Abductions are considered experiences, and each member has had an experience by a Grey or a Reptillian. At the city limit for the town Beacon, Ozzie Graham finds himself driving late at night. A talking deer appears in his backseat and tells him that he s about to hit a deer. Ozzie startles awake just as he s entering Beacon. He s there to do an article on StarCrossed, a support group for people who believe they ve been abducted by aliens. Ozzie sits in on one of the group s sessions, though it doesn t do much to convince him that these people are anything but delusional. Though some parts of their stories are similar to each other, others differ. For example, there are several different aliens they ve come into contact with. Some have encountered a reptilian-like alien, others a small gray alien, and a few have encountered a Nordic looking alien. The one thing that all the members have in common is what happens at the end of their alien encounters. They re all told that they are special. The group is unable to convince Ozzie that they are anything other than delusional. Unfortunately for Ozzie, his boss Jonathan really likes what he s written and wants him to do a follow-up. Ozzie wants to cover real stories and feels insulted to be covering the support group. In the end, Ozzie goes back to Beacon per his editor s wishes. Ozzie reaches out to group member Gerry for his follows up on the article. According to Gerry, Beacon has the highest number of alien abductions on the east coast. They end up at the place where Ozzie had his car accident, Gerry suspects that Ozzie has been abducted as well. Gerry ends up telling group leader Gina about Ozzie s car accident. The pair attempt to get Ozzie to consider that he might have been abducted. Ozzie flat out refuses to consider it. Ozzie s unfinished article ends up getting published. Costing him the trust of the group. He s furious over what happened, his boss claims that he doesn t know what happened. He ends up 3

quitting over it. Before he leaves, though, he starts hallucinating everyone around him having deer heads. Ozzie heads back to Beacon to apologize to the group. Once again Gerry and Gina try to convince him that he s had an alien encounter as well. It turns out that Ozzie s abduction is special in a way. His encounter was with all three types of aliens. Ozzie still doesn t want to accept what happened. Gerry admits to Ozzie that he s never been abducted even though it s something that he wants. Ozzie wants to find out what happened and asks Gerry to help him. Ozzie gets a job with the local newspaper. The pilot ends with one final shocker. Ozzie s boss Jonathan is, in fact, an alien! 4

Sponsored By Season 1 Episode Number: 2 Season Episode: 2 Originally aired: Monday October 31, 2016 Writer: David Jenkins Director: Andrew Gaynord Show Stars: Wyatt Cenac (Ozzie Graham), Luka Jones (Gerry Johnson), Alice Wetterlund (Kelly Grady), Michael Cassidy (Jonathan Walsh), Tracee Chimo (Chelsea Healey), Brian Huskey (Richard Shenk), Nancy Lenehan (Margaret Flood), Da Vine Joy Randolph (Yvonne Watson), Ken Hall (Jeff the Grey), Björn Gustafsson (Don the White), Oscar Nuñez (Father Doug), Ana Gasteyer (Gina Morrison), Debra McCabe (Nancy), Daniel Stewart Sherman (Ennis Hart), Drew Nelson (Kurt the Reptilian) Guest Stars: H. Jon Benjamin (Officer Glimmer), Michael Crane (John Wheeler), Leah Doz (Annie), Samer Salem (Writer Friend) Production Code: U Summary: Trying to win over Ozzie, Gerry goes above and beyond what a good sponsor would do; Chelsea opens up to Father Doug about her marriage; tensions run high as Jeff, Don and Kurt prepare for the alien invasion. Ozzie s ex-boss, Jonathan, keeps trying to get a hold of him but Ozzie won t return his calls. Ozzie gets assigned to the police blotter at the Beacon Gazette. Unfortunately for him, there s really not too much to report in Beacon. He meets with Gina and Gerry who tell him that he needs to pick a sponsor. Gerry really wants the job though Ozzie is able to put off choosing for a little while. At the meeting that night, Ozzie steps on some toes when he points out that Kelly and Chelsea have similar stories. He thinks the group should share more about their encounters so they can track what s similar and what s not. Gina isn t happy with the direction Ozzie is trying to push the group. Father Doug interrupts and pulls Gina out to talk to her. Father Doug isn t sure the church is the right place for StarCrossed to meet. He s been getting complaints about how loud they are. While Father Doug and Gina are meeting, Yvonne comes up with a plan to see if Kelly and Chelsea were in fact visited by the same alien. They split up into two groups and have the women describe the alien. Yvonne and Margret will then draw the alien and see if they end up looking the same. It doesn t end up quite proving what Yvonne had hoped for. In fact, Ozzie starts to question if he was even abducted. He isn t too pleased with the recent upheavals in his life. Gerry offers to get his car back for him but Ozzie ends up just heading back to his motel room. He realizes that he s lost his notebook. But before he can head back to the church he starts to hallucinate the deer again. Back at the church, Kelly has found the notebook. It seems that Ozzie has a crazy ranking for each member of the group. Kelly doesn t blame him for that, in fact, she did the same thing when she first joined the group. Only she was smart enough not to write it down. 5

In the end, Ozzie chooses Kelly as his sponsor. Meanwhile, the aliens aren t happy with the fact that Ozzie is in Beacon with the group. Jonathan assures them he ll handle it. But his superiors don t believe he can do it. Kurt, the reptile alien, decides to head down to Earth to take care of things. Luck isn t on his side, though. He steps out into the road and is hit by Gina, who doesn t stick around to see if he s OK. Before the episode ends, we find out that the cops are at least somewhat aware of the alien situation. As evidenced by the local cop in the process of covering up what happened. 6

Acceptance Season 1 Episode Number: 3 Season Episode: 3 Originally aired: Monday November 7, 2016 Writer: Brigitte Munoz-Liebowitz Director: Andrew Gaynord Show Stars: Wyatt Cenac (Ozzie Graham), Luka Jones (Gerry Johnson), Alice Wetterlund (Kelly Grady), Michael Cassidy (Jonathan Walsh), Tracee Chimo (Chelsea Healey), Brian Huskey (Richard Shenk), Nancy Lenehan (Margaret Flood), Da Vine Joy Randolph (Yvonne Watson), Ken Hall (Jeff the Grey), Björn Gustafsson (Don the White), Oscar Nuñez (Father Doug), Ana Gasteyer (Gina Morrison), Debra McCabe (Nancy), Daniel Stewart Sherman (Ennis Hart), Drew Nelson (Kurt the Reptilian) Guest Stars: H. Jon Benjamin (Officer Glimmer), Amy Landecker (Debbie), Aaron Davis (Young Ozzie), Stuart Fink (Suited Man), Doug MacLeod (Lawyer) Production Code: U Summary: Richard faces his shattered marriage with help from Ozzie. Meanwhile, Yvonne and Gerry snoop into a mysterious cover-up, and Jonathan Walsh gives unsettling news to Jeff and Don. Gina comes home after her hit and run and calls it into the police. The cop tells her that it was just a raccoon and she hangs up before he can get her name. Satisfied with the answers he provides she tries to ignore the incident. Too bad for her the cop is apparently in league with the aliens and is covering up Kurt s untimely death. At that night s meeting of StarCrossed, Richard brings up his missing wife, Debbie. He tells the group that the reptilians made contact. Unfortunately for Richard, it turns out to be divorce papers. Richard thinks it is a coded messaged from his wife. Ozzie sees that he clearly needs help processing what s going on but Gina warns him to leave Richard alone. Richard opens up to Ozzie about the night that he and his wife were abducted while on a camping trip. Ozzie agrees to go with Richard to the mediation where unbeknownst to him Richard tells them that Ozzie is his lawyer. Things don t go well at first, Richard holds steadfast to his belief that Debbie is being held captive by the reptilians. Eventually, it appears that he is beginning to see reason and he signs the divorce papers. Debbie is furious to find that he didn t sign his name. That night s meeting of StarCrossed is interrupted by Debbie. Richard informs her that he will never sign the divorce papers. It comes as a shock to Ozzie that Debbie was once part of the group. Ozzie talks to Debbie privately. Debbie tells him that the night of their abduction she asked Richard for a divorce. Debbie isn t sure if they were abducted or not. All she wants is to move on. She tells Ozzie that you can either be happy or you can search for the truth. He asks what if you can t be happy if you don t know the truth. Richard overhears their conversation and agrees to sign the divorce papers. Once the group reassembles, Richard tells them that he knows Debbie wasn t being held by the reptilians. It is 7

clear to him now that she s been a reptilian all along. The group indulges him in his explanation of his theory. Jonathan Walsh is the one tasked with telling Jeff and Don about Kurt s untimely demise. It takes Don seconds to process his grief. Jeff appears unphased by his coworker s passing. But by the end of the episode we see him truly upset by his friend s death. He uses some alien tech to watch what Kurt saw in his last moment. He promises vengeance when he sees the bumper of the car that killed Kurt. Which means that he is on Gina s trail. The episode also found Gerry and Yvonne on the path to uncovering the cover-up surrounding Gina s car accident. Gerry doesn t think that a raccoon could leave as much damage to Gina s car. When Yvonne happens upon him while he s out looking for clues where the accident happened. They realize that the road has recently been repaved. Reptilians blood is acidic leading the pair to think that Gina hit something a lot bigger than a raccoon. The pair grows closer throughout their investigation. 8

