4 SPETRONI SP - Air circuit breakers Fixed circuit breaker Description Fitted at the factory with a control panel providing an IP30 degree of protection. For panel mounting, a seal and a cover permit IP3X protection with the door closed. Installation - Fixed to vertical uprights or on horizontal surface. - Main connections (see table page D.27). - onnections to auxiliary circuits by terminals located at the front of the unit (max 24 terminals). - Supplied with 12 terminals as standard, mounted on the right. Power supply orientation Up to 415V, connections are made either to the upper or lower terminal clamps. Above 415V, connect to the upper terminals. 1 Local trip and reset push button (BPDL). 2 ircuit breaker position indicator. 5 SPETRONI SP - Air circuit breakers Withdrawable circuit breaker Description 2 The circuit breaker is mounted on a cradle fitted with slides allowing two positions: inserted and withdrawn-isolated. The insertion and withdrawal operations are performed by a screw-nut system, operated by two removable cranks. Automatic tripping of the breaker on withdrawal is ensured by a safety device at the insertion of the cranks. For panel mounting, a seal and a cover, permit IP3x protection with the door closed. The circuit breaker may be withdrawn either with the door closed or open Installation - Fixing to the vertical uprights by rear surface or on a horizontal surface by adding L pieces on side faces. - Main connections (see table on page D.27). - The auxiliary circuits disconnect automatically and simultaneously with the main circuit. - onnections to the auxiliary circuits are made laterally with clips(maximum 24 terminals) - Standard unit equipped with 12 terminals. This unit is powered by the current transformers and performs all the necessary three or four pole overcurrent protections. SHUNT TRIP RELEASE EA-EA1-EB Actuates the breaking of the circuit breaker (the power supply is cut by an auxiliary contact). UNDERVOLTAGE RELEASE UVR-UVRD Actuates the breaking of the circuit breaker when the power supply voltage falls to a value between 35 and 70% of its rated value. UVR: Instantaneous action. Mounting possibilities: - Either 6 AS changeover switches - or 3 SAS special changeover switches for D applications (it is not possible to combine AS and SAS). 17 SPETRONI SP - Source changeover switches Source changeover switches IDS General Source changeover switches provide the power supply continuity of an installation with minimum interruption time, either from a normal supply, or from a replacement source, with automatic changeover from one source to the other. They are particularly appropriate for industrial or tertiary sector installations having a single replacement supply: - either permanent - independent operating generator set - mains - or non permanent: - generator set which uses stop and start control signals transmitted by the source changeover switch. Description The source changeover switches have the same characteristics and possibilities of adaptation for the circuits being protected as the circuit breakers of which they are built. In the withdrawable version, the out of service breaker can be withdrawn and removed without affecting the operation of the in service breaker. When fitted with interlocking in withdrawn position, the unit complies with the NF standard. The source changeover switches consist of: 1. Two or three circuit breakers - designed to be mechanically interlocked - fitted with auxiliaries, wired and brought to the auxiliary terminal as needed for the chosen diagram - may be identical, or may differ in the following: - circuit breaker - type - protection system - structure (possible combination of fixed and withdrawable types) 2. A mechanical locking system with linkage (two or three circuit breakers) or cables (two circuit breakers) 3. An automatic controller comprising the relays necessary for operation of the source changeover switches (not supplied). Installation 17 The circuit breakers are installed in a stacked arrangement (with cables only). 18 SPETRONI SP - Source changeover switches Source changeover switches Operation 18 The source changeover switch enables: - switching the power supply of circuits from the normal supply to the replacement supply in case of loss of the normal supply - switching the power supply circuit from the replacement supply to the normal supply upon return of the normal voltage and generating load shedding and load resumption commands for non priority circuits by using auxiliary contacts fitted to each breaker - selection of the operating mode by using a switch which provides the following positions: - off - automatic - normal power supply operation - replacement power supply operation - in the three units version, select the power supply of circuits from: - normal supply 1 - normal supply 2 - normal sources 1+2 by means of a preselector switch. The automatic controller is powered from: - either the mains to be monitored - or an auxiliary supply. The changeover is prevented on tripping by fault. Automatic re-starting after fault tripping and elimination of the fault is carried out by pressing the reset pushbutton on the control panel of the breaker concerned.the breaker in service can be tripped by pressing the local trip pushbutton located on the control panel. The breaker is restarted by operating the selector switch, going from the OFF position to the Automatic position. Stored energy type: a universal motor loads a spring through a reduction gear. The spring stores the energy necessary for closing the air circuit breaker. 55 SPETRONI S/L - Source hangeover Switches Source changeover switches General Source changeover switches ensure continuity of power supply with a minimum of interruption time by either automatically switching from a normal supply, or from an alternative supply with a changeover transfer from one supply to the other. They are particularly appropriate for industrial or tertiary sector installations having a single replacement supply: - either permanent - independent operating generator set - mains - or non permanent: - generator set which uses stop and start control signals transmitted by the source changeover switch. Description Source changeover switches have the same characteristics and adaptability to the circuits to be protected as the circuit breakers with which they are built. In the withdrawable version, the inoperative breaker can be disconnected without affecting the operation of the breaker In service. The device, when equipped with interlock in the withdrawn position conforms to the NF standard. Source changeover switches consist of: 1. Two or three circuit breakers - designed to be mechanically interlocked - fitted with auxiliaries, wired and brought to the auxiliary terminal as needed for the chosen diagram - may be identical, or may differ in the following: - circuit breaker - type - protection system - structure (possible combination of fixed and withdrawable types) 2. The automatic controller is powered from: - either the mains to be monitored - or an auxiliary supply. The changeover is prevented on tripping by fault.
