2 Raubling Papier GmbH Our mill in the heart of Europe is located at a central interface with surrounding markets, employs around 145 people and has a capacity of approximately 220,000 tonnes of paper, two-thirds of which are for the domestic market, the rest being exported to neighbouring countries. Since the beginning of 2016 Raubling is part of the global Heinzel Group. Raubling Papier GmbH is a German subsidiary of the international Heinzel Group, which with its Zellstoff Pöls AG, Laakirchen Papier AG (both Austria), and AS Estonian Cell (Estonia) industrial locations numbers among the largest producers of market pulp and magazine paper in Central and Eastern Europe. The Raubling location strengthens the paper area of the Group and extends its portfolio with containerboard. most important waste paper treatment and distribution companies in Austria as well as the leading wholesaler in Central and Eastern Europe. Specialists in recycling Along with the paper mill, Heinzel Group runs a separate waste paper sorting plant in the municipality of Raubling Chiemgau Recycling GmbH. After sorting, the paper is further processed in the paper mill and is thus one of the principal raw materials at this site. More than 180,000 tonnes of recycled paper are used annually in the production of containerboard. In addition, Raubling Papier GmbH is a partner for recycling liquid packaging board. Every year approx. 130,000 tonnes of used beverage cartons are collected in Germany, over a third of which find appropriate reuse at our site. The Group s trading division includes Wilfried Heinzel AG, a globally active pulp and paper trading company, and Europapier AG, the leading paper merchant in the CEE region. 3 Our history The Raubling paper mill is over 100 years old. In the course of its history, the mill in Raubling has had a variety of names and owners. Thanks to our company s progressive and sustainable thinking, today the mill is in tune with the changing demands of our modern world. We specialize in recycling and corrugated containerboard from recycled fibres. Our Flying Rhino symbolizes both strength and flexibility. We are your strong paper partner and always ready for take-off when new solutions for corrugated containerboard are required. Kraft Top, Kraft Top X, and Kraft Top C Liner 01, Liner 02, and Liner 03 Wave and Wave Liner Starboard Kraft Top, Kraft Top X, and Kraft Top C are extremely versatile, have good packaging properties and yet are economical. Basis weight: g/m². STARBOARD LINER are state-ofthe-art testliners meeting the standards of the German Association of Corrugated Board Manufacturers and other comparable products. Basis weight: g/m². STARBOARD WAVE and WAVE LIN- ER are made from recovered fibre according to the latest technical requirements. This product meets the same standards as Testliner 3. Basis weight: g/m². IceWave IceWave Pro In recent years the paper mill has also become renowned for its high-quality special products: STARBOARD ICEWAVE has been designed for corrugated packaging in humid environments. It is optimal for use as cold chain packaging. Basis weight: g/m². STARBOARD ICE WAVE PRO has been specially developed for heavy-duty, high-strength packaging stored under humid and cold conditions. Basis weight: g/m².

All the energy required in the form of heat and electricity for internal use is produced at our site. What s more, Raubling supplies neighbouring industrial plants with heat and electricity.

Acting sustainably is a central pillar of Heinzel Group s corporate culture. Energy generation and supply Raubling Papier GmbH acts ecologically. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All the energy required in the form of heat and electricity for internal use is produced at our site. What s more, Raubling supplies neighbouring industrial plants with heat and electricity. Optimal energy efficiency is guaranteed by feeding surplus energy into Raubling s municipal heating grid. Biogas production in the mill s own biological purification plant: approx. 18 GWh per year Municipal heating grid supply: approx. 1,800 MWh per year Wastewater treatment Our mill uses water from the nearby Inn river. At the end of the production process, the water is purified in our wastewater treatment plant and fed back into the Inn. All legal regulations are constantly measured and observed.
