This perfrmance is particularly remarkable in view f the quasi-stability f ur in-rbit resurces during the first nine mnths f the financial year. Vide Applicatins, ur principal activity accunting fr almst three quarters f ur revenues, shwed grwth f 4.5% during the last quarter driven in particular by strng tractin at ur 9 degrees East neighburhd serving western and central Eurpe, 16 degrees East addressing Balkan markets and 36 degrees East fr vide markets in Russia and Africa. The lng-term nature f vide cntracts has als resulted in a 300 millin eur increase in ur backlg, t 3.8 billin eurs. The first-class quality f ur vide neighburhds is underscred by the results f ur tw-year survey n cable and satellite televisin penetratin which shw an increase in the number f hmes receiving channels frm ur satellites in Eurpe, Nrth Africa and the Middle East t 187 millin frm 165 millin. In parallel, Data and Value-Added Services cntinue t shw strng grwth f 5.8% ver the quarter, with the rll-ut f the new Tway residential bradband service which was launched at the end f 2007, picking up speed in 21 cuntries acrss Eurpe, including mst recently in Ireland, Spain and the UK. 1 At a cnstant exchange rate, third quarter revenue grwth wuld have been 3.6%. 2 At a cnstant exchange rate, revenue grwth fr the first nine mnths wuld have been 5.7%

2 Cntinuing ur lngstanding cmmitment t innvatin, we have initiated demnstratins f 3D bradcasting, which heralds a radically new way f experiencing cinema and televisin and which, like HDTV, will require the bandwidth and cverage supplied by satellites fr transmitting t cinemas and theatres in the initial phase, and ultimately t cnsumers Direct-t-Hme. In terms f in-rbit resurces, the end f the third quarter was marked by the entry int service f HOT BIRD 9 at 13 degrees East, EUROBIRD 9A at 9 degrees East and by ATLANTIC BIRD 4A at the 7 degrees West psitin which is perated in cllabratin with the Egyptian satellite cmpany Nilesat. These deplyments have enabled us t meet the dual bjective f increasing in-rbit redundancy at ur premium HOT BIRD neighburhd and bsting capacity at rbital psitins with cntinuing ptential fr grwth. Tgether with the launch in early April f W2A, these additinal resurces bring us higher flexibility and reduce the peratinal cnstraints resulting frm the recrd fill rate f mre than 97% at 31 December With the cmbined effects f ur excellent peratinal perfrmance and the prgressive availability f new satellite capacity, Eutelsat Cmmunicatins is revising upwards its revenue bjective fr the financial year t mre than 925 millin eurs, frm the previusly indicated bjective f mre than 910 millin eurs. REVENUE ANALYSIS Nte: unless therwise stated, all grwth indicatrs r cmparisns are made against the third quarter f the prir year. The share f each applicatin as a percentage f ttal revenue is calculated excluding ther revenues. Vide Applicatins (74% f revenues) With a 4.5% increase in revenues f millin eurs, Vide Applicatins cntinue t register steady grwth. This increase primarily reflects: The strength f the HOT BIRD neighburhd which bradcasts nearly 1,100 channels. In particular during the quarter, Glbecast renewed t 2016 its cntracts fr the lease f five transpnders while pay-tv clients, including Pland s Cyfrwy Plsat and Sky Italia (Italy) increased capacity. The 9 East neighburhd which was further cnslidated with the entry int service n February 24 f EUROBIRD 9A (frmerly HOT BIRD 7A). This deplyment increased the number f peratinal transpnders at 9 East frm 20 t 38 t further supprt rapid take-up f services. Benefiting frm its prximity t the HOT BIRD neighburhd, EUROBIRD 9A was bradcasting 220 channels as f March 31. During the third quarter, the KabelKisk German digital cable platfrm began simulcasting at 9 East and ATLANTIC BIRD 2. The 9 East neighburhd als benefited frm the expansin f existing vide clients including Russia s Platfrma. Data and Value Added Services (18% f revenues) Revenue frm Data and Value Added Services is up by 5.8% t 42.3 millin eurs fr the quarter. Data Services increased by 9.2% at 33.1 millin eurs, cnfirming the recvery already recrded in the previus quarters. Emerging markets, led by the Middle East and Africa, are the main regins f grwth, shwn by new cntracts with ACS (Angla), Hughes Netwrk Systems, Etisalat (United Arab Emirates) and Algérie Telecm. Value Added Services psted a slight decline f 0.5 millin eurs t 9.2 millin eurs due t an ersin f Euteltracs activity cnnected t the rad haulage sectr. Higher bradband traffic frm D-Star and Tway terminals deplyed in the previus quarters partially ffset lwer equipment sales cmpared t the third quarter f the previus financial year, which was marked by the deplyment f significant prgrammes, ntably fr Swisscm and the SNCF (French Natinal Railway). Over the first nine mnths f the year Value Added Services were up by 9%, in line with the annual grwth rate f previus years. The Tway TM cnsumer bradband service is develping in line with grwing interest by Eurpean gvernments in satellite bradband, illustrated by the Plan Numérique 2012 in France, - 2 -

