2 2 TouringSub ad-systems // we amplify emotions General Information The TouringSub is a very flexible subwoofer incorporating a durable 18 neodymium transducer featuring very low power compression, high sensitivity and high power handling, and thus delivering enormously high sonic output. It is your first choice if you need to move air seriously. The basis for its incredible and enduring performance is a proprietary transducer motor ventilation system. The bass reflex vent cross-section area corresponds to 75% of the membrane surface area - port compression effects are non-existent. Tuned to 42 Hz it is able to extend the frequency response of any PA system down to 35 Hz. Its upper crossover frequency can be as high as 120Hz. A special feature of the AD-System TouringSub are its flexible recessed stacking pads offering numerous stacking options: Standing upright or lying, rotated or alternating for cardioid setups, etc. Appropriate DSP presets for cardioid or endfire subwoofer array applications are provided with our Impuls series amplifiers naturally. Either AD Impulse DSP Amplifiers or external DSP with provided settings are required to achieve the specified performance. 2) Frequency response: Range of the processed response, where the level stays within 6dB from nominal sensitivity. 3) Power Handling: Is based on the AES power handling of the transducers. 4) Nominal Sensitivity: SPL produced by the unit at 1 Watt at nominal impedance, referenced to 1 Meter. Measurement condition: Full space in the far field of the speaker. 5 TouringSub 5 Accessories For efficient and easy handling and best possible protection on the road various accessories are offered. For optimal mobility there are 100mm swivel castors available, which can be mounted either to the back side of the enclosure or to the optionally available front board. The front board protects the loudspeakers front and - if equipped with castors - can serve as detachable wheelboard. 7 TouringSub 7 Architectural & Engineering Specifications The professional compact low frequency loudspeaker system shall incorporate one 18 inch long travel transducer with neodymium magnet. The transducer shall be mounted in an optimally tuned bass reflex enclosure. The loudspeaker shall withstand short peaks of up to 4,000 Watt generating a maximum sound pressure level of 136 db. System frequency response shall vary no more than +/-3dB from 38Hz to 300Hz measured on axis. The loudspeaker enclosure shall be rectangular in shape, constructed of weatherproof Baltic birch plywood, employ extensive internal bracing and finished in black Polyurea coating. Optionally all RAL standard colours shall be available. The loudspeaker components shall be protected by a powder coated grille made of hex-stamped sheet steel and internally attached acoustic foam in appropriate colour. The enclosure shall be equipped with a threaded M20 pole mount receptacle and rubber feet. Input connectors shall be tripple Neutrik NL4 Speakon.
