straws. Method: joeys splash a small amount of watered down black paint and then use the straw to blown it around the page. They then scrunch up small bits of pink tissue paper and glue it on different areas of the picture, making a cherry blossom tree. Whats the time MR WOLF Equipment: Bone Rules: one joey stands at one end of the hall with their back turned to the rest of the group. The joey has the bone placed on the floor between their feet. The other joeys are at the other end of the hall and they call out. What's the time Mr Wolf. The wolf answers with a number. They joeys then have to take that many steps. And then call out again. The objective is to try and reach the bone before mr wolf
6 calls out dinner time. If mr wolf calls out dinner time everyone must run back to the start without mr wolf catching them. Stick photo frame Equipment: sticks, glue, card Method: sticks are glued around the outside of the card making a cute photo frame. 7 THEME Pamper Night MEETING Hall DATE 10th/14th Time Activity Leader Equipment 5.15 Opening Parade all Flag 5.2 Paint pots Paint, brushes, pots 5.3 Sugar exfoliate Hand soap, sugar, water, handtowels 5.35 Moisturiser moisturiser 5.45 Cucumber eyes cucumber 6 Pot stuffing lollies 6.1 Closing parade all flag Pot painting Equipment: pots, paint, brushes. Method: paint the pots and make them beautiful for mum. Sugar exfoliate Equipment: sugar, liquid hand soap, water, handtowels Method: wet mums hands and use a bit of soap, add sugar and gentle massage mums hands. Wash off and towel dry. Moisturiser Equipment: moisturiser. Method: gentle massage moisturiser into mums hands. Cucumber eyes Equipment: cucumbers Method: sit mum back to relax with some cucumber on her eyes. Pot stuffing Equipment: Cellophane, lollies Method: place bags of lollies inside the pots and wrap in cellophane with a nice bow

9 THEME Wood night MEETING HILLVUE HALL DATE 17th Time Activity Leader Equipment 5.15 Opening Parade all Flag 5.2 Spiders and Flies 5.25 Leaf rubbings Leaves, book mark shaped paper, crayons, laminator Tree collages Stick creatures Tree template, bark, leaves, glue Sticks, nuts, blue tac 5.5 Build a nest newspaper 6 Jump the rope rope 6,10 Closing parade All flag Spiders and Flies Equipment: nil Rules: establish a home line or lines. Some distance away place one player sitting on the ground as the spider. The other, the flies, skip about the spider in a circle clapping their hands and buzzing. The spider sits still and waits the siddenly leaps up and chases the flies who run for the home lines. Any flies caught become spiders. Continue until all are caught. The last player is the winner. Leaf Rubbing Bookmark Equipment: bookmarks, laminator, leaves, crayons. Method: Rub leaf through paper with crayon. Attach leaf to backside and laminate. Cut out, punch hole in top and attach a leather cord or piece of wool.
10 Tree Collages Equipment: template, leaves and bark, glue Method: print out attached template. Joeys then glue on bark to trunk and leaves to tree. Stick Creatures Equipment: sticks, gum nuts, bark, blue tac Method: joeys use their imagination and create wonderful stick creatures. Build a nest Equipment: newspaper Rules: draw a circle on the floor. Throw pieces of scrunched up newspaper around the hall. The joey scouts have to get all the newspaper inside the circle while inside the circle there are 3 baby birds who are throwing the paper back out of the nest. When all the paper is inside the circle give three others the turn at being the baby birds. Jump the Rope Equipment: long rope Rules: put a large rope across the hall. One leader at each end of the rope. Line the children beisde the rope and wriggle it along the floor. The joey scouts have to jump the rope and avoid being hit by it. 11 THEME Spring MEETING Hall DATE 24th/28th TIME ACTIVITY LEADER EQUIPMENT 5.15 Opening parade all flag 5.2 Butterflies Paper, paint 5.25 Leap frog nil 5.35 Ducks or cows nil 5.55 Butterflies Sticks, glue, scissors 6.05 Patty cake fridge magnets Magnets, patty cake cases, pegs 6.15 Closing Parade flag Butterfly wings Equipment: paper, paint Method: joeys make hand prints on the paper and sit it aside to dry. Leap frog. Equipment: nil Rules: Joeys form a line. The first joey crouches down. The second joey leap frogs over the top then crouches down. The next joey jumps over the two crouching etc. DUCKS OR COWS Equipment. Nil Rules: divide the joey scouts into 2 teams. All joey scouts close their eyes whilst the leader gives them a name either duck or cow. On the signal of the leader the joeys start to moo or cluck and try to find each other. Butterflies Equipment: Sticks, glue, scissors. Method: joeys cut out their hand prints and make wings. They glue the wings to the stick and sit aside to dry.
