In the first book of the series, L.A Weatherly completely revises the notion of angels as pure, harmless, benevolent creatures, transforming them into manipulative, selfish harbingers of destruction in an epic transformation of the good vs. evil story. The angels have travelled to earth to survive by feeding off the human population but their destructive intent is largely veiled. Humans see their presence merely as a blessing and are converting in ever-increasing numbers to The Church of Angels. Alex is one of the few to know the truth. He has been training as an angel killer all of his young life but when he meets Willow everything he thought he knew is unravelled, for she is part- human, part-angel, and the only one who may truly be able to save humanity from the coming Second Wave. Not often does a young adult book so radically reinvent a tradition and offer readers something completely refreshing but this is exactly what Angel does in a fast-paced, suspenseful story that keeps you gripped from beginning until end. The creativity and imagination of this novel is unparalleled and with two more books in the series this epic looks set to get even more interesting. Move over vampires, it s the turn of the angels.

2 Delilah Acworth Angel is the new sensation that will grip your heart and play with your head. It was the perfect mixture of passion, innocence and adventure that really got my blood boiling. In almost every story about angels, they are the light, the goodness, the hope. To have a story that switches all of that and turns it on its head is completely radical. I was immediately sucked into it, and the only time I put the book down was to sleep. Angel is a true example of a literary genius writing from the heart. This is the next big book. Move over vampires, it's time for angels to be in the limelight. Harriett Batty The term angel means angelic and most desired creatures. But the book Angel by L.A. Weatherly, tells of romance, action and so much more. It has a completely different view of angels altogether and would interest the teen twilight romance lovers, and others that like a good story with romance and action. This book for me is great but may be best for only the young teens and not for the adults. Also one or two sentences were a little cliché but other than that it s good teen fiction and I can t wait to read the next two books. Harriet Cunningham I am a massive fan of L.A.Weatherly after reading these books and as someone who has read both this book, and the sequel, I can assure you that the quality continues. This is a book with a really interesting twist on the typical image of an angel and will make you see them in a completely new light. The idea is completely unique and as far as I know, there are no other YA books currently published that resembles this - always a plus. The protagonist, Willow, is a loveable character and you will find yourself getting genuinely invested in her well-being, not unlike Alex. Although Willow is great, I think Alex is my favourite character in this book. I don't want to spoil it for you but I have two words: Character development. I would recommend this book to any teenagers with a love of fantasy.

3 Calum Stillie, Angel killer, Alex, and half angel, Willow, unite in this romantic, yet scary, high octane adventure in their fight to overcome the angels. Descriptive and atmospheric, a must read for the holidays! Angel, the first book in the trilogy by L A Weatherly is filled with heart stopping tension which makes it extremely compelling. As you get further into the book you become more and more addicted to this romantic yet scary high octane adventure. My favourite character is Alex; brave, strong and protective of half angel Willow. As the story progresses they become closer. This is not the romantic and girly book the cover portrays but is gripping and exciting from beginning to end. A definite read for boys as well as girls. Jhaneel Absolutely breathtaking! As a child I have always loved mystical creatures that allowed my imagination to run wild. Angels didn't become an obsession of mine until I started secondary school. Reading Angel totally changed the perception I had about angel and celestial beings. Weatherly has concocted an amazing romance between Willow and Scott that left me catching my breath after the last page. Not only did the romance heat up my bedroom, the war context going on between the angels I thought was very well thought out; it left me lusting for more when I reached the epic twist at the end. I honestly have to say that it is by far one of the best romance stories I have ever laid eyes on and I will definitely be recommending it to my book club because it is a fantastic read. If you're looking for a book to thoroughly enjoy and pine for what happens next, this series should definitely be on your reading list. Rachel Bourn, age 14 You think angels are the good guys? Think again. Angels are monsters, creatures that feed on the energy of humans, leaving them with schizophrenia, cancer, MS, Parkinson s... They can destroy your mind, and you ll still believe you have been blessed. Or sometimes they ll just kill you, of course. Alex is an Angel Killer, or AK for short, sworn to protect his fellow humans; Willow is just a normal teenage girl (even if she does enjoy tinkering with cars more than wearing makeup).