3 Digital Britain in Great Britain and the Irish Natinal Bradband Scheme in Ireland. During the quarter, the Grup cntinued t rapidly expand its distributin netwrk which nw cmprises 40 distributrs in 21 cuntries, including mst recently the UK, Ireland and Spain. Multi-Usage (8% f revenues) Multi-Usage revenues were 19.7 millin eurs, up 38.3% 3 in the third quarter. This very favurable trend is in line with the first half f the year and can be attributed t: - Renewals at higher prices f cntracts which expired during previus quarters - The appreciatin f the US dllar against the eur during the perid. YEAR-TO-DATE REVENUE HIGHLIGHTS Revenues fr the first nine mnths f the fiscal year are 700 millin eurs, up 7.1% 4 yearn-year. This prgressin is even mre significant with respect t the quasi-stability f the Grup s inrbit resurces ver the first nine mnths f the year as almst all new capacity entered int service frm February-March All f the Grup s applicatins have shwn grwth : Vide Applicatins (+5.1%). Taking full advantage f the strength f the HOT BIRD neighburhd the Grup renewed at higher tariffs all cntracts which expired at this rbital psitin during the perid. The Grup als further anchred ther psitins, including 36 East, 16 East, 9 East, 7 East and 7 West which address rapidly-expanding bradcast markets in Russia, Africa, Turkey, the Middle East, as well as Central and Eastern Eurpe where it has a lng-standing presence. Data and Value Added Services (+10.1%). Driven by strng demand frm emerging markets and frm bradband users lcated beynd range f terrestrial netwrks, Data and Value Added Services shw rbust grwth f 10.4% fr Data Services and 9% fr Value Added Services. Multi-Usage (+24.9%). This remarkable grwth is driven by the cmbinatin f tw favurable trends: Sustained capacity demand fr gvernment applicatins in the Middle East and central Asia A vlume/price effect resulting frm new cntracts and the renewal f cntracts at higher prices The appreciatin f the US dllar against the eur 5. EVOLUTION OF THE SATELLITE FLEET New capacity and satellite redeplyment prgrammes. March 30, 2009: entry int service f ATLANTIC BIRD 4A (launched as HOT BIRD 10) at 7 West. May 19, 2009: entry int service f the C-band and Ku band capacity n W2A at 10 East. The Grup als cnfirms that current evaluatin f the in-rbit tests perfrmed n the S-band paylad belnging t Slaris Mbile indicate an anmaly which requires further tests, in cllabratin with prime cntractr Thales Alenia Space. May 23, 2009 entry int service f ATLANTIC BIRD 4 at 16 East under the name EUROBIRD 16. Early June 2009: redeplyment f W1 t 4 East under the name EUROBIRD 4A With the entry int service f new satellites and the dynamic management f existing resurces, inrbit peratinal capacity is expected t reach 574 transpnders by June 30, Cmmissining f the W3C satellite OTHER HIGHLIGHTS AND RECENT EVENTS Thales Alenia Space has been cmmissined t deliver the W3C satellite. This rder fllws Eutelsat s decisin taken in January 2009 nt t integrate the W2M satellite int its fleet fllwing a majr anmaly. As a cnsequence f this incident, Eutelsat decided that the already-rdered W3B satellite will replace W2M at the 16 East psitin. W3C was subsequently rdered t assume W3B s initial missin: t increase resurces and raise in-rbit security at 7 East and ensure a slutin fr cntinuity f service in the event f the lss f the W7 r W3B satellites. Strategic Agreement with Nilesat and prcurement f ATLANTIC BIRD TM 7 On March 24, the Grup annunced the signature f a new strategic agreement with the Egyptian peratr Nilesat t pursue jint develpment f the 7 West neighburhd. With mre than 450 channels already reaching ver 38 millin hmes this neighburhd is a premium lcatin fr satellite bradcasting in rapidly-expanding markets in the Middle East and Nrth Africa. In the framewrk f this agreement, n March 30 Eutelsat deplyed HOT BIRD 10, under the name ATLANTIC BIRD TM 4A, t 7 degrees West. C-lcated with the Nilesat 101 and Nilesat 102 satellites, ATLANTIC BIRD TM 4A has increased Eutelsat s peratinal resurces at this psitin frm 15 t 26 transpnders. In a secnd step, after the launch in mid-2010 f the Nilesat 201 satellite Eutelsat will deply ATLANTIC BIRD TM 7, rdered frm Astrium, at 7 West t further raise Grup capacity frm 26 t up t 50 transpnders. The launch f this satellite is scheduled fr 4 th quarter ATLANTIC BIRD TM 4A will subsequently be relcated t 13 East under its riginal name f HOT BIRD TM 10 in rder t cmplete the in-rbit redundancy prgramme at the HOT BIRD TM neighburhd. The crrespnding investment is included in the capital expenditure prgramme cvering the perid and which amunts t 450 millin eurs n average per year OUTLOOK With the cmbined effects f the Grup s excellent peratinal perfrmance and the prgressive availability f new satellite capacity, Eutelsat Cmmunicatins is revising upwards its revenue bjective fr the financial year t mre than 925 millin eurs frm the previusly indicated bjective f mre than 910 millin eurs