Meanwhile, Gina goes down memory lane as the origin of StarCrossed is revealed. The episode opens with Gina s abduction. Though Jeff and Don do their usual spiel and tell her that she s special, she responds with something that they haven t heard before. She calls bullshit on it. In the present Gina is an unhappy worker at the Crockery Hutch. We get lots of flashbacks to her life before her abduction. Fifteen months earlier she was what appeared to be a well to do therapist. Things start to go wrong for her when she encourages a client to go skydiving and he ends up dying during it. In the present Gina is interrupted throughout her work day by different members of the group. Another flashback shows that she moved to Beacon after the death of the client and was abducted shortly after her move. After her abduction, she seeks out Gerry for his alien expertise. Shortly after that, the group is formed. You re a Tool Jonathan Walsh is summoned to explain things to one of his superiors. It turns out the aliens have been among us for around two hundred years, slowly working their way to subvert us. Whoever is in charge isn t happy that Ozzie is in Beacon and starting to recover memories. Jonathan has a plan to go to Beacon and force Ozzie to leave. He also suspects that Jeff the Gray was the one that alerted the higher-ups to Jonathan s snafus. Jeff is almost gleeful in confirming that suspicion to Jonathan. Ozzie is settling into Beacon, when asked by a new coworker if he misses his old job, Ozzie s answer is no. Ozzie s calm in Beacon is threatened when Jonathan shows up. To make matters worse, he informs Ozzie that he s buying the Beacon Newspaper. When Gerry and Richard run into the pair, Gerry is immediately suspicious. As it turns out, the feeling is quite mutual, Jonathan is worried that Gerry might be a thought leader. 9

Ozzie is deeply unhappy with the fact that Jonathan has bought the Beacon Gazette. Ozzie has another memory of him as a child talking to a reptilian. The reptilian turns out to be Jonathan! When Ozzie goes back to his motel he has another hallucination of the deer and it appears that Jonathan s plans to run him out of town have succeeded. In the end, he turns up at StarCrossed. Gina and the rest of the group talk him through what s been going on with. Gina seems to be more at peace with where she s at. Jonathan is pretty smug thinking that his plan worked. Too bad for him Ozzie has decided to stick around. Ozzie makes a phone call to someone who accidentally came into possession of Jonathan s contact list. And for some reason, the mystery person thinks that Ozzie is in rehab. 10

Don reminisces about his encounter with Kelly. She s the only subject that ever asked him a question and it is clear that she s endeared to him because of it. Jeff is trying to reset the implant they put in Ozzie s brain since he keeps remembering parts of his abduction. Jeff tries a manual reset of the implant which causes poor Ozzie to have even more hallucinations. Ozzie leaves work early and tries to figure out what is going on with him. Don tries to be helpful but ends up annoying Jeff. So Jeff sends him down to earth to track down Kurt s killer. Chelsea has a meeting with Father Doug. Turns out she s started relating to Mary, as in the Virgin Mary. Father Doug is surprised by that fact but nonetheless invites her to participate in that week s Bible study. Don s mission gets derailed when he spots Kelly having a cup of coffee. At the group meeting that night, Kelly tells them that she is planning on breaking up with her current boyfriend. Gina suggests that maybe it s because no one else seems interesting after her alien encounter. Kelly denies that theory. Ozzie interrupts the group when he has one of his hallucinations. Gerry takes him to the hospital so they can have some tests run. The scan finds something and the doctor recommends removal. Jeff meanwhile gets ready to do a hard reset which would mean wiping all of Ozzie s memories. Just as it is about to complete, the doctor s remove the implant from Ozzie s head. Gerry is convinced that the small metal object is alien in origin and a drugged up Ozzie agrees. Jeff tries to get a hold of Don, who isn t answering his phone. When he can t reach Don, Jeff is forced to ask Jonathan for help. It s no surprise when Jonathan makes Jeff regret it. But in the end, he agrees to help retrieve the implant. 11

In addition to agreeing that the implant might be related, Ozzie also calls Gerry his best friend. The celebration for Gerry is cut short when he steps out of the room for a minute and comes back to find that the metal from Ozzie s head is gone. To make matters worse Jonathan s assistant Nancy shows up. Gerry doesn t trust her and it is a good thing too, unbeknownst to him she s looking for the implant as well. In the end, they both come up empty handed. It turns out that the Bible study that Father Doug invited Chelsea to was mainly for kids. She sticks around anyway. Things get awkward when she gets a little too passionate defending Mary s story to a kid who isn t buying what the Bible said. Afterward, Father Doug is a little upset about what happened, Chelsea tells him not to worry she won t be coming back. At the group meeting, that night Gerry is disappointed about losing whatever it was in Ozzie s head. Ozzie isn t so sure it was aliens but also admits that it could have been. The end of the episode reveals that a kid from the hospital now has the implant. 12

Meanwhile, Gina hosts a coming-out event for StarCrossed members, and Jeff bonds with an online stranger. Gina arranges a special night for the members of StarCrossed. She wants them each to pick a friend or family member and invite them to the group. She wants them to tell the important people in their lives about their experience with aliens. This doesn t go over well with most of the group but in the end, they arrive that night with a family member. The only person that doesn t come is Ozzie. In fact, he was supposed to see his mom that night but called her to rearrange it. The other members of the group probably should have taken a cue from Ozzie when it came to telling their families about the alien stuff. No one s family member takes it well, though some are less cruel than others. Most of it ends in a mocking, yelling, and in the case of Richard and his brother a bit of a fist fight. Chelsea s husband interrupts and forces her to choose between staying with the group or leaving with him. Regrettably, she leaves with him. Gina is feeling pretty bad about what went down at the meeting. Kelly texts her and invites her out for a drink. Most of the group shows up with the exception of Ozzie. The night isn t a total loss, though. Kelly and Chelsea appear to have buried their animosity towards each other. They even a agree to meet up and talk about their shared alien encounter. Ozzie spends the episode hiding out in a bar with Father Doug. After drinking an impressive amount of booze Ozzie starts to bond with Father Doug. It turns out Father Doug isn t too satisfied with his life at the moment. Even though he s working through his own problems, Father Doug tells Ozzie that maybe she shouldn t tell anyone about the alien stuff. 13

A drunk Ozzie does try to call his mother to let her know about his abduction but in the end, he takes the good Father s advice. The night isn t all about Ozzie though. Father Doug drops the bombshell that he s having feelings for a woman, Chelsea. Lucky for him Ozzie agrees to keep that information a secret. The next day Ozzie gets a phone call from his friend Sam telling him that he has information on Jonathan Walsh. We see a little bit of Jeff the Grey in this episode. He spends the episode doing random tasks aboard the space ship. At the end of the episode, he gets a message from someone telling him that they ll be arriving in four weeks... 14

In addition, Jonathan Walsh shares important information with Ozzie, and Don and Kelly go on a date. Gerry has calculated when the next alien abduction will be and is determined to be the next person the aliens take. He spends what he thinks is his last day on Earth giving his stuff away and spending it with those he cares about most. He tells Ozzie goodbye and thanks him for being his best friend. Ozzie tries to talk him out of it and says that being abducted by aliens isn t really that great. But Gerry remains committed to his cause, his next stop is to Richard. He leaves all of his alien research with Richard which makes the other man happy. The most significant part of Gerry s supposed last day on Earth is Yvonne. He spends part of the episode trying to gather his courage to tell her how he feels about her. He attempts to call her and tell her but loses his nerve and ends the call quickly. Later on that night, he shows up at her house under the pretense of returning something. He awkwardly spits out that he really likes her and has a crush on her. He goes to leave but Yvonne stops him and kisses him. The pair end up having sex before she takes him to his encounter. The next day at group everyone seemingly is starting to realize how significant Gerry is to them and the group. Just as they re realizing how much they ll miss him, in comes Gerry. He waited all night for his abduction but the aliens never actually showed up. The group consoles him and he seems to be appeased by that. What Gerry and the rest of the group don t know is that his calculations about the abduction were right. But because Don was on a date with Kelly, Don and Jeff missed their regularly scheduled abduction. Ozzie has all that he needs to publish an expose on Jonathan Walsh. When the higher ups get wind of it, Jonathan struggles to kill the story. When he isn t able to talk Ozzie out of it, Jonathan s higher ups tell him that he ll have to kill Ozzie. This episode brings us more flashbacks to what appears to be Jonathan in his reptilian form and Ozzie as a young child. 15

