A convenient AUTO meaurement mode automate the election of etu arameter and quickly determine the aroriate device model for whatever comonent i being meaured. U to nine intrument etu can be tored in non-volatile memory for quick recall at a later time. S78 BNC Adater neted) bin have one nominal value and are orted into rogreively larger bin (i.e., ± %, ± %, ±3 %). Sequential bin can have different nominal value, each earated by a ercentage or a nominal value and aymmetrical limit. The tweezer and cli attach directly to the LC meter front-anel tet fixture. An otional BNC Fixture Adater (S78) allow you to connect a remote fixture or other equiment through one meter of coaxial cable. Convenient Calibration The S75 and S70 make it imle to comenate for lead imedance and tray fixture and cable caacitance. The null calibration rocedure automatically correct both oen and hort circuit arameter at all frequencie and all range. Binning The S75 and S70 have built-in feature to aid in comonent orting. Thi i eecially ueful for roduction teting, incoming inection, device matching or when you need to tet multile device of imilar value. 5 S75 and S70 LC Meter Ideal evice Model All non-ideal aive device (reitor, inductor and caacitor) can be modeled a a real comonent (reitor) either in erie or in arallel with a reactive comonent (caacitor or inductor). The imedance of thee comonent change a a function of frequency. The erie and arallel model are mathematically equivalent and can be tranformed back and forth with the equation hown. The S75 and S70 can witch between either arallel or erie equivalent circuit. Uually one model i a better rereentation of the device under oerating condition. The mot accurate model deend on the device and the oerating frequency. Certain device are teted under condition defined by the manufacturer or indutry tandard. For examle, electrolytic caacitor are often meaured in erie at 0 Hz in the C+ mode, o the ES (equivalent erie reitance) can be meaured. The equivalent erie reitance in caacitor include thing like dielectric abortion in addition to the ohmic loe due to lead. It i often lited on data heet for electrolytic caacitor ued in witching ower ulie. At high frequencie, the ES i the limiting factor in the erformance of the caacitor. The quality factor,, i the ratio of the imaginary imedance to the real imedance. For inductor, a high indicate a more reactively ure comonent.
