3 Diversity Antenna Distribution Module (DADM 226) 3 Diversity Antenna Distribution Module DADM226 is a custom design which offers the solution to antenna and power distribution requirements for portable sound bag applications where the weight and size matters without sacrificing performance. The DADM226 is a 2 x IN and 2 x 6 OUT active antenna distribution system with in-built band-pass filtering, the DADM226 eliminates multiple receiver antennae and provides a tidy sound bag solution with improved RF performance. There are two industry standard BNC connectors for antenna inputs, which enables use of standard low loss RF extension cables, and there are 2 x 6 mini RF SMA connectors feeding the receivers. In applications when remote antenna powering is needed the DADM offers switchable MHA powering with RED LEDs indicating power ON/OFF status, the MHA powering can be turned ON/OFF through the OLED display menu. The DADM has a very high input signal handling capacity with very low noise figure, offering an outstanding inter-modulation performance when compared to other low power devices available. The DADM is externally powered between 10-18Vdc, the dc input connector is an industry standard 4-pin Hirose. There are 3 x Hirose dc output connectors available for powering any mixer/ recorder or auxiliary equipment in any sound bag. Each dc output port can be turned ON/OFF individually. A green LED indicates power-on status of the system box and the OLED display continuously displays dc input voltage. Powering for the multiple receivers is simplified by means of offering phantom power at each SMA RF connector; each Audio Wireless (AWDR-1) receiver is individually powered through the antenna socket eliminating additional cabling in the sound bag. The phantom power is user-selectable and can be turned ON/OFF from the OLED display menu.

5 Setting up Procedure 5 Use the UP arrow to navigate through the menu Use the SET button to enter the sub-menus, to change a setting (e.g. ON/OFF) and to save any configuration» Connect dc powering cable to DC IN (MHA PWR LEDs flash temporarily and OLED display ON for 3 seconds)» Turn ON the unit by the Main ON/OFF switch (Green LED ON - OLED display ON)» Welcome Page» Press the UP arrow for System dc volt meter» Press the UP arrow to navigate to receiver phantom powering options. AW-RX Powering is only for powering Audio Wireless and Micron receivers through antenna input sockets. For other brand receivers, AW- RX Powering 1-6 should be OFF

6 Setting up Procedure (cont d) 6 Mast Head Amplifier Powering Menu (MHA Power) MHA Power should be turned ON only if in-line antenna amplifier or active antenna powering is required. To enable MHA Powering: Select the antenna input that requires MHA powering by using the UP or DOWN arrows followed by SET, and change the setting from OFF to ON by using UP or DOWN arrows and finish the configuration by pressing the SET button again. Warning a) Make sure that MHA switch is always in OFF position if no MHA is used. b) Do not turn the MHA switch OFF when a MHA is in use (MHA off inline will act as an attenuator and degrade system performance) c) In case of a dc short at the Antenna inputs both antenna inputs are dc short circuit protected, to resume normal operation turn the master switch ON/OFF to re-set the internal fuse (no need to replace the internal dc fuse) Hirose dc Power (Hirose dc PWR) Additional auxillary equipments (e.g. mixer, recorder, radio mic etc) can be powered through 3 Hirose dc output sockets located on the right hand side panel. Each port can be turned ON and OFF independently. LOCK The unit can be locked in two ways.» LOCK ON (remains enabled after dc power is disconnected)» LOCK SU (automatically disabled after dc power is disconnected) INFO (Information only)» SW VER: Software version» SER NO: Unit's serial number

7 Connecting devices to DADM226 7 For optimum reception To ensure optimum reception even under difficult reception conditions, we recommend using remote antennas. Connecting the receivers Receivers are connected directly to antenna outputs A and B with short RF-link cables (SMA to SMA terminated cables). Warning For correct diversity operation, ensure that a single receiver is connected to both A and B antenna outputs, ideally of the same number e.g. 1A and 1B. Connecting the antennas Antennas should not be connected directly to the BNC connectors. A short antenna extension cable should be used to place the antennas in a suitable position a short distance away from the box.