Jonathan goes to Ozzie s motel room and for a split second it looks like Jonathan might actually try to kill Ozzie. Instead he gives him a hard-drive that will provide Ozzie with everything that he needs for his expose. Ozzie is pretty happy to be writing a real story once more. Jonathan once again has to meet with his higher up. Jonathan was smart enough to have a back up plan. Since Ozzie s story is already in print the reptilians can t risk killing him right now. And Jonathan has set up a fail safe to keep himself safe as well. If he doesn t enter a code every twelve hours then all of the reptilians plans will leak onto the internet. Jonathan and Ozzie are safe, for now. Back on the ship Jeff informs Don that they ve had contact from the main ship, and they ll be getting a visit from them in a few weeks. 16

Ozzie agrees to talk to some journalism students. Right before he s set to go on a woman from the New York Times speaks with him. She tells him that she d like to talk to him about a job offer. Ozzie s interview appears to be going well until it s time for the audience to start asking questions. A student asks him whether or not he believes in aliens. At first, Ozzie tries to play it off but eventually admits that he does believe in aliens and he s not sure whether he s been abducted or not. Things don t look good for the job at the New York Times. That night at group, everyone is thrilled about Ozzie s interview except for Gina. She isn t happy that he opened up during his interview but not at group. He promises her that he ll open up at the meeting that night. The real shock at group that night is the appearance of Nancy, Jonathan Walsh s assistant. It turns out that Nancy is a robot. And Jeff has hacked her so he can infiltrate the group and find out who killed Kurt. While Father Doug is taking out the trash, he gets abducted. He wakes up dazed in the parking of a fast food restaurant. He calls Ozzie for help. This puts Ozzie in an awkward situation because he d just started opening up in the group when he gets the text. Yvonne tells Gerry that she doesn t want anything serious right now. It kind of crushes the poor guy who s already dealing with his missed abduction. When Ozzie finds him crying outside of the church he lets the other man tag along. When they find Father Doug, the priest is pretty shaken up. He tells the pair about his experience but something doesn t add up for Gerry. Eventually, Gerry works out that Father 17

Doug wasn t abducted by aliens. He was kidnapped by someone and forced to get high. They contact the police and the officer, who s been working with the aliens, tells Father Doug he was probably targeted because of the group. Jeff actually seems to be getting a lot out of the group meeting. It s the first place he s had that he could talk about his work frustrations. Too bad for him, Father Doug comes in and tells the group they aren t allowed to meet in the church anymore. The bad news keeps coming for Gina when Ozzie tells her that he s taking a job in New York. She tells him that he can t run from what has happened to him but he seems determined to try. The end of the episode finds Ozzie on his way out of Beacon. When he stops at a convenient store a children s ride outside gives him another flashback. The sheriff of Beacon was the one that set up Father Doug s abduction. Back at the church Jeff as Nancy sees Gina get into her car. While under hypnosis Ozzie describes a girl that was also on the alien ship when he was a child. It turns out that girl was Gina! When Gina and Ozzie make it back to her house they find Richard. Thankfully the man is ok, and he tells them that Jonathan is a reptilian. This makes Ozzie realize that his boss was, in fact, the alien from when he was younger. In the final moments, we see Jonathan working on the Nancy bot, and realize that all of the group had been abducted a previous time when they were younger. In the closing moments of the season, we see Gerry get abducted while on his way to his date with Yvonne. 21

New Beginnings Season 2 Episode Number: 11 Season Episode: 1 Originally aired: Monday July 24, 2017 Writer: David Jenkins Director: Ian Fitzgibbon Show Stars: Wyatt Cenac (Ozzie Graham), Luka Jones (Gerry Johnson), Alice Wetterlund (Kelly Grady), Michael Cassidy (Jonathan Walsh), Tracee Chimo (Chelsea Healey), Brian Huskey (Richard Shenk), Nancy Lenehan (Margaret Flood), Da Vine Joy Randolph (Yvonne Watson), Ken Hall (Jeff the Grey), Björn Gustafsson (Don the White), Oscar Nuñez (Father Doug), Ana Gasteyer (Gina Morrison), Debra McCabe (Nancy), Daniel Stewart Sherman (Ennis Hart), Drew Nelson (Kurt the Reptilian), Nasim Pedrad (Agent Alex Foster) Guest Stars: H. Jon Benjamin (Officer Glimmer), Kevin Hanchard (Agent Jim Saunders), Ted Jefferies (Eric s Guard #1), Sam Malkin (Glenn), Kunal Jaggi (FBI Agent #1), JD Smith (FBI Agent #2), Maja Ardal (Old Icelandic Woman), Jonelle Gunderson (Woman s Daughter) Production Code: U Summary: Ozzie, Gina, and Richard deal with the discovery that Jonathan is a Reptilian and try to reorganize StarCrossed. Don tries to maintain his cover story with Kelly. Jeff tries to impress his new boss, the robot Eric, by showing off his latest abductee, Gerry. The episode kicks off with a quick recap of its inaugural season last year, wherein skeptical big-city journalist Ozzie Graham eventually came around to the bizarre reality that the alien encounters group StarCrossed, in the fictitious Beacon, New York, might actually have encountered aliens and that his frequent boss Jonathan Walsh might number among the spacemen. We jump in at the exact moment we left off: Jeff the Grey, who had been struggling with a dead co-worker and an absentee one all of last season, was finally meeting his alien bosses as they initiated the next phase of their sinister Earth takeover plot. Jeff spread his arms wide as the doors to his ship slid open to a shaft of white light: Welcome commanders! Everything is going according to who the **** are you? So who the **** were they? Well, turns out, just some bureaucrats in the midst of a corporate takeover. A giant floating black cube, flanked by two helmeted figures draped all in black, moves into Jeff s chamber and emits a green scanning beam across his corporeal form. This is Eric, his new supervisor. Eric the cube is now in charge, he explains, because Alpha Federation (whoever that is) has merged forces with Trinity Federation (whoever that is). Eric is very much a company stooge, prone to offering bland middle management affirmations unprompted, a la Teamwork makes dream work! Eric the cube can scan people s faces/heads to read their innermost thoughts, a skill that comes in handy almost immediately with Jeff, who tries to cover for his very much dead coworker (run over by StarCrossed founder Gina last season) and his very much alive, very much missing coworker Don the White. After meeting Eric and his guard corps., we return to Earth, four days after the end of season one. We quickly meet the latest addition to the People of Earth cast, Saturday Night Live alum 25

Nasim Pedrad. Pedrad plays FBI Special Agent Alex Foster, a great marksman (marks-woman?) who nevertheless has recently shot herself in the foot while in the line of duty. Despite this, Foster is charged with the task of investigating and locating Jonathan Walsh, the Reptilian alien hiding in plain sight on Earth as a millionaire media magnate. Walsh, having been excommunicated from his alien squad for refusing to harm intrepid reporter Ozzie Graham, has been framed by his former extraterrestrial cohorts for money-laundering and defrauding clients. Officer Glimmer, secretly an alien familiar, interviews a visibly shaken Richard, who is conveniently summarizing the climax of the last season, wherein Jonathan Walsh s robot assistant Nancy, who at that point had been taken over by Jeff the Grey for illicit research purposes, exploded. Where are Jonathan Walsh and the remaining pieces of the Nancy bot now, you ask? Hiding out from the FBI and his former colleague Jeff with Officer Glimmer, and eating an endless supply of fried takeout, much to Walsh s dietary chagrin. The FBI and Jeff aren t the only parties interested in Jonathan Walsh s whereabouts. Ozzie, too, is searching for his former employer, calling him repeatedly to no avail. He has been holed up for days trying to connect the threads between Walsh, Beacon, and all his StarCrossed friends on a police-style bulletin board. The shell-shocked Richard, meanwhile, is staying on fellowed StarCrossed experiencer Margaret s couch. Richard has a terrifying dream-within-a-dream wherein first Officer Glimmer s face explodes in the police interrogation room, then Richard awakens in bed, runs to the bathroom and washes his face, and glances up into the mirror just in time to see his own face explode in similar fashion... before waking up for a second, and final time, in the real world. Like a child after a nightmare, he cuddles up to the floor beneath Margaret s bed. Jeff s AWOL alien colleague Don the White and Don s human girlfriend Kelly who has no idea Don is an alien are in Iceland to visit what he claims is his dying mother. The notion of a dying mother was merely a cover Don was using initially to ditch Kelly when his feelings for her started to deepen at the end of last season. But he was too smitten, and so he decided to, last-minute, follow through with the fabrication. Now, having squired Kelly to Iceland with no dying mother to visit, Don finds himself on a desperate search to conjure such a figure. He spots a woman who only speaks Icelandic, poses as her hair colorist (claiming, in Icelandic, that Kelly is his assistant), and just like that, he has armed himself with a fictive human mother! Richard in a wheelchair because he is disappointed in his legs for not being fast enough to save Nancy from the aforementioned explosion is escorted by Margaret downstairs to the cafeteria of her old folks home, lured by false promises of his favorite flavor of pudding (that d be rice pudding, for posterity). BUT INSTEAD he is confronted by a healing ambush of his old group comrades. Reptilians have acid for blood, so Richard negotiates with the group to give each other blood. The group reunites! Chelsea promises the group that they ll be able to return to StarCrossed former meeting place, Father Doug s church. Back in Iceland, Don ponders telling Kelly the truth, psyching himself up in his faux mom s hospital bathroom. After doing this for a bit, he returns to the main room, only to find that his fake mom s real family has arrived. Kelly, though, has left in a huff after discovering that, you know, Don was lying to her about having a dying mother. Don exits the hospital frantically. Gerry, who had been abducted by Jeff at the end of last season s last episode, Snake Man and Little Guy, awakens in Jeff s lab space, just before some ominous-sounding tests are going to be run on him. He wakes up before treatment and acknowledges the aliens. Gerry, a longtime alien enthusiast who had joined StarCrossed under false pretenses (he had not yet been abducted when he joined the abductee group, but had always desperately wanted to be) requests that Jeff or Eric tell him he s special, just as the aliens prior specimens (the rest of StarCrossed) have been told before him. Jeff assures Eric that this is a method he developed to calm down his human test subjects. Eric approach a very excited Jerry and delivers the good news: Jerry, too, is special. Naturally Jerry responds to Eric in kind, and just as naturally Eric the cube takes a shining to his new specimen. Back at the house he had rented in Iceland, Don discovers that Kelly has skipped and hopped on the next flight back to Beacon. All that she left behind was a small pink toothbrush, which he cradles in a moment of surprising poignance. It is at this moment that Jeff finds Don on Earth, beaming him back to the ship. A heartbroken Don barely acknowledges Eric and wanders off to his bedroom, toothbrush in tow. It takes just a little smooching from Chelsea to convince her covert priest boyfriend Father 26

