HEADEND SYSTEM IS REALIZED AS SEPARATE MODULE CONSTRUCTION INTENDED FOR INDOOR INSTALLATION. HEADEND SYSTEM ENSURES ROUND-CLOCK OPERATION. HEADEND CONNECTION IS MADE BY «F»-CONNECTORS. Modern headend systems must ensure strict demands: high input interference protection, high selectivity, low cost. Headend systems from PLANAR company are designed with the meaning of these conditions. Large number of received programs and high difference level between them claim strict demands to interference protection and linearity of headend system input. Therefore the input schematic contains an effective channel filter and a linear amplifier with AGC. This solution allows to process television signals, which have the level difference in non-adjacent channels up to 40 db. AGC ensures needed channel gain, besides there is possibility to change manually the input signal level in input tap. «PLANAR SG-24» headend has great functionality provided wide range released amplifiers, converters, modulators and combiners (depends on the order). The separate module construction allows to increase number of channels. The composition, configuration and headend price depend on customer tasks and television signal reception conditions. Channel modules are mounted on a frame (up to 8 channels per frame). Also power supplies and combiners are set on the same frame. 2 frames and more are used while ordering more than 8 channels. Frames can be made to fasten on the wall or mount into standard 19" rack. 8-channel headend structure is shown in fig.1. PLANAR company makes converters with single and double frequency transformation. Recommended to use single transformation converters for systems with small number of channels. They ensure high quality reception of TV signals while level difference between input nonadjacent channels up to 28 db. Single transformation converters do not allow to realize all combinations of input and output channels. Double transformation converters have high selectivity, which ensures operation in adjacent channels. They allow to realize high quality reception while input level difference in adgacent channels up to 40 db. Moreover, they do not have prohibited combinations of input and output channels that allows to realize all channel combinations including adjacent ones. Converters with higher selectivity use additional SAW filter. Recommended for MMDS systems and for complex reception conditions. While using programmable converters it is necessary to remember that TV tuner is set as input. The selectivity of tuner input filter is significant worse than channel filter selectivity of converters with fixed channels. Therefore it is recommended to use the channel filter at the programmable converter input while large input level differences. 1.4

Demodulator is designed as «parallel» audio channel structure that allows to minimize distortions caused with mutual influence of video signal and audio carrier signal. Demodulator ensures small differential amplitude and phase distortions.
