10 Water Imagery To whomever is not listening to the sea (1) To those who do not have freedom...and the see is beating, dying, and continuing (12) Freedom is taken but it still must be fought for I must feel the crash of the hard water and gather it up in a perpetual cup (16-17) Poet s obligation: must keep fighting to regain the freedom even though it is difficult...hearing me, eyes will glance upward saying: how can I reach the sea? (22-23) Poet s obligation: freedom is the goal, it is up the poet to make people question their lack of freedom
