1 Technical Assignment #2 Electrical Existing Conditions Report
2 SYSTEM TYPE: THIS IS A RADIAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM BECAUSE ALL PANELS, THE MOTOR CONTROL CENTER AND THE MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM RADIATE FROM A CENTRAL MAIN SWITCHBOARD BUILDING UTILIZATION VOLTAGE: INCOMING ELECTRICAL SERVICE IS AT 13.8 kv, WHICH IS THEN CONVERTED INTO 480Y/277 VOLTS FOR HID LIGHTING, FLUORESCENT LIGHTING, AND MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT. THE POWER IS LATER TRANSFORMED INTO 208Y/120 VOLTS FOR RECEPTACLES AND INCANDESCENT LIGHTING. INCOMING TRANSFORMER CONFIGURATION: INCOMING VOLTAGE IS CONVERTED FROM 13.8 KV TO 480Y/277V BY MEANS OF A TRANSFORMER WITH A DELTA-Y CONFIGURATION. PLEASE SEE INFORMATION BELOW AND THE TRANSFORMER SCHEDULE FOR MORE TRANSFORMER INFORMATION. EMERGENCY POWER: THERE ARE NO EMERGENCY GENERATORS FOR THIS BUILDING BECAUSE OF THE NATURE OF ITS USE. A RECREATION CENTER DOES NOT WARRANT THE NEED FOR USE OF EMERGENCY POWER. SEE EMERGENCY LIGHTING INFORMATION BELOW.
