21 Plug-in Modules For Configuration of Amplifier Series HV, CV und SVV Flexible configuration on site Plug-in modules for all HV, CV and SVV amplifiers allow an optimal adaption to the respective requirements on site. Amplification and equalization in the forward and return path, active or passive return path, second output or external test socket are configurable. The plug-in modules are fully protected, thus they can not be misaligned or harmed. The high-quality connectors enable a perfect and sturdy high frequency connection to the PCB. Two leading pins make the plugging in of the module easier and ensure a correct positioning. Return path filters The return path filters separate the forward and return path. Thus a separate return path module is needed both at the input and at the output of the amplifier. Three different versions are available for an upper frequency range up to 30 or 65. The respective lower frequency ranges of the forward path are 47 and 86. 22 Amplifiers A18 Output modules A splitter and several taps are available for the configuration of the outputs (line out, ouput 1, output 2): VMM 20: one operating output, one test socket The test socket delivers a signal attenuated by 20. Thus the amplifier output can be measured without opening or interrupting operation. VMV 4: two equal operating outputs The signal level is identical at both outputs and reduced by 4 in comparison to the version with only one output. This configuration is especially suitable for splitting the main signal between two lines of the same hierarchy level. VMA 7, VMA 14: one operating output with high level, one operating output with reduced level. The tap modules reduce the level of the second output by 7 resp. 14. This configuration is especially suitable for splitting the main signal between two lines with different hierarchy levels. The amplifier PAS 152/551N is equipped with a separate amplifier module for VHF and UHF, this allows a higher amplification and output level. 26 Amplifiers SVV Superbroadband Amplifiers universal application A22 SAT-IF-distribution as an extension to CATV distribution networks The program and service offered in broadband cable networks is in many cases no longer sufficient today. Even extended networks may often not satisfy subscriber demands fully, since program availabitlity exceeds transmission possiblities by far. The solution is the insertion of additional satellite programs and services. These are received in a local head-end station and distributed without conversion of modulation to community systems or clusters which include several buildings or community estates. Beside AM and QAM signals up to 862 from wide area CATV networks and from SAT head-ends with modulation conversion, FM and QPSK signals are inserted and distributed in SAT-IF bands or in local clusters. Inputs for flexible configuration At the amplifier input the signals of the CATV and SAT-IF frequency ranges are either fed-in on a single or separate cable. They are equipped with an amplifier block for the range up to 862 and from 950 to Hybrid stages (power doubling) are used within the range up to 862 ; depending on version the amplification is between 25 and 34. The configuration of the amplifiers is done through using the same modules as implimented by the CV amplifiers (p. A 16 - A 18).
