SCOPE OF THE DOCUMENT The scope of the present document is the definition of technical characteristics of the Low Power Current Voltage Instrument Transformer CVS-24-G-. The CVS-24-G- is for INDOOR use. In the document the term Low Power will be omitted for sake of brevity. Fig.1 Current voltage instrument transformer CVS-24-G-

5 Customer : REV. 0 Page 5/16 2. CVS-24-G- DESCRIPTION The device under specification (Fig.1) is a current voltage transformer. It has the main electrical and mechanical characteristics listed in the table below. CVS-24-G- voltage instrument transformer features Rated insulation level Rated primary voltage, Upn Maximum voltage, Um Rated voltage factor, Ku 24/50/125 kv 20/ 3 kv, 15/ 3 kv, 10/ 3 kv 24 kv 1,9 for 8h Nominal transformation ratio, Kn 10000:1 Voltage transformer 0,5 for measurement 3P for Accuracy class protection. The maximum deviation with respect to the prototype is 0.1% for ratio error and 0,1 for phase error. OPERATIONAL CHARACTERIICS of CVS-24-G- According to [1] and [2], the operational characteristics may be collected into six main sessions: - Service conditions; - Ratings, - Design features; - Test performed; - Markings; - Accuracy for single-phase CVS- 24-G- measuring current voltage instrument transformer;

SERVICE CONDITIONS OF THE CVS-24-G- According to [1, 2 and 3] CVS-24-G- is suitable for both measuring and protection purposes. 5.1 Service conditions 5.1.1Ambient Air Temperature The Supplier declares that the combined sensor operates in the standard range of ambient air temperature [-5; +40] C Service conditions for indoor CVS-24-G- CVS-24-G- is in compliance with the requirements of [1, and 2, 4.2.4] regarding the service conditions for indoor use: Table 5.1 Solar radiation Humidity and water vapour Negligible 1) the average value of the relative humidity, measured during a period of 24 h does not exceed 95 %; 2) the average value of the relative humidity for a period of one month does not exceed 90 %; 3) the average value of the water vapour pressure for a period of 24 h does not exceed 2,2 kpa; 4) the average value of the water vapour pressure for a period of one month does not exceed 1,8 kpa. 5.2 Earthing system [1, 4.3 and 2, 4.3]

The output voltage of CVS is representative of the phase to ground primary voltage. 5.3 Material The CVS-24-G- is mounted on the Cooper plug-in termination DTS636. The material is EPDM rubber. The plug-in termination is already certified as per CENELEC HD 629. Metallic lug can be either crimping or mechanical one upon customer specifications. 5.4 Safety The CVS-24-G- has an intrinsically safe failure mode. In case of failure, avoids explosive shattering of the housing. The Supplier is able to provide sufficient service experience evidence to support a particular design is not associated with brittle fracture problems. 6. RATING OF THE CURRENT INRUMENT TRANSFORMER CVS-24-G- 6.1 Standard value for rated primary current Ipr [2, 5.1.1] The CVS-24-G- operates with standard value of rated primary current equal to 300 A. 6.2 Rated continuous thermal current Icth [2, 5.1.3] The rated continuous thermal current is 360 A (1,2 300). 6.3 Short-time current ratings [2, 5.1.4] Standard values for symmetrical short-circuit current Rated short-time thermal current Ith. The standard r.m.s. value is 16 ka and is in compliance with [7] Rated dynamic current Idyn. The value of rated dynamic current is 31,5 ka. 6.4 Standard frequency range [2, 5.1.5]

9 Customer : REV. 0 Page 9/16 The accuracy class of the CVS-24-G- is assured for frequencies ranging from 99 % to 101 % of the rated frequency for measurements purposes and from 96 % to 102 % for protection purposes in accordance with [1]. 6.5 Rated auxiliary power supply voltage Uar [2, 5.1.7] The combined sensor CVS-24-G- does not need auxiliary power supply. 6.6 Rated auxiliary power supply frequency [2, 5.1.8] The combined sensor CVS-24-G- does not need auxiliary power supply. 6.7 Standard reference range of auxiliary power supply voltage [2, 5.1.9] N.A. 6.8 Standard reference range of temperature [2, ] The device withstands the thermal effects caused by the following conditions: maximum specified ambient air temperature (+ 40 C); rated frequency (50/60 Hz); - rated continuous thermal current (360 A) 6.9 Standard values for rated phase offset [2, 5.2] The standards value for rated phase offset is 90 degrees Rating for analogue voltage output [2, 5.4] The Standard values for rated secondary voltage, Usr, is 9,3 mv. The minimum value for rated burden is 10 kω -2%. 7. RATING OF THE VOLTAGE INRUMENT TRANSFORMER CVS-24-G-

11 Customer : REV. 0 Page 11/ Power-frequency withstand voltage Power-frequency withstand voltage is 50 kv Lightning impulse capability The lighting impulse capability is 125 kv Partial discharges The CVS-24-G- features partial discharge levels below 10 pc at 20 kv Low-voltage components voltage withstand capability [2, ] NA General requirements for temperature rise [2, 6.1.2] The current transformer is designed and constructed to withstand, without exceeding the specified limit for temperature rise and without damage, the thermal effects caused by the following conditions: maximum specified ambient temperature; rated frequency; rated continuous thermal current; 1,2 times the rated primary voltage [1,2 20/ 3 = 13,9 kv]; secondary burden which causes the maximum internal power dissipation of the secondary converter (10 KΩ -2%) Electromagnetic compatibility requirements [2, 6.1.5] The CVS-24-G- is in compliance with all the requirements concerning the immunity and emissions. In particular the following tests have been carried out and passed Emission requirements NA Immunity requirements - Harmonic and interharmonic disturbance - Slow voltage variation - Voltage dips and short interruptions - Surge immunity - Electrical fast transient / burst - Oscillatory wave immunity - Electrostatic discharge - Power frequency magnetic field immunity - Pulse magnetic field immunity - Damped oscillatory magnetic field immunity - Radiated radio-frequency electromagnetic field immunity.

NA 8.2.5Insulation requirements for low-voltage components [1, 6.2] 8.2.6Short-circuit withstand capability for low-voltage components [1, 6.3] NA Limits of temperature rise [1, 6.4] General requirements The CVS-24-G- withstands the thermal effects caused by the following conditions: maximum specified ambient temperature (+ 40 C); rated frequency (50/60 Hz); rated continuous thermal current (360 A); 1,2 times the rated primary voltage [1,2 20/ 3 = 13,85 kv]; secondary burden which causes the maximum internal power dissipation of the secondary converter (1 MΩ -2%) 8.2.8Transmitted overvoltage requirements [1, 6.6] The CVS-24-G- is protected against the emissions of overvoltages transmitted from the primary to the secondary output or to the power supply.

CLASSIFICATION OF TES In the following the Type tests and Routine tests performed for the CVS-24-G- are listed.
