1 Requirements: To Kill a Mockingbird 3/31--Please read through chapter 16. o Fill out the character chart (to the best of your ability). o Fill out the questions attached in this reader. We will be finishing the novel in the first week after break. If you would like to read ahead, feel free, just fill out the reader We will be writing an essay on this as well as A Raisin in the Sun. Theme: A central point of the text that also conveys a message about the human condition. Keep your eyes and ears open to possible themes in To Kill a Mockingbird. Particularly those that may correspond with A Raisin in the Sun. As you read pay attention to the following: Boo Radley (and what he represents). The segregation and racism that pervades the story. o How is progressed marked in the battle for equality? Scout s point of view and how it affects the story. The prejudice that is part of many elements of society (gender, race, socioeconomic status). The dynamics of the Finch family (single dad with an African- American). How Scout and Jem grow up. Character Quote about his or her appearance Scout Character Chart A quote spoken by or about the character that show personality.
