The following functions support the planning of an interception strategy: Path receiving efficiency on each waypoint Path receiving situation Height calculation to communicate Height calculation to intercept Prospective planning for identifying the optimal locations for monitoring equipment with most formats, data base systems and communication equipments: Cartographic data and GIS formats Specific exchange formats SMADEF-XML, SFAF From RDBs (Oracle, SQL, XML, Access) to standard text formats Monitoring equipment and field test measurement HTZ warfare advanced electronic warfare features CARTOGRAPHIC DATA HTZ warfare is provided as an all-inone solution, packaged with ICS map server, ATDI s GIS tool. With ICS map server, users can convert their own existing cartographic database from any format. They can also access and download ATDI s worldwide datasets. HTZ warfare can handle wide area projects at medium resolution, as well as high resolution projects focusing on dense urban areas including accurate building layers. 6 MANAGING INTERFERENCES BETWEEN SERVICES Through the modeling of any radio communication equipment and potential interfering elements, HTZ warfare performs and analyses interference between many services. For example, HTZ warfare accurately models the behaviour of radars and wind turbines in order to identify potential interferences and remove these elements or devices from critical zones. OPTIMISING EAVESDROPPING STRATEGY Similar to interception, developing an eavesdropping strategy means answering the questions: Where should one place the listening devices in order to intercept and eavesdrop on a communication, while minimising the probability of being detected or jammed? How to make sure that the listening devices can communicate reliably back to a central processing unit for decrypting and recording? HTZ warfare helps answering these questions by optimising an eavesdropping strategy for both static and mobile sources. 7
5 sec. functions ON-THE-MOVE: MOVING DEVICE EFFICIENCY ANALYSIS HTZ warfare can model and simulate paths and trajectories for any moving device in order to perform dynamic analyses including ground vehicles, aircrafts, UAV s, mobile jammers and mobile direction finders. Trajectories can be directly entered into HTZ warfare or automatically imported from various vector formats based on GPS information in order to perform calculations along the path. HTZ warfare then generates comprehensive reports of the dynamic analysis. OPTIMISING RADAR S LOCATION AND CONFIGURATION As part of mission planning, HTZ warfare answers strategic questions such as: What are the optimal locations and configurations for radars? What are their vulnerabilities? HTZ warfare supports the following functions: Optimise the parameters of the radiation pattern Coverage calculation Radar location optimisation Radar Doppler on path Radar interception Radar countermeasures (with mobile and static jammers) Radar interference MAXIMISING JAMMER EFFICIENCY When it comes to the definition of optimal jamming strategies, there are several important questions that network planners must consider: What are the optimal locations/ configurations/paths for the jammers in order to efficiently jam enemy communications? How to optimise jammer efficiency? How to minimise the risk of being jammed by the enemy? The following features are included in HTZ warfare that help maximise the jammer s efficiency: Mobile and static jammers modeling Fixed frequency, wide band (diffusion, adaptive modes) jammer modelling Jammer coverage Jamming efficiency Jammer location optimisation Jammer power optimisation Jammer coverage efficiency test Efficiency calculation on each way point using OTM capabilities DIRECTION FINDER S EFFICIENCY CALCULATION What is the efficiency of a network of direction finders? HTZ warfare can design allied or enemy direction finders networks and offers the following key functions: Static/mobile DF DF Calibration for calculation of azimuth variation Direction Finder localisation Localisation accuracy map Mobile interception to simulate the behaviour of a mobile Efficiency calculation Capability calculation Bearing import from databases DRONES AND UAV PATH OPTIMISATION Aircrafts, drones and UAV communication equipment can be modelled in HTZ warfare together with their paths and trajectories (dynamic analysis) as part of the whole battlefield s communication network, enabling mission planning and coordination between Army, Air Force and Navy. This way, the robustness of the communication links can be evaluated which helps minimise the risks during missions. 8 9