Doug to let the previously-banned StarCrossed, led by Gina, to host meetings at his church again under a fake group identity, of course. 27

Uneasy Alliance Season 2 Episode Number: 12 Season Episode: 2 Originally aired: Monday July 31, 2017 Writer: David Jenkins (II) Director: Ian Fitzgibbon Show Stars: Wyatt Cenac (Ozzie Graham), Luka Jones (Gerry Johnson), Alice Wetterlund (Kelly Grady), Michael Cassidy (Jonathan Walsh), Tracee Chimo (Chelsea Healey), Brian Huskey (Richard Shenk), Nancy Lenehan (Margaret Flood), Da Vine Joy Randolph (Yvonne Watson), Ken Hall (Jeff the Grey), Björn Gustafsson (Don the White), Oscar Nuñez (Father Doug), Ana Gasteyer (Gina Morrison), Debra McCabe (Nancy), Daniel Stewart Sherman (Ennis Hart), Drew Nelson (Kurt the Reptilian), Nasim Pedrad (Agent Alex Foster) Guest Stars: H. Jon Benjamin (Officer Glimmer), Paul Lieberstein (Assessor), Kevin Hanchard (Agent Jim Saunders), Peter Serafinowicz (Eric (voice)), Ted Jefferies (Eric s Guard #1) Production Code: U Summary: Agent Foster continues her investigation into Walsh by meeting with StarCrossed. Yvonne leads a small team to search for Gerry unaware he s been abducted. Meanwhile, on the ship, Jeff asks Gerry for advice on how to deal with his new boss. The episode begins with FBI Special Agent questions Glimmer pointedly about the last site where Walsh was seen the home of alien abductee support group StarCrossed s team leader Gina Morrison, were Richard Schultz claims to have seen Nancy explode. Officer Glimmer promises to send Alex Foster all his files on Jonathan Walsh and the Nancy explosion incident in the morning, as he spilled sauce on his home computer. Alex Foster of course smells a rat. The group, meanwhile, knows that Walsh is secretly a Reptilian an alien invader who, due to his human sympathies, has gone rogue. Fresh alien abductee Gerry, chatting congenially with Jeff the Grey and Don the White s new supervisor Eric the cube, irks Jeff ahead of the latter s employee review. Eric, who of course can read Jeff s mind, quizzes Jeff about how he s feeling in terms of his role on the abduction/earth takeover team. Jeff reflects on the encounter with Bjorn and Gerry, as the two aliens fret and their abductee, living his dream, continues to beam. Jonathan Walsh finally calls Ozzie Graham back, after Ozzie has left his former boss at least 20-plus voic messages. Walsh warns him about the impending threat of Alex Foster, and urges Ozzie not to divulge any information to her. Alex Foster, still haunted by her little on-the-case accident (she shot herself in the foot while breaking down a door), starts investigating the StarCrossed team, tracking them as they go about their days. Yvonne stakes out Gerry s house while on her postal route; Richard struggles to park Margaret s car. During a new StarCrossed meeting, Yvonne express concern over Gerry s absenteeism. Newly brunette Kelly Grady kvetches that the team seemingly hasn t noticed her own recent absence, 29

during which she traveled to Iceland with Don the White and dyed her hair. Ozzie explains his conversation with Jonathan Walsh to the group, and mentions that Walsh had talked about an FBI agent questioning them at some point in the future. Suddenly, guess who happens to stumble into StarCrossed s church meeting room? None other than Alex Foster, bringing FBI muffins, as Richard derogatorily calls them. He softens somewhat when he sees that the batch includes lemon poppyseed, his favorite. Foster randomly (which is to say, she pretends it s random but makes it clear she knows what she s doing) selects Richard, Ozzie and Gina to talk to. Don approaches Eric and tries to explain to the cube that he abandoned his job post and disguised himself as a human on earth to seduce Kelly, and thus deserves to be punished and/or fired. Eric, though, doesn t care about Don. He s after a bigger fish, and forgives the elven-haired alien for his transgressions. That fish? Jeff. The remainder of the StarCrossed group (Yvonne, Kelly, Nancy and Chelsea) is investigating Gerry s place. It appears he hasn t been home in at least five days. Meanwhile, Alex questions Richard, and (he definitely has a type) a smitten Richard talks Alex into investigating Gina s house, the place where Walsh was last seen. While there, things quickly devolve. Richard locks Alex inside Gina s closet temporarily, convinced she s a Reptilian alien in disguise. When freed by Gina and Ozzie, Alex promptly cuffs Richard and threatens to arrest him for falsely imprisoning a federal agent. This compels Ozzie to barter with Alex he may show her Jonathan Walsh s warehouse, in exchange for her dropping the charges against Richard and doing him one other small favor... Meanwhile, orbiting Earth, Eric assesses Jeff again. He asks him to revise his reports, and perhaps to look to the apathetic Don s reports as a reference. This, of course, hits Jeff where it hurts. He runs back to Gerry for emotional support. Back in Gerry s house, a stressed-out Yvonne explains that you don t just disappear when you re bundling insurance policies. Kelly confides in Nancy that, during childhood, she wanted to be a modern dancer. Eric expresses his frustrations with Jeff directly. Jeff lashes right back out at Eric, who registers his complaint with the ominous-sounding Federation as a matter of official company record. Despite Jeff s misgivings, Don and Gerry seem to have ascribed a fatherly status to Eric. Next, having earned their trust, Eric performs an ominous deep-dive into Gerry s mind. Alex s boss at the FBI instructs her, in no uncertain terms, to report back to him with Walsh s whereabouts before going in herself. She agrees, warily. We discover why quite quickly Alex s boss is a Reptilian, and he wants to kill Walsh for going AWOL on their mission. Finally, as the credits roll, Gerry returns to Earth specifically, to Yvonne s house. 30

Gerry s Return Season 2 Episode Number: 13 Season Episode: 3 Originally aired: Monday August 7, 2017 Writer: Aaron Shure Director: Ian Fitzgibbon Show Stars: Wyatt Cenac (Ozzie Graham), Luka Jones (Gerry Johnson), Alice Wetterlund (Kelly Grady), Michael Cassidy (Jonathan Walsh), Tracee Chimo (Chelsea Healey), Brian Huskey (Richard Shenk), Nancy Lenehan (Margaret Flood), Da Vine Joy Randolph (Yvonne Watson), Ken Hall (Jeff the Grey), Björn Gustafsson (Don the White), Oscar Nuñez (Father Doug), Ana Gasteyer (Gina Morrison), Debra McCabe (Nancy), Daniel Stewart Sherman (Ennis Hart), Drew Nelson (Kurt the Reptilian), Nasim Pedrad (Agent Alex Foster) Guest Stars: H. Jon Benjamin (Officer Glimmer), Paul Lieberstein (The Assessor), Peter Serafinowicz (Eric (voice)), Varun Saranga (Kevin the Motel Clerk), Sam Malkin (Glenn) Production Code: U Summary: Gerry returns to Earth but Yvonne has a rule about not dating other experiencers, putting their romantic relationship in jeopardy. Gerry returns to StarCrossed, excited to be a full-fledged member. Father Doug and Chelsea go on their first real date... secretly and in another town. Ozzie and Agent Foster make contact with Jonathan Walsh. Gerry, his memory wiped, washes the mace out of his eyes in one-time flame Yvonne s sink. As Gerry pieces together the evidence that suggests he was abducted (he went to the diner he had agreed to meet Yvonne at... four days after they were supposed to hang out), Yvonne sadly reiterates to him a dating deal breaker that Gerry had already known: she doesn t date fellow experiencers. The alien-engineered robot Nancy recovers the finger she misplaced in the climactic blast at Gina s home during last season s explosive finale. In one of the more clever design conceits of the show, the finger is a self-actualizing mechanical organism, and it snakes its way to Nancy from out of all-business FBI Special Agent Alex Foster s sealed evidence bag. In one of Beacon s many midnight diners, we join Ozzie Graham, the skeptic journalistturned-reluctant-alien-believer who functions as the show s nominal lead character. Ozzie receives a call from Jonathan Walsh, the Reptilian alien living undercover as a media mogulturned-white-collar-fugitive. Foster, listening in as she sits across from Ozzie at said diner, (figuratively) tethers herself to Ozzie now, since she still wants to arrest Jonathan Walsh. She will shadow him during his conversation with Walsh, then arrest the alien she believes to be a white collar crook. At a new StarCrossed group meeting, an excited Gerry wants to commemorate his first abduction. A congratulatory cake has been purchased for the occasion (by... Gerry). Gerry goes through the song-and-dance of a rigorous abduction sponsor selection process, though he, the audience, and the entirety of StarCrossed all know which fellow abductee he s going to choose. 31

