5 Radio System P25 Phase II hybrid 700/800 MHz radio system Primary backhaul to be provided by fiber optic connections Redundancy backhaul to be provided by a new microwave system, with no single point of failure All subscriber equipment shall be 700/800 MHz capable All subscriber equipment shall be P25 Phase I/Phase II capable All subscriber equipment shall be interoperable with all interoperability partners The consoles shall be capable of software upgrade for implementation of NG % coverage/95% reliability (on-street and in-building) DAQ 3.4 minimum All interfaces with current interoperability partners Sustainability of infrastructure (towers, shelters, and buildings) to 120 mph 5 5

6 Frequencies Currently, there are seven 800 MHz channels (6 plus control) Expect to need 2 additional 800 MHz channels by MHz channels to be primarily voice (subject to technology changes) Need new 700 MHz channels (see CAPRAD) for data Need new public safety microwave links to new towers and hub It will be the appropriate vendor s responsibility for design, application, RPC coordination, and licensing 6 6
