1 2012 LCSC Results Fairfax Rod & Gun Club, Inc. Manassas, Virginia Registered Lady Shooters & Volunteers at the 2012 Ladies Charity Skeet Classic April 2012
2 Dear Lady Shooters & Guests, 5 May 2012 Thank you all for your enthusiastic participation! We had a very successful 18 th ladies charity skeet shoot; together, we raised $16,500 to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. We also introduced nine new ladies to the fun of shooting skeet via the Novice Event. Thanks to the continuing support of our wonderful industry sponsors, many dedicated volunteer workers, our helpers at the club, and the support of NSSA and VSSA we plan to host the Ladies Charity Skeet Classic here again in 2013 most likely the same weekend as this year. The announcement of dates and program for next year will be at the World shoot if not before. Also new for next year: Dayna and Barry Rich have generously offered to sponsor five new LCSC shooters in the 4-gun HOA event for Nominations must come from a lady who shot the LCSC in Virginia in Please send name and contact information to me for A Rich Sponsorship. Preference will be given to Collegiate and younger ladies and ladies who have never shot the LCSC at any location. Nominations will be accepted for those who have shot the Ladies shoot but not in Virginia and lady shooters of any age. Thank you all for all your support! I hope you plan to come again. See you in Virginia next year! (All the wonderful photos were taken by Greg Huszai.) Becky Myers, Chairperson Ladies Charity Skeet Classic A SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR MAJOR SUPPORTERS MORE fun presentations! This year we had 6 businesses or individuals (in addition to the NSSA and VSSA) who made major contributions to our shoot for the registered event awards and other expenses. This is spectacular and we thank them for their extraordinary generosity on behalf of our lady shooters and wounded warriors! KRIEGHOFF INTERNATIONAL for the Novice event and HOA KOLAR ARMS for our Doubles event BLASER USA for our.410 Bore event ALAMO SPORTING ARMS for our 20 Gauge event JOHN WATERS for our 28 Gauge event MURRELL SMITH for our 12 Gauge event JOHN HAUGH to fund the embroidered tote bags for the shooters and volunteers and bottled water for the fields BOZARD FORD to fund whatever we needed. 2 11
3 KREIGHOFF NOVICE EVENT Beautiful awards! Thanks to Debbi Perry, John Waters, and our sponsors. This event focuses on lady shooters who are beginners with a shotgun and who have never shot registered clay targets. They started out together as a group with a safety lecture in the Vince Marcum Skeet Pavilion by coaches Dale Cox, Clay Gormish, and Nunzio Litterio assisted by Master Referee Bob Wilkin. That was followed by a morning of instruction on the field. After lunch, shooters and their coaches shot a 50 bird event. Usually the coaches scores make a difference in the outcome THIS YEAR the coaches all tied so the Novices ruled the outcome. It appeared as if they all had a great time! The teams and results of the competition were (reads left to right): 1st Place Team Cox Teresa Rueda Lana Vu Michelle Walker with referee Alton McDonald and coach Dale Cox 2nd Place Team Gormish Ashley Walthall Angela Walthall Melissa Jo York-Tilley with coach Clay Gormish and referee Bob Wilkin T.W. Williams Auctioneer Extraordinary in Action! 3rd Place Team Litterio Gail Pades-Carter Catherine Medd Christine Lange with referee Jeff Key and coach Nunzio Litterio 10 Presentations are fun! John Waters, Debbi Perry and Meridith Tunick (the John Waters 28 Gauge RU). Each Novice member of the team received a shell pouch donated by KRIEGHOFF (slightly different for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.) Angela Walthall was our highest scoring Novice in the competition and received an additional award of a silver bowl. 3