Chelsea goes on a classy date with Father Doug. This may be one of their first times really talking to each other since their initial hook-up. We also glean a little expository insight into Chelsea s hopes and aspirations that we haven t seen before. She was a runner-up at a Miss Connecticut Pageant, her talent was speed painting. She wanted to be a veterinarian before she was married. Father Doug is nothing but receptive and encouraging when she divulges these interests, and their bond appears to strengthen. As we intercut between the show s ensemble figures, we return now to StarCrossed. Gerry, as People of Earth loyalists know, was an alien abduction enthusiast long before he was an alien abductee, even going so far as to fake an alien abduction just to be a part of StarCrossed. Now that he s emerged relatively unscathed (apparently) from the other side, he demands that StarCrossed group leader Gina hypnotize him, in the hopes of Gina uncovering the story behind his extraterrestrial abduction. In the midst of his hypnosis, while unpacking the implanted cover-up story that Gerry s alien abductors imbued him with to conceal the details of his kidnapping, Gerry inadvertently reveals his deep feelings for Yvonne to the rest of StarCrossed. Ahead of an anticipated post-dinner hotel tryst with Chelsea, Father Doug runs into one of his church s constituents, at the front desk of that very hotel. To cover up, they each book separate rooms and plan on a covert dalliance later. Officer Glimmer to erase his gambling debts, told Jonathan Walsh s pursuers about Walsh s whereabouts. He warns Walsh and Nancy the fugitives he has been harboring about this out of either guilt or the goodness of his heart, giving them a ten-minute head start on their pursuers (Nancy computes an 8% chance of their survival) and suddenly they are on the run again. In one of Beacon s many other midnight diners (or perhaps the same one as before?), Yvonne agrees to give a relationship with Gerry another shot, citing his obsessive thoughts about her whilst being abducted, and they decide to take it slow. Then they ditch the diner before ordering for a night of (implied, off-screen) passionate sex. So much for their plan. In a near-parallel scene, Father Doug and Chelsea agree to be more open as they explore their feelings for each other sneaking around in a hotel for quickies is not Father Doug s idea of a sustainable relationship. He s a smart cookie, this one. Alex Foster and Ozzie wait for Jonathan Walsh, who is running an hour late as he and Nancy struggle to evade human-sympathizer Walsh s former alien colleagues. Walsh has reneged because Ozzie had agreed to meet him alone. Officer Glimmer fakes a heart attack to evade cold-blooded murder at the hands of a Reptilian assassin/clean-up man, on the hunt for the ever-evasive Walsh and Nancy. This new sinister figure is portrayed by Paul Lieberstein, who like Nunez is an alum of co-ep Greg Daniels American production of The Office. Later that night, a restless Gerry departs Yvonne s bed to check his . He clicks on a message with the subject header Dark Breakfast and immediately goes through some sort of sleeper cell activation, as we flashback to a moment of Eric the cube prepping him for this exact task. 32

Always a Day Away Season 2 Episode Number: 14 Season Episode: 4 Originally aired: Monday August 14, 2017 Writer: Charla Lauriston Director: Jennifer Celotta Show Stars: Wyatt Cenac (Ozzie Graham), Luka Jones (Gerry Johnson), Alice Wetterlund (Kelly Grady), Michael Cassidy (Jonathan Walsh), Tracee Chimo (Chelsea Healey), Brian Huskey (Richard Shenk), Nancy Lenehan (Margaret Flood), Da Vine Joy Randolph (Yvonne Watson), Ken Hall (Jeff the Grey), Björn Gustafsson (Don the White), Oscar Nuñez (Father Doug), Ana Gasteyer (Gina Morrison), Debra McCabe (Nancy), Daniel Stewart Sherman (Ennis Hart), Drew Nelson (Kurt the Reptilian), Nasim Pedrad (Agent Alex Foster) Guest Stars: Darryl Dinn (Emcee), Mike Nug Nahrgang (Karaoke Singer) Production Code: U Summary: Gina distracts Agent Foster so that Ozzie can sneak away to meet Walsh. Meanwhile, the Cube pressures Jeff to clean the ship, Don wants to spill a secret to Kelly, and it proves difficult for Father Doug and Chelsea to break off previous commitments. The episode begin this week with a lame team-building exercise between Don the White and Jeff the Grey, the bickering extraterrestrial work colleagues responsible for abducting the entire population of StarCrossed. Their new supervisor, a cube named Eric who harbors a particular disdain for Jeff, instructs his new charge to clean a storage room. This is a test the room contains the corpse of Kurt the Reptilian, who had traveled to Beacon from the ship in the middle of last season to clean up Jonathan Walsh s mess. Kurt was accidentally run over by Gina, the spiritual leader of StarCrossed, and has been presumed dead ever since. Jeff harbored a secret crush on Kurt, unbeknownst to the deceased. Jonathan Walsh has been battling a crippling addiction to hush puppies and fast food (as induced by an extended stay with Beacon s resident human-alien rendezvous point, Officer Glimmer) and increased paranoia about his alien former co-workers searching for him. He calls Ozzie, and they agree to reschedule their meeting. But first, Ozzie must shake the FBI agent, Alex Foster, who has been tailing him in the hopes of finding Walsh. Walsh, when he ex-communicated himself from his alien cohorts, was suddenly wanted for a series of shady white-collar crimes, and so he has become a fugitive from both human and alien enforcement agencies. Father Doug approaches his superior, Bishop McNally, about leaving the church to pursue an adult romantic relationship with StarCrossed abductee Chelsea. To Doug s surprise, McNally hastily implores that he stay on, and they revisit his decision in months. Of course, in real life Doug could just quit. But this is a TV show, and we need to keep spinning our wheels a bit in the middle of this second season apparently, so Doug forlornly agrees to linger. As Jeff waxes nostalgic about Kurt s passing, he moves in for a final, farewell smooch but suddenly, in the episode s funniest moment, Kurt s eyes pop open as he yells CAR! Kurt has 33

been alive this whole time! As they reconnect, Eric spies on their conversation, stewing while Jeff takes pot shots at his leadership approach. Ozzie elects to rope Gina in to abetting him in his scheme to shake Agent Foster. It s the eve of Gina s birthday, so she and the group conspire to bring Foster to a karaoke bar, get her good and imbibed, and allow Ozzie to slip away for this big meeting. Here, finally, we get some significant character progress. Don the White, who dated Kelly before she discovered he had lied to her about having a dying mother in Iceland, arrives at the bar to tell Kelly the truth. Alex Foster, meanwhile, loves karaoke. Specifically, she loves the song Tomorrow from Annie because she is an orphan, with vague sense memory of Don being present during her birth. Triggered by the sight of Don talking to Kelly, Alex Foster slugs down some liquid courage and takes the stage. This is Ozzie s window! In the parking lot, fellow StarCrossed experiencers Yvonne and Gerry give Ozzie a care package as a farewell. It includes chocolates, which he accepts readily, and a gun, which he refuses (a sign that he trusts Walsh). As a tearful Alex Foster wraps up her passionate performance, she discovers that Ozzie has escaped to meet Walsh. The group has betrayed her. From their perspective, of course, it had to be done. They need to know whatever Jonathan Walsh has to tell Ozzie, and Jonathan Walsh has only agreed to meet with Ozzie on the condition that they meet alone. Alex s future at the FBI suddenly looks less than secure. 34

