3 Chapter 1 Introduction The ITRI is a scientific, not-for-profit organization that conducts development and industrial promotion of a multitude of technologies including broadband wireless platforms based upon IEEE Standard ITRI works closely with operators, academia, and regulators to ensure that ITRI developed systems meet customer and government requirements. This specification is intended for developing interoperable WirelessMAN Advanced broadband wireless access systems. The objective is to provide and promote the commercialization of the WirelessMAN Advanced systems among the manufacturers, operators, academia, and research institutes. 7 4.1.2 IEEE Std This standard specifies the air interface, including the medium access control layer (MAC) and physical layer (PHY), of combined fixed and mobile point-to-multipoint broadband wireless access (BWA) systems. The MAC is structured to support multiple PHY specifications, each of which is suited to a particular operational environment IEEE Std a-2013 This amendment specifies the air interface, with enhancements designed to meet the requirements of the IMT-Advanced standardization activity. Based upon the WirelessMAN- OFDMA specification of IEEE Std , this amendment provides continuing support for higher reliability networks IEEE Std b-2012 This amendment specifies the air interface, with enhancements designed to meet the requirements of the IMT-Advanced standardization activity. Based upon the WirelessMAN- OFDMA specification of IEEE Std , this amendment provides continuing support for Machine-to-Machine Applications. 4.2 Detailed specification Normative Reference: The detailed specification text for the radio interface is provided in Annexes 1, 2, and 3 as referred to in the following subsections. The purpose of this section is to provide the list of ITRI Release 1 Band Class Groups (BCGs) along with the supported channel bandwidths. In the ITRI Release numbering scheme, ITRI Release 1 reflects the gradual enhancement of the radio performance relates to the fulfillment of IMT-Advanced requirements. Table 1 lists R1 The channel bandwidth sizes, all R 1 BCGs, by default, support 5, 10 and 15 MHz channel bandwidth sizes. 18 Radio specifications Out of Band and Spurious Emission Regions The default out of band emission, where Channel Spectral Mask specifications is applicable, is the absolute value of ±250% of channel bandwidth size from channel center frequency or lower and upper bound of the target band whichever is smaller.
