1 No 22/205 GeoMax November 25th, 205 Product Announcement New GeoMax Zenith35 GNSS receiver We are pleased to inform you about the release of the GeoMax Zenith35 the new GNSS receiver. The compact and fully rugged Zenith35 supports all satellite systems today and in the future. It is equipped with DynDNS technology enabling remote access and configuration from any internet browser independent of your location. Additionally DynDNS on the base allows the connection of up to 0 rovers simultaneously via TCP/IP. Key features Simultaneous tracking of up to 60 satellites (20 channels) Support of GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo GNSS GPS L5 capable Compact size Internal 3.75G Penta Band GSM with SIM card Integrated UHF Wi-Fi, USB and Bluetooth communication IP68 Dust and water proof Internal 4GB Memory and removable SD card Up to 20 Hz positioning tracking Exchangeable intelligent batteries Multilingual web based configuration DynDNS technology o Access and configure the receiver remotely o Connectivity up to 0 rovers by TCP/IP Onboard firmware It is recommended to upload this new firmware onto all Zeniht35 receivers. 2 Field software Zenith35 is supported by the following field software packages: GeoMax FieldGenius, from version 8. onwards. GeoMax Layout Pro, from version 2.4 onwards X-PAD, from version onwards Carlson SurvCE with upcoming version 5.0. Detailed communication will follow. For details about the FieldGenius upgrade policy, please refer to the Release Notes. GeoMax Geo Office (GGO) A new version of GGO supporting Zenith35 will be available by the end of the year. Designed to meet demanding requirements for safety-of-life transportation and other high-performance applications The third GPS frequency L5 increases receiving robustness and provides higher availability and accuracy mainly by a stronger signal, improved ionospheric correction, signal redundancy, interference rejection and improved signal accuracy. The GPS L5 functionality can be enabled on Zenith35 by ordering the following option: GPS L5 option, enabling the tracking of GPS L5 data DYN-DNS Technology Principles of DYN-DNS Technology The DynDNS (Dynamic Domain Name System) functionality allows the configuration of a dynamic DNS service to ensure access to the Zenith35 base server s RTK data stream while it is using a dynamic IP address. 8 The user needs to register at one of the offered DynDNS service providers to receive a user name and password and create a unique host name to use, which can be used to remotely access the sensor. Currently, Zenith35 supports four DynDNS service providers. dyndns.com no-ip.com easydns.com twodns.de Costs per year is approx. 40 USD (depending on provider) Free trials possible (depending on provider) Up to 0 rovers can access and receive correction data from base station The DynDNS technology provides the following use cases for the base sensor: WebManager can be remotely accessed enabling to remotely monitor the status of the unit to remotely reconfigure the unit to remotely download raw data to remotely access the unit and provide st level support Multiple GSM rover connection: Up to 0 Rovers can be connected to one base and receive RTK correction data. The number of users depends on factors such as location, network quality, number of users in cell, Selectable RTK Mode One of the new features of the Zenith 35 is the option to set the RTK Quality Mode. The user can select between Normal and Extra Safe RTK mode. The newly introduced Extra Safe Mode significantly improves the reliability by 0% and reduces the availability by 40% under critical conditions. Under normal measurement conditions the Extra Safe Mode impact on the time to fix is about 2-3 sec. 9 In order to properly apply the Zenith35 base antenna calibration values, it is required to enter the Zenith35 Antenna Phase Centre Offset into: Zenith0/20 The Zenith35 Antenna characteristics can be uploaded by transferring an updated Antenna File onto the instrument. The detailed steps are described in the How to Guide v.0. Zenith25/Pro The Zenith35 Antenna phase center offsets can be entered manually into the Zenith25/Pro by using the GeoMax Assistant. The steps are described in details in the How to Guide.0. With the next major firmware release of Zenith0/20 and Zenith25 Pro the antenna calibration values of Zenith35 will be included in the firmware package. Webserver: Login data By default, the webserver authentication data is: User name: admin Password: password The user can change the password within the GeoMax WebManager. If the user defined password is lost, please contact: GeoMax Support Webserver: UHF Password The access to the radio-settings panel within WebManager is password protected. It is the duty of the dealer to ensure that the chosen frequency and radio settings are in line with national regulations and restrictions. To secure the radio settings from unintended or unauthorised modifications these settings are password protected. Password from factory side is defined as config234. Please note that this password must not be passed on to end-customers in countries with radio regulations. Listing at IGS / NGS Zenith35 is already listed at the official websites of IGS (International GNSS Service) and NGS (National Geodetic Survey). The listing is the outcome of successful type mean calibrations by an official and authorized external calibration institute ( Five sample units were taken to determine the antenna calibration values.