Why Can t We Be Friends? Season 2 Episode Number: 15 Season Episode: 5 Originally aired: Monday August 21, 2017 Writer: Alyssa Lane, Alex Sherman Director: Jennifer Celotta Show Stars: Wyatt Cenac (Ozzie Graham), Luka Jones (Gerry Johnson), Alice Wetterlund (Kelly Grady), Michael Cassidy (Jonathan Walsh), Tracee Chimo (Chelsea Healey), Brian Huskey (Richard Shenk), Nancy Lenehan (Margaret Flood), Da Vine Joy Randolph (Yvonne Watson), Ken Hall (Jeff the Grey), Björn Gustafsson (Don the White), Oscar Nuñez (Father Doug), Ana Gasteyer (Gina Morrison), Debra McCabe (Nancy), Daniel Stewart Sherman (Ennis Hart), Drew Nelson (Kurt the Reptilian), Nasim Pedrad (Agent Alex Foster) Guest Stars: Paul Lieberstein (Assessor), Kevin Hanchard (Agent Jim Saunders), Aaron Davis (Young Ozzie), Sharmila Dey (Maggie (Glemtech)), Douglas Nyback (Todd (Glemtech Boss)), Hamed Dar (Tom (Glemtech)), Illarion Michaels (Kid #1) Production Code: U Summary: Ozzie confronts Walsh about being an alien; and Richard gets fired from his job and joins Agent Foster on her search for Walsh. Beacon investigative journalist and alien abductee Ozzie Graham s long-promised, oft-delayed meeting with his former boss and alien abductor Jonathan Walsh is finally on the cusp of transpiring. While alien robot Nancy, functioning as the fugitive Walsh s security detail, keeps watch with a sniper gun outside, Ozzie and Walsh meet at a cabin in the woods. Because Richard Eugene Clancy Schultz nice to hear him state his full name here, for the record took a week off to mourn Nancy s supposed death without alerting his tech company job, he discovers he has been canned. FBI Agent Alex Foster, facing pressure from the higher-ups after Ozzie shook her off at the end of last week s episode, goads him into joining her crusade against Jonathan Walsh during a meeting of Ozzie and Richard s alien abductee supper group, StarCrossed. In the cabin, Jonathan Walsh finally comes clean to Ozzie. He peels off his human flesh to show that he is in fact a Reptilian, a scaly green alien with a humanoid build and face. Walsh abducted Ozzie and most of the other members of StarCrossed 30 years ago. They represented a solid cross-section of young humans for Walsh s research. There is an alliance between Reptilians, Whites and Grays, who have been working together to take over earth for years. Phase one is subversion from within. Monsanto, your presidents, we ve got you guys looking at tiny little screens 20 hours a day, Walsh confides. Though historically, phase two s don t end well, Walsh tells Ozzie he hasn t gotten his marching orders yet. Walsh needs Ozzie s help, to recruit other influential rogue aliens (we discover that Walsh s fellow eccentric earthling billionaires Mark Zuckerberg and Rupert Murdoch also qualify) who have become human sympathizers. Ozzie needs to convince StarCrossed that they can trust Walsh. 35

As soon as Agent Foster and Richard arrive at the cabin site, Foster cuffs Richard to her car steering wheel and insists on making the bust of Walsh alone. The Reptilian assassin in cahoots with Alex Foster s FBI superior, Agent Jim Saunders also an alien pretends to be a Russian FSB agent, knocks out the Nancy robot, overpowers Agent Foster, then finally kidnaps Walsh and Ozzie with an expressly-relayed plot to murder them both in the woods. Richard, seeing them escape, honks the car horn, waking the Nancy cyborg. Nancy rescues Agent Foster, who herself had been handcuffed to the cabin fridge (there s a preponderance of hand-cuffing in this episode). Walsh and Ozzie stage a faux fight to overpower the Reptilian assassin, called an Assessor in the episode credits. Ozzie is thrown loose during the scuffle. The Assessor prepares to blast Walsh, until Ozzie jumps in front of the Assessor s extraterrestrial phaser, taking the brunt of the blast. Foster and Richard, with some lucky guess-work, have traced the Assessor s car and come upon the scene of the crime. Ozzie lies limp on the ground, as a nebulous blue light hangs in the air above him (presumably, this was the locale of Walsh and the Assessor s next move). Ozzie s energy is almost spent. Quietly, he insists that Foster find and trust Walsh. Walsh, Ozzie insists, has the truth. Then, he collapses. So... is Ozzie, the nominal star of the show, possibly dead? I m going to venture a guess and say no. Ozzie was our window to this world throughout the first season, as he uncovered the astounding truth about StarCrossed and his own boss and past. This season, he was the bridge between the rational thinking of Agent Foster and the wacky lunacy of StarCrossed s spacier members, like Richard and team leader Gina. Now that Alex Foster is on the cusp of achieving extraterrestrial enlightenment herself, maybe Ozzie has become a bit narratively expendable. But I still think that he is the story s emotional center, and that there s no way he ll be staying dead for long. 36

Aftermath Season 2 Episode Number: 16 Season Episode: 6 Originally aired: Monday August 28, 2017 Writer: Brig Muñoz-Liebowitz Director: Ian Fitzgibbon Show Stars: Wyatt Cenac (Ozzie Graham), Luka Jones (Gerry Johnson), Alice Wetterlund (Kelly Grady), Michael Cassidy (Jonathan Walsh), Tracee Chimo (Chelsea Healey), Brian Huskey (Richard Shenk), Nancy Lenehan (Margaret Flood), Da Vine Joy Randolph (Yvonne Watson), Ken Hall (Jeff the Grey), Björn Gustafsson (Don the White), Oscar Nuñez (Father Doug), Ana Gasteyer (Gina Morrison), Debra McCabe (Nancy), Daniel Stewart Sherman (Ennis Hart), Drew Nelson (Kurt the Reptilian), Nasim Pedrad (Agent Alex Foster) Guest Stars: Paul Lieberstein (Assessor), Kevin Hanchard (Agent Jim Saunders), Peter Serafinowicz (Eric (voice)), Sabryn Rock (Gina s Boss), Joe Bostick (Richard s Neighbor), Michelle Bugay (Mom at Park) Production Code: U Summary: The group copes with a tragedy. Agent Foster reports back to the FBI. Jonathan Walsh and Don have reservations about the alien mission. The episode begins with the recentlybrunette Kelly, having rediscovered her passion for expressive dance, enacting a performance for the people of Star- Crossed (and a few scattered others), gesticulating wildly to a soundtrack that comprises break-up voic messages from her four ex-boyfriends, including Don the White. It is amidst this recital that Gina, the StarCrossed head honcho and a former therapist, is given the news of Ozzie s demise from Richard, who was a second-hand witness to the event. Jonathan Walsh and Nancy, who had gone AWOL protecting Ozzie and his StarCrossed alien encounters group brethren, have been returned to the ship of bureaucratic aliens overseeing the abductions of the members of StarCrossed. Walsh and Nancy are being treated as employees, though, not prisoners despite the Reptilian assassin, at gun-point, promising to kill Jonathan Walsh and Ozzie in a forest last week. The assassin attempted to blast Walsh with an extraterrestrial phaser first, but Ozzie leapt in front of his gun and took the brunt of that impact. The assassin and Walsh then disappeared from the scene in a flash of white light. FBI special agent Alex Foster was privy to the moment, and remains deeply rattled. Richard had been handcuffed to the steering wheel of Foster s car, parked outside the range of visibility from the incident. Back in the present, Foster is pressured by her boss at the FBI to report the reality of Ozzie s death in the forest at the end of Why Can t We Be Friend. He tries to insinuate that she has suffered severe trauma, and may not be recalling what she saw with total accuracy. Foster meditates on this. Gina Morrison remains in serious denial about her own grief, not shedding a tear throughout Ozzie s funeral, or while purporting to help others cope, or while keeping Ozzie s ever-present pet fish, Abraham, with her at all times including her job and at a bowling alley, where Ozzie s self-described best friend 37

Eric the Cube chats with Jonathan Walsh, and alludes to the fact that he wants to eliminate Jeff the Grey, his loathed underling, and the people of StarCrossed. This leads to a surprise mutiny plot, as Walsh, Jeff, Don, and the newly-alive Kurt, whom Gina had run over in the middle of last season, conspire in a storage locker to overthrow Eric. The cube, who has a lie-detector scanning function, cannot comprehend complex emotions, so when it asks Jonathan Walsh if he was responsible for Ozzie s demise, Eric cannot comprehend that, when Walsh speaks in the affirmative, Walsh is actually blaming himself for the death, and takes no pride in the fact that his friend is dead. Alex Foster refuses to change her story. She saw what she saw. So her boss fires her from the FBI on the spot. Of course, she doesn t know a vital piece of information that we have been aware of for several episodes to this point: her direct supervisor is himself an alien, and in direct communication with Ozzie s killer. Gina, who had been repressing her feelings about Ozzie the entire time, finally unravels during a StarCrossed meeting when she tries to off-load Abraham onto another group member and asks for volunteers. This turns into an all-out bidding war, as Ozzie was well-loved by every single StarCrossed participant. Suddenly, Abraham Graham becomes the show s second surprise death in as many episodes, as the popular goldfish goes limp and floats to the top of his bowl. Gina breaks into sobs, and the kindly Father Doug, whose church hosts the StarCrossed meetings, offers the group an unorthodox solution to the mourning: an extended, vulgar shouting session at the aliens in the sky. At the end of this episode, after the credits roll, Ozzie Graham s casket gets sucked into the sky, through a beam of alien light... 38

