2 The Modular Antenna System Tactical was created to allow tactical operators to relocate and remote their radio antennas to improve line of sight (LOS) communications, reduce the potential for interference caused by certain types of radio antennas and decrease visual obstructions caused by radio antennas. This is achieved by relocating radio antennas to a more advantageous location using our high-performance RF cables and use of the universal antenna harness. Simply relocating the radio can present secondary issues since immediate access to the controls of your radio is typically a necessity during missions. Many of us know that tactical radios present a clear problem to operators trying to keep the radio in an easily accessible location without having to deal with the burden of the antenna s performance being compromised by proximity with the user s torso, interference with other gear as well as visual obstruction as a result of the position of the antenna. M.A.S.T. is able to accomplish this and improve line of sight communication by up to 40% and associated human factors previously mentioned. M.A.S.T. helps you reduce potential interference with the weapon placement, weapon transitions, manual dexterity or peripheral. Whether you are trying to place a charge, treat a casualty, or lying in the prone, M.A.S.T. ensures that the antenna will be well out of your way using the universal antenna harness mount while affording you the best possible communications. M.A.S.T. systems use custom designed cables that are electronically matched to the specific frequency and impedance requirements of tactical radios. In addition, they are uniquely built by TCI to withstand the harshest operational environments, accidental snags and all the metal connectors have been factory anodized in black to prevent unwanted shine or reflections. The universal antenna harness mount keeps the antenna secured properly preventing any accidental repositioning during tactical deployment. The universal antenna harness mount is designed to attach to any MOLLE / PALS webbing system using the included Malice Clip and will fit any of the primary MBITR and PRC152 antennas, as well as other selected antennas. VERSION-1 FIXED CABLE SYSTEM - MBITR/PRC Designed to thread directly onto the antenna port of the radio at one end and the antenna at the other end when there is no requirement for rapid reconfiguration of antennas or use of a SATCOM antenna with the tactical radio. Used with: MBITR, Falcon II, RF5800, PRC-152 or PRC-117(g) via J5 antenna port Cable lengths: 24 or 42 Connections: TNC-M to TNC-F M.A.S.T. VERSION-2 QUICK DISCONNECT VERSION - MBITR/PRC Designed with a BNC Male connector at the radio end of the cable and comes with a compatible TNC/BNC adapter that threads into the antenna port of the radio. The Version-2 cable and adapter combo allow for either the rapid transition from the LOS antenna to a separate SAT antenna or, with a second Version-2 kit, the transition between two different LOS antennas (i.e. UHF High/VHF Low). The Version-2 kit can be extremely useful for communicators that require optimum communications on air to ground and ground to ground nets with the same radio. Since no one antenna is perfect throughout the full frequency range a radio, the ability to rapidly change between different antennas while ensuring they are both securely attached and ideally located can save valuable time on the objective. DOJ version is different than the standard Version 4 in that it comes with a quick disconnect adapter to allow the cable to be quickly disconnected from the adapter.