4 However, Willow has a gift- she can read people; she can tell you your future, your dreams, your hopes, your regrets... Even Beth, the perfect school allrounder, wants to be read by Willow! But it s just a harmless trick right? It can t hurt anyone? Willow s powers make her more dangerous than she knows. Alex knows Willow s secret. He knows where her powers come from. And he intends to stop her - at least, at first he does... This is a fantastic book, with some really fresh ideas. There have been many books concerning angels, but Angel really has a bite! I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the Fallen series by Lauren Kate, or Angel dust by Sarah Mussi. Ayesha Afghan Angel by L.A Weatherly is a thrilling romance novel aimed at teenagers. It s about Willow, who can see peoples futures simply by touching them. She falls in love instantly with Alex, a mysterious and dangerous ' bad boy '. There isn't too much romance in it but there isn't too little either. Angel has a different storyline to most novels. Everyone thinks angels are good but this book tells us otherwise. The cover of this book is very eye catching too. L.A Weatherly has done a very good job to write this book. I definitely want to read other books by this author. Molly Hudson, age 12 Fantastic book, my favourite I've read this year so far! Very exciting; loved the romance, fantasy, car chases, the road trip and especially love that all my angel illusions are over forever! Loved this book, LA Weatherly is my new heroine.<sigh> This book rocked. I loved Willow and Alex, they were fab characters who kept me wanting to learn more about them all the time. The fact they are sworn enemies and shouldn't be together made it more exciting. I liked how it shifted from Willow to Alex and you could see how both felt about a situation. I loved the start as was really not sure if Alex was good or bad. LOVED the road trip! I would love Willow as a friend (although not sure I need anyone to see my future dreams and hopes!) She's strong, independent and can even mend cars, how cool is that?! I really loved how it was different from the other Angel books like Fallen and Hush Hush, it totally ripped apart my belief that all Angels are good. Can't wait to read Angel Fire its top of my to read pile!

5 Jenny Duffy, age 20 Angel mania has gripped America, with a new cult called the Church of Angels growing rapidly. However, there is a dark truth behind the angels appearances. The angels are feeding off human life force to survive. Willow may be psychic, but she doesn t believe in angels, until a reading unexpectedly tells her otherwise. Her shock at this discovery is nothing compared to the revelation that she is half-angel herself. With the angels and their devotees out to kill her, Willow is thrown into a dangerous adventure with Alex, a brooding Angel Killer. Willow must learn to embrace who she is, if humanity is to have any chance of survival. Not being a fan of paranormal romance, I will admit that I had my doubts about this book, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and was quickly swept up by the exciting plot. Both Willow and Alex are strong and complex characters, and the chemistry between them was powerful. I liked that Willow wasn t a typical damsel in distress, but would like to see her become a bit more independent from Alex in the rest of the series. The idea of the angels as draining human energy was also different and chilling, and this aspect of the novel was very interesting. I was a bit disappointed by the ending, but as this is a trilogy I am sure the big finale will come later! A compelling paranormal read with action, adventure, romance, and some seriously scary angels. Rebecca Tyrrell Angel is an amazing book about a half angel, half human called Willow, who doesn t know it yet, but has the power to wipe out the entire angel population who feed on human energy. It has highs, lows, romance and action- the perfect mixture for an exciting and addictive read. It was so addictive that I was very scared I would finish it too quickly and not allow time for the suspense to build up, so much so that I banned myself from reading any more than a chapter each day which is why it has taken me so long to write and send in this review. The addictiveness aside, I would STRONGLY recommend this book to anyone and everyone within the age range. Those who love Twilight and that type of book will love it and those who don t should still give it a try as I reckon you will be pleasantly surprised. I can t wait to read the next book in the series and find out what will happen to the characters I have come so attached to.

6 Emer O'Brien, age 16 Angel by LA Weatherly, is an enjoyable read which provides a fresh and interesting twist on angle mythology, which in the current vampire obsessed era is refreshing. Lots of fun and easy to read. Angel by L.A. Weatherly, is about Willow, a girl who likes to tinker with cars. When Alex, a trained Angel Killer appears, she realises this may not be the only thing that makes her unusual. This book re-invents the angel. What Stephanie Meyer did to vampires, L.A. Weatherby has done to angels. Fear not, for although they do sparkle, if any creature has a right to sparkle it is probably angels. The role and character of angels is reversed, and in an era of popular fiction where malevolent creatures are the love interest; angels, the paranormal nice guys of the twilight zone- are the villains. This inverse role is interesting and new and in a world of angsty vampires and soppy werewolves, is somewhat refreshing. The love story side is believable and natural with the only downside being that it occasionally seems contrived. They seem to go from enemies to best friends too suddenly. Then there are periods late in the book where the story lulls and it becomes dull. The climax, however, is suitably exciting. Recommended for people looking for an enjoyable but not too challenging read. Ellie Frost, adult Alex kills angels, but not angels as we think of them. These angels are parasites, feeding off human energy to survive. A gothic romance, this is a real page-turner. When I started this book, I wasn't at all sure I was going to enjoy it, but I soon got sucked in to the story of Alex the angel killer and Willow the psychic schoolgirl. I was enthralled by the novel concept of angels as parasites, preying (sorry for the pun) on the human race. I loved the concept that Willow, different from her peers at school, is a half-angel. What I liked less was the romance between Willow and Alex. It got in the way of the story for me, although I can see the appeal to teenagers. I am, however, still keen to read the next book in the trilogy, just to see what happens next.