Bee Kind Season 2 Episode Number: 17 Season Episode: 7 Originally aired: Monday September 4, 2017 Writer: David Jenkins Director: Ian Fitzgibbon Show Stars: Wyatt Cenac (Ozzie Graham), Luka Jones (Gerry Johnson), Alice Wetterlund (Kelly Grady), Michael Cassidy (Jonathan Walsh), Tracee Chimo (Chelsea Healey), Brian Huskey (Richard Shenk), Nancy Lenehan (Margaret Flood), Da Vine Joy Randolph (Yvonne Watson), Ken Hall (Jeff the Grey), Björn Gustafsson (Don the White), Oscar Nuñez (Father Doug), Ana Gasteyer (Gina Morrison), Debra McCabe (Nancy), Daniel Stewart Sherman (Ennis Hart), Drew Nelson (Kurt the Reptilian), Nasim Pedrad (Agent Alex Foster) Guest Stars: Paul Lieberstein (Assessor), Michael Crane (John Wheeler), Peter Serafinowicz (Eric (voice)), Jason Jazrawy (Agent Ramirez), Aviva Armour- Ostroff (AA Leader), Ola Sturik (Newscaster Sue) Production Code: U Summary: The group asks Agent Foster for help with an investigation. Chelsea and her husband go to marriage counseling. Jeff blames Don for bringing an intruder onto the ship. The episode opens by divulging the crucial intel that a bumblebee has somehow arrived on the alien abductors ship, terrifying Jeff the Grey, who sprints into another room and ducks behind a desk. Jonathan Walsh, meanwhile, has brought Ozzie s body on board as a trophy or so he has told his new supervisor Eric the Cube. In fact, he has brought Ozzie on board in the hopes of reviving his corpse, implementing the same method used to resurrect their Reptilian coworker Kurt. Ozzie is in a glass incubator case. In the latest StarCrossed alien encounters group meeting, the gang discusses the possibility of Ozzie s heart attack (which was its official designation) actually being a conspiratorial government cover-up. Richard kvetches that the FBI did not heed a single one of his notes on the case. The entire group, even nominally level-headed leader Gina believes that Ozzie was secretly murdered, and that the FBI is covering it up. We the audience know that they are absolutely certifiably correct here, having been privy to a coverup conversation in a prior episode this season. Indefinitely suspended FBI Agent Alex Foster suffers a very realistic dream, envisioning that Ozzie, Chelsea and her husband John meet with Chelsea s secret lover, Father Doug, in a futile effort to save their marriage via his counseling. Instead, both Father Doug and Chelsea actively encourage John to leave Chelsea. The aliens are researching just how deadly bees can... bee. It turns out that Don absentmindedly smuggled some flowers on board. Brian and Gina from StarCrossed have driven to Albuquerque, New Mexico with their hearts set on recruiting Alex Walsh, who has been wearing the same pajamas for six days in a row and 39

ordering takeout amidst a deep depressive funk. Brian and Gina compel Foster, on behalf of the dearly-departed Ozzie Graham (murdered two weeks ago at the hands of a Reptilian assassin), to pick up the case again. Foster requests all of Ozzie s case materials from a friend of hers at the FBI. It turns out that Don the White abducted Alex Foster s pregnant mother in 1986, and witnessed her giving birth to twins Jeff, annoyed that Don abducted a pregnant woman, beamed the mother back down to earth. Don deposited the infant Alex Foster into an Albuquerque baby supply store, and now has confessed his sins to his AA group, vowing to find Foster s birth mother. Don, we should mention, is mainly in AA because he likes the steps and the closure he has gotten drunk one time, to date, during the fallout from his split with StarCrossed group member (and human test subject) Kelly. Almost the entirety of Ozzie s report has been redacted, including Ozzie s crucial last words ( Trust Walsh. Find the others. ). The case has been closed at the FBI, and is considered resolved. A good portion of his personal effects that were confiscated (including his laptop) are no longer among the case materials, so Foster will basically be starting from scratch. Chelsea informs her husband John that she doesn t love him anymore, that she loves Father Doug. She s made a savvy choice, as we discover that John just compulsively cheated on her earlier in the day with a woman he met at a gas station. Back aboard the ship, Jeff morbidly records what he believes will be his last will and testimony, as he remains convinced that the bumblebee invader will seal his doom. Kurt and Walsh find him and question him. They have cornered the bee into the airlock, they claim, and leave it up to Jeff to dispose of the insect. Jeff flushes out the airlock, but we see that the bee, that resilient critter, remains on board the ship, lingering on a nearby wall. Walsh returns to earth. Alex Foster remains convinced that Russians were responsible for Ozzie s passing, not extraterrestrials. But she has joined StarCrossed now, and is renting a motel in StarCrossed s base camp town of Beacon, New York. Father Doug takes a huge step, delivering his final homily to his followers and admitting his love for Chelsea. They walk, hand-in-hand together between the aisles of church pews, and off towards a new, alien-conspiracy-friendly life together. Jonathan Walsh discovers the Reptilian alien assassin trying to break into Alex Foster s motel, holds a gun to his head, and forces the Reptilian to dig his own grave. The Reptilian accuses him of having gone soft. Eventually, with enough cruel goading from the assassin, Walsh pulls the trigger. 40

Alien Experiencer Expo Season 2 Episode Number: 18 Season Episode: 8 Originally aired: Monday September 11, 2017 Writer: Nick Adams Director: Shaka King Show Stars: Wyatt Cenac (Ozzie Graham), Luka Jones (Gerry Johnson), Alice Wetterlund (Kelly Grady), Michael Cassidy (Jonathan Walsh), Tracee Chimo (Chelsea Healey), Brian Huskey (Richard Shenk), Nancy Lenehan (Margaret Flood), Da Vine Joy Randolph (Yvonne Watson), Ken Hall (Jeff the Grey), Björn Gustafsson (Don the White), Oscar Nuñez (Father Doug), Ana Gasteyer (Gina Morrison), Debra McCabe (Nancy), Daniel Stewart Sherman (Ennis Hart), Drew Nelson (Kurt the Reptilian), Nasim Pedrad (Agent Alex Foster) Guest Stars: Kevin Hanchard (Agent Jim Saunders), Peter Serafinowicz (Eric (voice)), Rachelle Ganesh (Debbie), Louisa Martin (Hippy Lady), Brian Dunstan (Percival), Joseph Motiki (Radiometer Operator), Justin Landry (Expo Alien), James Pettitt (Reptilian), Michael Hitchcock (Leonard Bechdal) Production Code: U Summary: The group attends an alien experiencer convention; Gina meets one of her therapy heroes; Gerry and Yvonne have their first fight; Richard tries to prove to Agent Foster that aliens do exist; and both Chelsea and Agent Foster receive unexpected news. Whilst in transit, Gina confides in Kelly that her favorite alien abduction essayist and book author, Leonard Bechdal, will be speaking at the convention. She sent him an article about Ozzie s death, and about StarCrossed s group abduction many moons ago (everyone aside from Gerry was abducted in tandem), and some muffins. Kelly is immediately skeptical. Yvonne tries to level with her boyfriend and fellow StarCrossed alien experiencer Gerry about his behavior post-abduction: he has been programmed by Eric the Cube, his memory wiped, to construct a mysterious device that he refers to in his waking hours as a game. Gerry has also taken to staring at the moon in Yvonne s front lawn when sleepwalking. On the alien ship observing StarCrossed from on high, Jeff the Grey has been trying to make contact with other alien ships, to no avail. A guilty and vulnerable Don the White convinces Jeff to help him search for the twin baby that he orphaned in Of course, we know from last week s People of Earth installment that that baby was FBI Agent Alex Foster, who was separated from her mother on Don and Jeff s ship. Alex Foster has become this season s equivalent of Ozzie last season, performing a similar narrative function: she is the wary skeptic and fresh recruit for StarCrossed. She, like Ozzie before her, has aligned herself with StarCrossed in an effort to explain something that traditional, rational deduction could not explain. Agent Saunders, Alex Foster s FBI superior, invites her back to work. Saunders, we know, was in cahoots with the Reptilian assassin who offed Ozzie and was then offed himself, by Ozzie s Reptilian buddy Jonathan Walsh. 41

