Boundary and gooseneck base transmitters offer cablefree flexibility for corporate conference rooms, government facilities, educational institutions, A/V conferencing, and live sound reinforcement. Use Shure Wireless Workbench software and networked charging stations to simplify transmitter configuration and monitor charging status. Both transmitters run on rechargeable or AA batteries and can be monitored using external control systems, such as AMX or Crestron. ULX-D systems also offer audio signal encryption, high-density mode, and Dante digital networking for multi-channel audio over Ethernet. 4

5 Batteries Boundary and gooseneck base transmitters can be powered by Shure rechargeable SB900 batteries or two AA batteries (included). f using Shure rechargeable batteries, recharge them using a networked charging station and monitor transmitters on the charging station using Wireless Workbench. nstallation 1. Open the battery compartment. 2. nsert one rechargeable battery or two AA batteries. Align +/- terminals on batteries as shown. 3. Close battery door until it latches. Battery nformation The receiver front panel displays battery charge level in hours/minutes for SB900 batteries and in bars for AA batteries. For accurate monitoring, set battery type in the R Presets menu using the receiver front panel or Wireless Workbench and perform an R sync. Battery Runtime (@ 10mW): Shure SB900 Up to 9 hours Alka Up to 8 hours 20 minutes Charging Charge transmitters with Shure rechargeable batteries in a networked charging station (SBC450, SBC850). The optional USB Charger (SBC-USB) can connect to ULXD6 and ULXD8 transmitters to provide power during operation. 6

6 RF A B Connecting Gooseneck Microphone to ULXD8 Base ULXD8 base transmitters fit 5", 10", and 15" Microflex series gooseneck rophones, available in single and dualflex models. Connect rophone to base as shown. Changing Transmitter Settings Each transmitter has the following adjustable settings: Mute button and mute LED behavior High-pass filter RF power Power lock nitial state from charger Battery type There are three ways to change transmitter settings: Methods 1. Wireless Workbench and Networked Charger (recommended) Change settings in Wireless Workbench and send to all transmitters currently docked on networked charging station (without performing R sync) 2. Wireless Workbench and R Sync Change settings in Wireless Workbench, send settings to each receiver, and perform an R sync between each receiver and transmitter pair 3.
