Each channel has independent delay, width and amplitude control. The trigger source for each channel can be one of two internal frequencies, an external trigger, a front panel pushbutton or a software trigger. In the internal frequency trigger mode the jitter may be as low as 5 ps depending of the length of the delay. In the external trigger mode the jitter can be as low as 25 ps. Output risetimes of 1 ns are typical and an adjustable amplitude to 5V into 50 ohms provide fast, robust outputs. An ethernet GUI lets you see the all key settings on one display. Complete front panel control is available as well.

4 1- GENERAL INFORMATION The MODEL745 digital delay/pulse generator provides four independent channels with delay, width and amplitude control. In addition to these four front panel outputs (T1-T4), there is a To zero-delay reference output on the rear panel. Another 4 output channels, a Gate input and a Clock output are also available on the rear panel as options. Delay resolution is 250 fs, and internaltrigger jitter can be as low as 5 ps. External trigger jitter can be as low as 25 ps. T1-T4 can deliver up to 5 V into 50 ohms with a 1 ns typical rise time. Control of the instrument is via front panel or Ethernet. Ethernet control allows the display of all key timing parameters on one GUI. In system applications, where several 745 s are used, Ethernet control is particularly useful. BNC provides software that can control up to 64 channels. 5 Unpacking The Model 745 is shipped in an antistatic package. Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage several components in the 745. Remove the device from the package and inspect the device for loose components or any sign of damage. Notify BNC if the device appears damaged in any way. Line voltage The 745 accepts voltages at 100V to 240 V, Hz. Operating temperature The Model 745 can be operated at ambient air temperature from 10 C to 35 C and can be stored in ambient temperature from - 10 C to + 60 C. Cooling The Model 745 requires minimal cooling but does rely on a fan. Do not block the rear panel fan s airflow. Self test Upon power up, the 745 does a self test.