During a cosy lunch meeting away from the hubbub of the main convention floor, Leonard Bechdal tells Gina that he thinks her article could be a book, with a few moderate changes including swapping himself in Gina s stead as the story s protagonist. He cooly slides her a $15,000 check to start. Don the White, having discovered Alex Foster s whereabouts, arrives at the Alien Experiencer Expo and immediately begins issuing emotionally-charged correctives and tirades at the various alien displays. Elsewhere on the convention floor, Kelly, Don s jilted ex-girlfriend, encourages Gina to move forward with the book herself. Chelsea experiences her own series of unfortunate events: first, she tackles some morning sickness; next, she realizes she s late; and finally, an emergency pregnancy kit test confirms that she s pregnant. But here s where things get a bit scandalous: the father could be her husband John (from whom she s divorcing), it could be her lover, Father Doug, or it could be... Don the White, with whom she had a very romantic extraterrestrial encounter (though the memory of her experience only comes to her in flashes). Alex Foster excitedly finds Richard, her companion throughout the convention, and details the rest of her conversation with Agent Saunders at the FBI. The third man, as Saunders and Foster call him (actually the Reptilian assassin), admitted to killing Ozzie with sodium pentathol, and is now in a Russian prison. Foster has decided this explanation (a lie) fits, and elects to return to the FBI. In a mid-credits scene, we discover that Saunders intends to kill Foster, because Walsh is protecting her. Elsewhere, in a big moment of self-assertion and personal growth, Gina confronts Leonard Bechdal, tears up the check, and decides to self-publish. As Alex Foster begins to pack her suitcase in her Beacon motel room and return to the FBI, she discovers a message from Don the White. It s an envelope, with YOU ARE NOT ALONE scribbled in marker across its front. Inside, the word FAMILY is written above a phone number. 42

Truth or Dare Season 2 Episode Number: 19 Season Episode: 9 Originally aired: Monday September 18, 2017 Writer: Samantha McIntyre Director: Shaka King Show Stars: Wyatt Cenac (Ozzie Graham), Luka Jones (Gerry Johnson), Alice Wetterlund (Kelly Grady), Michael Cassidy (Jonathan Walsh), Tracee Chimo (Chelsea Healey), Brian Huskey (Richard Shenk), Nancy Lenehan (Margaret Flood), Da Vine Joy Randolph (Yvonne Watson), Ken Hall (Jeff the Grey), Björn Gustafsson (Don the White), Oscar Nuñez (Father Doug), Ana Gasteyer (Gina Morrison), Debra McCabe (Nancy), Daniel Stewart Sherman (Ennis Hart), Drew Nelson (Kurt the Reptilian), Nasim Pedrad (Agent Alex Foster) Guest Stars: Peter Serafinowicz (Eric (voice)), Ted Jefferies (Eric s Guard #1), Douglas Nyback (Todd / Glemtech Boss), Milton Barnes (Patrick the Mediator), Tabitha Lupien (Female FBI Agent), Shazdeh Kapadia (Young Alex) Production Code: U Summary: Agent Foster goes to Gina with a personal problem. Richard sues his employer for wrongful termination with the help of the group as character witnesses. Jeff is blackmailed by Eric and Jonathan Walsh offers his support. On the alien ship observing earth, supervisor Eric the Cube calls Jeff the Grey out on his negligence of his newly-assigned janitorial tasks. He has video surveillance footage of Jeff kissing Kurt the Reptilian while the latter was still believed to be dead and laid out on a slab, and uses this to essentially blackmail Jeff into scrubbing the hallway floor with a toothbrush. Back on earth specifically, back in Beacon, New York Alex Foster shows up at StarCrossed alien encounters group leader Gina Morrison s house to bid farewell before rejoining the FBI. Alex, pretty clearly, has another agenda she was given an envelope, anonymously, at an alien fan convention last week (though we know it was from Don the White). It simply read Family, with a number to call. An orphan grabbling with severe abandonment issues, Alex needs Gina s therapeutic skills to abet her in processing this sudden development. Elsewhere, fellow StarCrossed experiencers Kelly, Gerry, and Chelsea show up as character witnesses to support Richard as he defends himself against his former employer, Glemtech Manufacturing, in a mediation. Richard thinks that his firing was unjust, and a direct result of his experience with an extraterrestrial. As we ll soon discover, he is (surprisingly) half-right. Aboard the ship, Jeff and Jonathan Walsh confer in a supply closet. Jeff explains that he has been compromised with Eric s incriminating surveillance footage. Jonathan tries to encourage Jeff to explain his feelings to Kurt so that Eric cannot lord that over him and they can move forward with their coup of the ship. When we return to the ship, Jeff attempts to communicate 43

his feelings to Kurt, who remains uncomfortably jumpy following his experience getting run over by a car last season. Jeff decides instead that he and Walsh have to destroy the footage of him smooching an unconscious Kurt from the ship s records. Alex relays her fears with Gina. She shares a particularly biting headline that turns out to be at the heart of her insecurities, surrounding the mysterious circumstances of her own birth: Abandoned Baby Found Abandoned In Local Nursery Store. Yes, the article used Abandoned twice to really drive the point home. The FBI blanketed New Mexico in search of Alex Foster s family, and would frequently check up on her as she made her way through a series of foster homes, which may be (a) why she has a kinship with and an interest in the FBI and (b) why her last name is Foster. Alex also unpacks an embarrassing workplace incident: she burst into a potential crime scene without backup and accidentally shot herself in the foot because she heard a baby crying and stopped thinking rationally. Gina uses this memory to galvanize Alex to call the number from the note. While combing through surveillance footage in search of the incriminating Jeff-on-Kurt smooch, Jonathan Walsh discovers that Eric the Cube recharges at exactly the same time every day thus presenting Walsh and Jeff with a perfect opportunity to stage their mutiny! During Richard s mediation, Richard lists all his Glemtech Manufacturing ex-coworkers cruel bullying tactics and gross vocational incompetence. As the evidence piles up, the viewer gains something resembling respect and sympathy for the eccentric, wrongfully terminated employee. We took him for a fool, when in fact he was merely a sap. The mediator agrees, and rules that Glemtech reinstate Richard and pay him $75,000 in damages for emotional stress. The StarCrossed team celebrates Richard s victory against Glemtech with an impromptu pajama party (which had been a particularly moral-sapping sticking point for Richard at Glemtech). Richard has decided to quit, and use the $75,000 as potential seed money to start his own business, one that will lack the general meanness of Glemtech. Alex Foster, meanwhile, has discovered that she has a twin sister, and elects to linger in Beacon a bit longer, after all postponing her return to the FBI, and her supervisor (secretly an alien with designs on Alex s death). On the ship, Jeff tells Kurt that the mutiny is going down tomorrow. Gerry, who has been secretly programmed by Eric the Cube to construct a tiny alien ship, finally finishes the project in a hypnotized haze. 44

Game Night Season 2 Episode Number: 20 Season Episode: 10 Originally aired: Monday September 25, 2017 Writer: Alyssa Lane, Alex Sherman Director: Shaka King Show Stars: Wyatt Cenac (Ozzie Graham), Luka Jones (Gerry Johnson), Alice Wetterlund (Kelly Grady), Michael Cassidy (Jonathan Walsh), Tracee Chimo (Chelsea Healey), Brian Huskey (Richard Shenk), Nancy Lenehan (Margaret Flood), Da Vine Joy Randolph (Yvonne Watson), Ken Hall (Jeff the Grey), Björn Gustafsson (Don the White), Oscar Nuñez (Father Doug), Ana Gasteyer (Gina Morrison), Debra McCabe (Nancy), Daniel Stewart Sherman (Ennis Hart), Drew Nelson (Kurt the Reptilian), Nasim Pedrad (Agent Alex Foster) Guest Stars: Debra McCabe (Nancy), Peter Serafinowicz (Eric (voice)), Ted Jefferies (Eric s Guard #1) Production Code: U Summary: Gerry and Yvonne host a group game night. Agent Foster meets a person from her past. Walsh, Jeff, Don, and Kurt enact their mutiny against Eric. At Yvonne s house, her boyfriend Gerry, under hypnosis from Eric the Cube is told to eliminate the entire population of their alien encounters group Star- Crossed. Eric, the new supervisor at the alien ship pestering our titular heroes, intones specific instructions that of course are vague to us. When the fives are two, what do you do? Eric barks. Activate, Gerry responds excitedly. Yvonne enters bringing party supplies. Gerry has to talk her into removing all of her weapons from exhibition. She is especially reticent to part with her battle ax. She also has a ninja star bookmark, a lamp camouflaging a grenade, and a taser packed into a cookie jar. Alex Foster is fully flipping out at the prospect of meeting her twin sister. StarCrossed team leader Gina and pseudo-reformed hippy Margaret help coach Alex through a variety of roleplaying scenarios. Meanwhile, aboard the alien ship orbiting earth and observing StarCrossed, Don the White, Jonathan Walsh, Jeff the Grey, and Kurt the Reptilian plot their team mutiny. The stakes are high, they risk execution if caught. At game night, Gerry establishes the rules of Experiencers The Game, a game where everyone is a winner, that has of course been created by Eric as a red herring. Chelsea confides in Margaret that she s unsure about how her recent boyfriend, the former Father Doug, will handle the news of her pregnancy, since there s a possibility that the child is her ex-husband s. Off an anonymous tip from Don the White a few weeks ago, Alex Foster at long last meets her sister her identical twin sister Jasmine, no less. Alex s birth name, it turns out, is Crystal. The sister presents Alex with a baby book, and explains (accurately) that Alex was born on an alien spaceship, and their mother has been looking for Alex ever since. After the mutiny has succeeded and Eric is captured, Eric explains that he has brainwashed Gerry s mind to destroy StarCrossed when the fives are two. 45