12 Flower Magnets. Equipment: magnets, pegs, patty cake cases (large and small) glue, Method: Joeys make flowers by flattening out the large patty case. The small case is glued in the centre. 13 THEME Winter MEETING Hall DATE 31st/4th TIME ACTIVITY LEADER EQUIPMENT 5.15 Opening parade all flag 5.2 Snowstorm newspaper 5.3 Snowmen Shaving cream, plastic plate, paddle pop sticks 5.45 Penguin relay Rubber gloves, tennis balls, bowls 5.55 Edible snowmen White marshmellow, toothpicks, paper plates, food colouring. 6 Freeze and melt nil 6.15 Closing Parade all flag Snowstorm Equipment: newspaper Rules: split joeys into 2 teams. Balls of rolled up newspaper are piled in the centre of the hall. Joeys race to take one snowball at a time to their end of the hall. When all the snowballs are gone the command is given and the snowball fight begins. After a few minutes stop the game and the team with the least snowballs on their side are the snowball champs. Reverse the game by having teams put snowballs into garbage bags to clean up. Snowmen Equipment: shaving cream, plastic plates, paddle pop sticks. Method: joeys try to mould the shaving cream into a snow man shape. Penguin relay Equipment: rubber gloves, bowls, tennis balls.
14 Rules: 2 teams. Joeys put rubber gloves for feet and have a tennis ball between their legs, waddle to the end of the hall and have to lay the egg into the bowl. Collect the ball and run back. Edible snowmen Equipment: white marshmellows, toothpicks, paper plates, food colouring. Method: construct a snowman using toothpicks to hold him together and dots of food colouring for eyes and mouth. Make on a paper plate for joeys to take home. Freeze and melt Equipment: nil Rules: joeys move around the hall when freeze is called joeys stop, when melt is called they fall to the floor like a puddle of water. 15 THEME Campfire MEETING Oxley Hall DATE 11th TIME ACTIVITY LEADER EQUIPMENT 5.15 Opening parade flag 5.2 Pizza rolls Leb bread, ham, cheese, pineapple, tom paste, foil 5.3 Baked beans Tin can 5.4 songs Song book 6 food 6.15 Closing Parade flag Pizza rolls Equipment: leb bread, ham, cheese, pineapple, tom paste, foil Method: joeys spread the tom paste and top with their fave ingredients. These are then wrapped in foil and cooked in the oven by a leader. Baked Beans Equipment: tin can Rules:leader calls at rendom: string beans all link hands runner beans all run around broad bans all stand with arms and legs stretched out Jumping beans all jumping around baked beans all run to the tin and sit. Method: joeys create an underwater mural using any materials they wish. Captains coming Equipment: nil Rules: captains coming stand straight and salute climb the rigging hands and feet and climbing motion man overboard throw life ring scrub the decks hands and knees scrub the floor boom overhead everyone in the middle laying on the floor. Icey pole eating with a beach book Beach ball Volley Equipment: Beach ball Rules. Split joeys into 2 teams. Joeys must sit on their bottoms and facing the other team. Beach ball is thrown up and the joeys must hit it back and forth without getting off their bottoms.
