15 Sfety Precutions Be sure to red the Common Precutions for Sfety Wrning t the following URL: Turn OFF the G9 efore wiring the G9. Do not touch the terminls of the G9 while the power is turned ON, ecuse the terminls re chrged nd my cuse n electric shock. Precutions for Correct Use Filure Detection for Slow-strting Power Supply When using power supply with long strt-up time, if power is switched on while input hs een closed the internl circuits will detect power voltge error nd the product will not operte. Apply the voltge to the product once the voltge hs reched its rted level. Instlltion The G9 cn e instlled in ny direction. Wiring Use the following to wire the G9. Strnded wire: 0.7 to. mm Solid wire:.0 to. mm Tighten ech screw to torque of 0.78 to.8 N m, or the G9 my mlfunction or generte het. Externl inputs connected to T nd T or T nd T must e no-voltge contct inputs. PE is ground terminl. When mchine is grounded t the positive, the PE terminl should not e grounded. Connector Cover Do not remove the connector cover of the G9-0, G9-0, G9--T@, or G9-0 unless n Expnsion Unit is eing used. Mounting Expnsion Units Turn OFF the G9 efore connecting the Expnsion Unit. When n Expnsion Unit is eing used, remove the connector cover from the G9 Sfety Rely Unit (G9-0, G9-0, G9--T@, or G9-0) nd insert the connector of the Expnsion Unit s connector cle. Mounting Multiple Units When mounting multiple Units close to ech other, the rted current will e A. Do not pply current higher thn A. Applicle Performnce Level (PL) (EN ISO89-) G9 Sfety Rely Units cn e pplied to PLe/Sfety Ctegory. (The OFF-dely output section of G9--T@/EX0-T@ is pplied to PLd/Sfety Ctegory.) The ove is provided ccording to circuit exmples presented y OMRON. Therefore, the ove my not pply to ll operting environments. The pplicle sfety ctegory is determined from the whole sfety control system. Mke sure tht the whole sfety control system meets ISO 89- requirements. Connecting Inputs If using multiple G9 models, inputs cnnot e mde using the sme switch. This is lso true for other input terminls. Incorrect T T G9 T T G9 Ground Shorts The G9 internl circuits hve positive thermistor () uilt in, which will detect ground short mlfunctions (where S nd S re grounded) nd -chnnel nd -chnnel short mlfunctions, nd cut off the sfety output. If the short rekdown is repired, the G9 utomticlly recovers. Resetting Inputs When only chnnel of the -chnnel input turns OFF, the sfety output is interrupted. In order to restrt when this hppens, it is necessry to turn OFF nd ON oth input chnnels. It is not possile to restrt y resetting only chnnel. Resetting Inputs During OFF Dely Time The G9--T@ opertes s follows ccording to the reset mode when the inputs re to e re-entered during the OFF dely time of the G9--T@: For uto reset, fter the OFF dely time hs ended, the outputs will turn OFF, nd then the outputs will turn ON gin. For mnul reset, fter the OFF dely time hs ended, the outputs will turn OFF, nd then the outputs will turn ON gin when the reset is input. Durility of Contct Outputs Rely with Forcily Guided Contct durility depends gretly on the switching condition. Confirm the ctul conditions of opertion in which the Rely will e used in order to mke sure the permissile numer of switching opertions. When the ccumulted numer of opertion exceeds its permissile rnge, it cn cuse filure of reset of sfety control circuit. In such cse, plese replce the Rely immeditely.
